23:48 Perfectly stated, about goals. It wasn't "beat Arslan," it wasn't "win the tournament," it was playing how you wanted to play without buckling under the pressure. The wins come naturally when your goals are things you can control, and even if the wins _don't_ come, your mental is still so much better because you _know_ you're improving.

I fucking love your perspective and your story with what went into that pop-off and why it all meant so much to you. I totally get it, I'm 26 myself from a similar background and that sort of "this is just the most I can top out at in life" feeling is super real and believing that its not and finding a way to break through it is one of the hardest parts of growing into your best self. New viewer, love what you bring to fighting games, cant wait to see what you'll do next

I've been following you for a while. Despite the pfp, I'm not even a Tekken player, I always played 2D mostly (SF, KOF, NRS, DBFZ, among others) but when I wanted to get back into Tekken for a tournament in my country, with a big cashprize and all expenses covered for a big tournament in Europe, I watched your content. Jack is my character since T6 when I still didn't know a thing about FGs and I started playing Tekken in Tag2.
So despite not playing Tekken seriously, I wanted to participate in that tournament. I didn't win, but I can say you helped me in what I achieved out there, and some dedicated Tekken folks said my performance was impressive. I have all the best Tekken players in my country available to play with me. I was coached by the French G, also. So yeah... I miraculously made it to top8 and even a bit beyond. That's already in part thanks to you.
But then this happened, I sadly wasn't there right as it happened but I rewinded.
That, and the text under your Twitch channel, makes you one of the biggest inspiration I have in the FGC as a whole.
I was a high-level Counter-Strike player, with FGs being really on the side. I was just like you, fueled by self-hatred, my approach of CS was unhealthy as fuck. At some point, I needed help to pull the plug. Thankfully, I was never agressive towards anyone but myself, at my worst
I think about your post and what you did that day very frequently. Now, whatever big name I encounter, I know everything is possible. I'm not settled on a game yet, I'm still a small time competitor... i'm not even really settled on a game yet... I'm still young.
    Thank you Phidx.

wish I could like this video more than once, that ending there about how your mindset changed and you straight away got results is inspiring. feel like a lot of us are aiming way too high and getting dissapointed when our expectations are not met, which is so demotivating when it happens. the way you bounced back from that is amazing man, ggs wp! the grind is finally paying off!

Going through T7, even before we got close Phi, I’ve always admired your work ethic & how focused you were on the mental aspect of the game. You were truly someone I looked up to even before we got close, the ICFC top 8s, the wins, how you’d pick yourself back up & the grind. Fastforward and now we’re like co-students and warmup partners, my opinion of you has only risen, more and more proud of one of my closest homies that finally achieved what all the long talks were about. Everytime I think back to this set and rewatch the moment I get emotional so allow me lol. Love u bro

The primal nature of your scream is one that we all can relate to if we've ever tried to accomplish something and failed over and over and over and over again. It is fueled by the resolve of belief in yourself. This is how you scream when you stand at the Pinnacle of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, planting YOUR flag atop the mountain of self actualization. #respect.

So I’m very late to this because I just hadn’t felt compelled to keep up with the game recently but I just wanted to say I was losing my mind watching the VoD of this tournament, alternating between intense nerves and blazing pride.
This was incredible by you, not just beating him, but *the way* you beat him. An incredible show of growth. Loved the emotion in the pop off, so well earned, felt like I could feel your sense of accomplishment through the screen.
I’m struggling a little to put words to it but I just really wanted to genuinely express the joy I got out of watching your performance here and against Chikurin. Incredible.
Can’t wait to see what you do through the rest of the tour.

Before I gave up the course, I was going in to the field of sports psychology, I don't know if you ever did therapy, but the way you explained your inner struggles and your mindset is exactly what therapists do to help a athlete perform in a competitive setting. At the highest level, the mental aspect can be the determining factor between two athletes.

I'm relatively new to the competitive Tekken gaming scene (I'm an old Tekken 3 player myself). I understand the loser of a game can change character and/or stage before the next game, but this is the first I've heard of P2 side being a disadvantage for pro players (although I always assumed it might be). Is the loser able to switch sides before the subsequent game? If not, why not? I suppose you could pull of certain grabs even if cancelled to get a preferred side.

    • @ZiyaB3ast
      @ZiyaB3ast ปีที่แล้ว

Thank You for sharing your story. It was inspiring & motivating. I have a few questions regarding Tekken 7 which you mentioned in the video.
You mentioned offline PS4 lag combined with streaming setup. Is it different from a non-stream PS4 offline setup? What are the differences between different setups in this game? How different is PS4 Tekken from PC? Thanks for reading.
PS:- I have a personal question to ask which I request you to answer only if you are comfortable in answering. You mentioned about your Asian upbringing. Which Asian ethnicity do you belong to? I'm just curious. Sorry if I offended you.
Best of luck for your future! I wish that you overcome many more demons of yours & achieve many more milestones. Have a great day !!!
