You're absolutely correct. The Creator is Frankenstein. The monster's name in the book is Adam, and by the way Frankenstein is not a doctor in the book, he never finishes school.
Frankenstein is by every reasonable measure the parent of the Monster. Denying him his father’s name is just one more form of rejection and abuse the creature suffered. Frankenstein was always the villain.
@@conraddickinson24 "I ought be thy Adam, but am rather the fallen angel." The Creature is never named in the novel, although there a parallel to Adam in the story, The Creature comes to consider himself as closer to Satan than anyone else.
I found Roger Corman's "Frankenstein Unbound" to be closest to the book, that is, the events seen by the time traveller are closest ever filmed to the book. And there's a twist in the making of the monster's mate that "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein" clearly ripped off from this movie.
Hold on there! Victor Frankenstein is NOT a doctor. Nor is he a Baron. He is a college student, and his "monster" is a sort of independent study project. I doubt that this new movie will be much closer to Mary Shelley's incredible novel that any other "adaptation". The creature's coming to life in the novel is a rather quiet and subtle event: no thunder storm or electrical apparatus or anything of the sort--just a single candle about to go out and dull rain pattering against the window on a "dreary night in November". Take some time to read the novel. It really is much better and much much more profound than any film version
Personally I’m sick of the same old stories being remade… Ken Branagh made a decent version. Why redo it again? Del Toro (imho) lost his touch 5-6 films ago as a director. The magic of Pan’s Labyrinth is along time ago.
My favorite director in his best subject matter
Loved The Strain. Looking forward to the Frankenstein movies. Mary Shelley’s book will probably be the best, choice, now and forever.
Del Toro is larger than Wells at his largest.
Better watch his health.
Del Toro needs to complete his Mountains at Madness by H.P. Lovecraft first?
Last I heard, this was not going to happen.
@@Metaphyve And we have THREE goddamn Sonic films. Humanity is truly lost.
Absolutely, but it never seems to get off the ground, I suspect his vision for this epic story would just be too expensive a risk?
My God man, Frankenstein is the name of the monster's creator, not the monster.
Yeah. It's Frankenstein's monster in the book .
Dr. Frankenstein .
Nobody cares and will still call him Frankenstein.

I feel like kristoff Walts would make a great Victor Frankenstein.
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein Was The Closest To The Book 📚
1998

Not sure why i got suicide squad joker vibes when i saw Christian Bale as the monster moving his hair back and the chest tattoo.
Del toro is good, this should be a great film
Abby Who?
You left out the excellent Frankenstein from Penny Dreadful.
jacob elordi ! eager to see tht one.....
He's call "it" Frankenstein's Monster🎉
Bale looks terrible at the monster...suicide squad cringe
very cool

If you stuck to the book in the way you describe the film wouldn't make a penny.
Wish Del Toro would do cosmic horror
If I recall, he did Cabinet of Curiosities on Netflix with many various directors for each episode. I got to see it and they're so good!
@sapphirejade5029 I'm waiting for the second season too. That's why I say that but with him direction. That is an awesome show.
What happened to Mountains of Madness?
What about frankenweiner?!?

He's a PROMETHEUS. Not monster
TRUE ENOUGH, but " Prometheus " doesn't sell as well as " monster ", unfortunately.....
That title is actually used on the front of the novel - 'the new Promethius'
In the age of human cloning (whilst still being kept secret). It makes sense that Frankenstein is becoming so popular again.
I guess they lack writer's to come up with new subject matter??? Remaking movies instead of creating new movies!!!
Idiotic robo-voice, lame "AI"-generated "writing," some of the most boring visuals ever. Let's have some actual human content.
