Hey! Just putting it out there, you are eligible for MSc programs in dentistry even after taking the equivalency exams. OMFS or Ortho might be hard, however the other specialties are very much possible! Take care!
@@omotayoolaoluwaesan hello, the diploma can take anywhere from 18 months to 36 months depending on where you apply. For example Toronto College of Dental Hygienists is a 18 month Diploma course and colleges like George brown is 36 months. And the cost is about $20,000 per year. Which is about $10,000 per semester. Total cost of the entire program can touch more than $60,000 CAD.
Hey for sure so considering you complete and pass all exams in the equivalency process and also get through the boards exam afterwards, you can be considered a General Practitioner of Dentistry.
If I want to start DDS course after appearing for AFK exam,is it a must to be a PR,or what method can be taken to enroll after getting AFK score and i am not a PR in Canada
A permanent residence is required to be in a university studying DDS. So I would highly recommend going through the AFK while you are in your work permit and by the time you apply for University, you can be eligible for all routes.
But to get in an IDAPP or internationally dentist advanced placed program, they require PR or Canadian citizenship..in all universities! What should I do about that? I'm moving to Canada next year and I'm still confused since now the licensing has become so difficult with 4 exams to pass! How did you get placed? Do lemme know please.
Yes, you are right. So I recommend going through the student visa, then during work permit study for AFK, and apply for university, by the time you get to the stage where you apply for university, you would have finished you NDEB equivalency and studied for AFK, once your work permit turns in to PR, you can apply for university. Meanwhile, you can finish AFK early and go through the ACJ and ACS as well after which you can also take University route and who knows maybe you get a licences and you could be okay with it as well. So it is a matter of starting in your work permit time.
To be able to qualify for dentistry in Canada, one must have a degree in science which is equal to Canadian standards. Therefore, majority of aspirants take on BDS first, because after BDS in India, we can apply for Dental license through a series of exams.
Hi doc first of all Thankuu so much for such a informative video. Hello, so your first goal should be to achieve PR and to get into student visa through to work permit and PR, you need a solid two year course and preferable in health field such as health care management, health care administration. This way you can have a stable job as well in your work permit time where you can study for NDEB as well.
To get admission in to DDS in a university, you need a permanent residence. Although by the time student visa applicants approach the entrance level, they generally are through the work permit period.

It is not impossible for you to come s peds dentist here but it is more likely you will become a DDS general dentist.
Hi bro I am a dentist, with experience of 6 years in India. I am willing to move to Canada and have applied for PR, can you let me know the procedure to get the license being a dental doctor, the period of time taken for that and the job opportunities regarding my profession, that would help me out in many ways. Thank you
Vishnu kumar JK hello doc for sure I can help. Assuming you are a PR in the near future, you can directly appear for NDEB equivalency process for getting a dental license in Canada. There are three major exams that you must clear and then a set of board exams that every dental student in Canada takes. This process can take anywhere from 2-5 years depending on how you perform sir. The job opportunities are high in demand for health care workers including dentists. The salaries can range anywhere from $70,000 to $140,000 depending on where you are in the country and your position in a clinic. Well experienced dentist in Canada can earn upto $200,000 as per my observation. Hope this helped doc!
10 THINGS ABOUT. Yes you may do dental nursing after 12th and the scopes are simply average. Your job hours are between 30-40 hours per week and your salary can begin at $20 per hour depending on where you are in the country. This is average statistics.
sunil dev Ofcourse, you must apply online through the specific college’s website. After which you will receive a list of requirements from the college and once you fulfil them, you will be awarded the admission in that course.
sunil dev scopes of MBA and MHA are very well to do in Canada. Good permanent jobs and high paying as well although I would recommend taking MHA since you have a health care background.
Shifa faizal Habib hello doc so the United states works a little different. They now have an exam called INBDE which now clubs both part 1 and part 2 as previously done separately. Once you clear those exams you are eligible to apply for the DDS program at a University there. You must wait to be accepted and then go through the four years of DDS and clear the national boards to become a licensed dentist. While in Canada, you can still become a Licensed Dentist by taking exams through the equivalency process of NDEB.
@@TheToothFactory hello thank you the video, please as an international student do still need to go through a 4 yrs degree to get DDS in Canada, i initially thought it was a 2 year degree instead of 4 for foreign students
@@omotayoolaoluwaesan hello so for canada, international dentists can practice in two ways. One is the exam route through NDEB exams which can get you a license to practice and a university route which can get you a degree. This route can take from 2-4 years to complete depending on which university you apply to. Now a days the international dental advanced placement program which is IDAPP can take 3 years after you apply to it and grt accepted. Here is a link for details. We have made a video on how to become a a dentist in Canada. th-cam.com/video/a7eClE_mX_8/w-d-xo.html
Archana Mohankumar yes doc, if order for you to work as a dentist in Canada you must first achieve a license to practice and this is done through the NDEB process. Now for you to be able to begin NDEB you presence in Canada is must and for that you must achieve a stable stature in Canada. Therefore you may need to consider getting a student visa to begin with. Please provide me with your email so I can share my guide to you.
Hey, I wanna be a dentist in Canada, do I need a particular bachelor degree, I want to get a bachelor in public health from Canada, I will take pee reqs for dentalcollege, hope Thaz accepted
Hello, you answered it! When you apply for the BSc degree that will get you in to DDS, you will be asked to complete prerequisites and then complete the BSc, any BSc in sciences and the DDS.
Hello Doctor, I respect your sentiment and believe it or not, getting through this process is just as draining. Although, the standardization of Canadian Dentistry is highly rewarding. The NDEB has also taken into account the affordability in the recent year and have changed their fees to cheaper costs for the AFK and Registration as well.
Hello, doctor I'm thinking in applying to dental assistant in Canada, if I do this program. I could apply for post working permit? And my dream is to become a dentist in canada
Dental joker yes doctor you can achieve your work permit after dental assisting but if you are willing to get through your PR application your career choice must be under a certain class of class A or B or O. Dental assisting is class C . This means it disqualifies your credential in your PR application. So I recommend reconsideration in the choice of your course accordingly.
@@TheToothFactory oh thank man, I think to making a diploma in OTA/PA (ocuppational therapy asistant) because I want to live in Canada before to study and working there.

Sure, once you finish BDS you can apply to come to Canada on student visa and your first goal should be to achieve a PR and in the process let the NDEB give you equivalency for taking Dental exams. Once you cleared that process you can take the three exams AFK, ACJ and ACS to become a practicing dentist in Canada and you can use your student visa route to get your PR.e

sunil dev Ofcourse, you must apply online through the specific college’s website. After which you will receive a list of requirements from the college and once you fulfil them, you will be awarded the admission in that course.
sunil dev scopes of MBA and MHA are very well to do in Canada. Good permanent jobs and high paying as well although I would recommend taking MHA since you have a health care background.
THE TOOTH FACTORY THANKS 👍 for the information......
Hey i am a dental student in india after bds i wish to move to usa so how can i pursue dds der and hw many more i should study??
We have made a video on how to become a a dentist in Canada.

what type of dentist are you?
I am trained in India and a BDS. I am now in Canada getting through my license process.
Sir I completed my bds from india.can u guide me to work in canada
Archana Mohankumar yes doc, if order for you to work as a dentist in Canada you must first achieve a license to practice and this is done through the NDEB process. Now for you to be able to begin NDEB you presence in Canada is must and for that you must achieve a stable stature in Canada. Therefore you may need to consider getting a student visa to begin with. Please provide me with your email so I can share my guide to you.

Can dentists make 500k in canada? Nice video.
As a salary not up to 500k but as a business you may be able to touch it at some point.
Dentistry in Canada costs more than anyone can afford. Outrageous greed .
Because I'm a second years dental school in my country domican republic but I researched about to program for dentist international and are very expensive and for that. I want to get to PR first and then apply for dental school in Canada. I'M 21 YEARS OLD this is my dream bro

I am a dental student
Can u plz guide me how can i practice in canada after bds
N from where u have graduated?
Sure, once you finish BDS you can apply to come to Canada on student visa and your first goal should be to achieve a PR and in the process let the NDEB give you equivalency for taking Dental exams. Once you cleared that process you can take the three exams AFK, ACJ and ACS to become a practicing dentist in Canada and you can use your student visa route to get your PR.e
