i'm finding that as i consume French media, i have to return to grammar videos for a refresher (as in, ".. i /know/ i should know what "ceux" means, but i've clearly forgotten .. i guess i have to review it now"). whenever i return to once of Parapluie's videos, i find myself freshly amused; i wonder how many takes it took him to record the first seven seconds, with his rapid-fire articulations of all these C-words, haha.

It's always good to review what you have already learnt. It's easy to forget that studying something does not mean mastering it, so definitely come back for a refresher whenever you need it.
I'm afraid I can't remember how many takes this took, but knowing me I probably spent far too long on it!

@7:05 what is the difference between using "Celui-ce" to replace "Le Président", and using "Il" to replace it?

Celui-ci is roughly equivalent to 'the former' in English, so refers directly to the last person mentioned. You could use 'il' but it's less formal and can be ambiguous if you've previously mentioned more than one masculine noun. Does that make sense?

You said "ce" isn't followed by a noun but I'm sure I've seen "ce sont"...? To mean" these are" or" they are", I may be mistaken of course

***** To be fair I've only ever seen "ce" followed by "sont" so I guess it's just an exception. Merci pour l'explication

The Ce in C'est and Ce sont is more of a pronoun.
The Ce in ce livre is a demonstrative.
They look the same but are not.

french, why did you make that and these sound so similar. confusing much?
would you really want to paint the stop button and start button very similar shades of red, instead of red and something completely different from red??
    come on.
