Drifting tutorial will have a controller camera so you can see exactly what I'm doing. Absolute best setup for me currently is the Massacro Racecar, on low-grip tires and unstanced - I could drift that car for days and not get tired of it.
Its not as hard as you think your just overthinking it like i was just focus on doing donuts working on getting em consistent that way you can train your throttle control and e break control then just apply what you learned to drifting on turns it made it a easier learning curve for me hope it helps
Transmission is debatable for certain cars I'm interested to try the off road wheels on cars that are far too slippy like the mamba hopefully it will go up hills 😄
Incrementally upgrading is more expensive, but I'd say it's essential in properly learning how your car handles. Also, you can test out traction styles for free by choosing the "stock wheel" option in each category. The game says "equipped" or "this option is already equipped" depending on which traction style you currently have on.
It's really only $500 for low-grip tires and stancing doesn't cost much either, so I didn't even consider that haha. It definitely is worth exploring for sure. Haven't heard about trying different traction styles like that, but I'll take a look next time I play - thanks!

Either way, I would recommend testing a few different car classes out to get a feel for the minor changes. *Side note;* You know how you can control the car in mid-air to help land on all four wheels, yeah? That forward and backward movement actually works on the ground too. Pulling back on the stick during a long turn is my preferred method to get huge power slide, as it puts more traction on the back wheels.
Stevie what’s your opinion on using the heavy revolver mk2 for stancing? It’s really the only gun that I use for it and I think it works well with only having to shoot each wheel three times, at least for most cars.
Managing the camera - like during the intro, or the actual gameplay? The camera movements and stuff in the intro were done in the Rockstar Editor; the rest was recorded using the in-game capture feature, I just added some camera shake and color correction afterwards. During the actual gameplay though, I keep the right thumbstick aimed upwards to keep the camera above the car so I can see any obstacles and plan out my lines.

Dang I was hoping I was missing some setting or something cuz it’s hard especially when I tap handbrake and the camera swings and stuff. It really takes my concentration off the actual drifting at times.

That map was made on Xbox, so unfortunately it can't be played on other systems - no worries though, the map was just Fort Zancudo with some props removed, so you can recreate it yourself if you want.
You're gonna have to buy the LS Car Meet membership if you haven't already. You can then access the mod shop as shown in the video. Low-grip tires can only be equipped at that mod shop.
Really informative video , good stuff! One thing I noticed you didn’t mention tho, Some cars, like those from the tuners dlc have MORE grip with lowered suspension options, so fully slamming it might not always be the best option (but I agree in most cases it is)
Thanks! And yeah I know about the whole lower suspenion = more grip thing, that's been a thing since the Doomsday Heist (or maybe even before that, I'm not 100% sure). I didn't explain this a ton but I made sure to mention suspension height towards the end of the fine-tuning section. In reality the combo of stance/low-grip tires will have the most impact on traction, but as I said, you can make smaller handling adjustments via suspension height.
The performance setup I like to use is street brakes cuz I tend to do tandem more than solo. I don't do much stylish maneuvers when I tandem, and I use the brakes to slow down when close. Suspension, some cars I use stock, like I used to run it for the Banshee 900R. Most of the time I run street suspension though. Transmission ofc I run max, but for the Banshee again I used to run Sport, I had a little issue with handbrake boosting back then, so that helped a little. Turbo, I usually equip it but some cars are too powerful so with those I tend to not have it. Overall, great video, one thing I would like to add, is a few individual wheels actually adjust grip distribution, like giving or removing a little grip in the front or rear. Some adds anti-roll like the carbon wheels in the High End class, but those rims are known for increasing overall traction. Street rims have the same affect as muscle or SUV, but the grip levels are a little more noticable with different rims from that category, a lot of the thick tire options have more strong rear grip, and the steelies actually give high rear grip (granted this still isn't in the extreme, but it still helps) Oddly enough, the steelies in the offroad category give some understeer. Broughy and a few from his group made a document going over a lot of stuff. I can't post the link in youtube comments, but go to his website, go to vehicle upgrades, and try to find it in there.

Gonna be honest though, I don't believe anything when it comes to wheels altering a car's grip distribution - I did see Chilli's document talking about that and it seems pretty in-depth, but I can almost guarantee Rockstar didn't put nearly as much detail in when they programmed GTA 5's car physics. Maybe offroads are a bit different because of the tires-can-clip thing, but the rest of it is complete placebo in my opinion.

Ik this video is 1y old but yes, SUV and (lowriders) tires are the most slippery tires in the game, slippery tires list (with proven data) Lowriders tires SUV tures Tuner tires Tuner tires testing myself I found they are about 2-3% more slippery than SUV and Lowriders tires and also tested if this adds up with low grip on and yes, it does the car slides more with Tuner and low grips on which comes pretty handy, if u don't like Tuner tires just go with SUV or Lowriders ones, muscle tires in the other hand? They are as grippy as street and high end tires, grippiest tires in the game are track and off road tires, it's a very important topic in the drift so that's why I wanted to bring it up.

A bit of both. Slow drifting shouldn't be too hard to learn at all, and the tactics are different than what's used in high-speed drifts - check out my beginner drifting tutorial if you wanna learn more about that! As for upgrades, go for the most slippery setup (full upgrades, stance, and low-grips) and tune as necessary.
Great video, however forgot to teach ho to accelerate, brake and hand break while drifting. In my experience I always star a drift with a power slide tapping the hand break to control oversteer and tapping breakers to control under steer

This video was made long before drift tuning was added. For the drift tuning cars, I have an updated guide specific to those. For other cars that don't have access to the tuning, this guide still applies.
Yeah unfortunately Rockstar blue-balled us all and removed it from the in-game website. If you session hop a decent amount and drive around Vinewood then it should spawn on the street though; then you can steal it and keep it.
A thing I noticed with stancing was scooting really close to your rim and aiming a sniper at the edge of the rim towards the ground and I shoot 5 times I’ve found this works for most if not all my cars
Yup, you can stance almost every car by shooting in the wheelwell but it'll take a bit more time to line up your shot. In some others it's a bit easier as you can just shoot the wheels.

If you purchase a membership in the LS Car Meet you should be able to access the mod shop. Once you've got your car in there, go into wheels, then tire enhancements, and there you'll have the option to equip low-grip tires.
No, only a couple recent DLC vehicles and cars from the LS Tuners DLC have the stancing option through the interaction menu. For most other cars, you'll have to do it manually.
Awesome video. Just wanted to throw this out there for some of those odd cars that are difficult to stance. You can actually line up the alloy portion of the rim below the second large screw/silver part in the brake caliper and then just shoot the rim in that location to get it stanced. I find this works out better with rims that have more alloy such as the endo v2 rims or anything similar. For example, this works with the massacaro which is one of those difficult vehicles to work with when stancing.
Thanks man! I will say though, based on all the testing I've done, rim type doesn't affect stancing at all. The amount of damage the car takes when you stance it is largely influenced by the hitbox for the fuel tank and engine, which are both just behind the front/rear wheels. If cars can't be stanced by just shooting in that area of the rim, the only reliable way to do it is by shooting in the gap or towards the bottom portion of the fenders as discussed in the video - this is because you're shooting in a different spot to avoid hitting either hitbox. Occasionally there's flukes with this and adding armor can make it a bit easier, but rim type won't change anything.
@@StevieWunderKid I stance some of the most difficult cars including the 900r and the massacro by shooting the rims or the rim spoke over the brake calipers all the time without issues. Cars similar to the 900r are able to be lowered in between the lip and the brake rotor. Cars llike the massacro are a little more difficult so you can aim for the caliper area while hitting the rim. I recommend this because if you're attempting to get any kind of clips or photos, your car look look nicer without damaged fenders. I also mentioned rims similar to the endo's is because of those types of rim having larger alloy spokes so your room for error when shooting is much smaller. I've done loads of testing on a lot cars so I know these methods both work.
It was removed for purchase off of the in-game websites, so you'll have to steal it off of the street, buy it off of a friend, or wait for it to be released at a dealership.

I suggested a car to try out, left references to my videos where I showcase other great drift cars, explicitly told you where to go to apply all of the upgrades, and explained that not every car in this game will be able to drift. Easy to used 40-50% tap gas and 1 or 2 hit e-hand brake then hit full gas and pull slow gas off in between 40-50 keep tap gas dat how drift smoothly

I can’t seem to find low grip tires
If you purchase a membership in the LS Car Meet you should be able to access the mod shop. Once you've got your car in there, go into wheels, then tire enhancements, and there you'll have the option to equip low-grip tires.

Does any car from southern sanadreas have vehicle stance?
No, only a couple recent DLC vehicles and cars from the LS Tuners DLC have the stancing option through the interaction menu. For most other cars, you'll have to do it manually.

Make a gt3 car
Awesome video. Just wanted to throw this out there for some of those odd cars that are difficult to stance. You can actually line up the alloy portion of the rim below the second large screw/silver part in the brake caliper and then just shoot the rim in that location to get it stanced. I find this works out better with rims that have more alloy such as the endo v2 rims or anything similar. For example, this works with the massacaro which is one of those difficult vehicles to work with when stancing.
Thanks man! I will say though, based on all the testing I've done, rim type doesn't affect stancing at all. The amount of damage the car takes when you stance it is largely influenced by the hitbox for the fuel tank and engine, which are both just behind the front/rear wheels. If cars can't be stanced by just shooting in that area of the rim, the only reliable way to do it is by shooting in the gap or towards the bottom portion of the fenders as discussed in the video - this is because you're shooting in a different spot to avoid hitting either hitbox. Occasionally there's flukes with this and adding armor can make it a bit easier, but rim type won't change anything.
@@StevieWunderKid I stance some of the most difficult cars including the 900r and the massacro by shooting the rims or the rim spoke over the brake calipers all the time without issues. Cars similar to the 900r are able to be lowered in between the lip and the brake rotor. Cars llike the massacro are a little more difficult so you can aim for the caliper area while hitting the rim. I recommend this because if you're attempting to get any kind of clips or photos, your car look look nicer without damaged fenders. I also mentioned rims similar to the endo's is because of those types of rim having larger alloy spokes so your room for error when shooting is much smaller. I've done loads of testing on a lot cars so I know these methods both work.

Make sure you're at the LS Car Meet, that's the only place where they can be equipped.

Make sure you're in GTA Online, then drive to the LS Car Meet. If you haven't purchased the LSCM membership from Mimi you might need to do that too.

It was removed for purchase off of the in-game websites, so you'll have to steal it off of the street, buy it off of a friend, or wait for it to be released at a dealership.

I suggested a car to try out, left references to my videos where I showcase other great drift cars, explicitly told you where to go to apply all of the upgrades, and explained that not every car in this game will be able to drift.
