From the moment I saw him under the piano, I thought the poor guy was probably suffering from extreme anxiety. I just saw his interview on the "q on cbc" channel, where he talks about feeling terrible all the time. Ironic when you consider how his music helps other people.
look up Nekrogoblikon. They featured his song in one of theirs on their Heavy Meta album....the energy is phenomenal, and I think they have taken quite an influence from Andrew W.K....
I gotta say I had a giant question mark over my head. In the end, a man who must party hard simply must party hard. Never stop partying, Andrew W.K.! We could all learn a valuable lesson from you.

It's incredible how there was a small amount of time when this guy was the biggest pop music act in the world. It's so rare for a such a bonafide artist to get that kind of success. This encapsulates how I've always felt toward art which its all about the energy and intention and the form or aesthetic is less important. I think if we could feel wonderful energy all the time I'd be ok with no art existing at all

Honestly i like the aspect of two Andrew WKs. This Andrew is the one in the I Get Wet album cover, but not the one in DBD. His character is a lot more chillaxe bro party god vibes. The other one, probably the one thats more active, embodies a more wholesome, inspirational image, less chill and artistically weird performative as this Andrew. Hes the one that appears in pretty much all the live shows I think. The two characterizations are charming separately, and I dont ever prefer one over the other.

did you actually listen to the orchestration of the piano playing? Phenomenal and exquisitely pre-practiced. Nothing random.... especially when they showed a moment of his foot work on the pedals. This guy can play. Frantic is a thing to be embraced!

I tend to find his improvisations, such as those he did that were recently uploaded to the NPR Tiny Desk concert channel to be a bit boogey-woogey, with a mix of ragtime. But this is certain, if we wants to write a song on the piano, he knows how to- if he but take the time to flesh it out. Also, his playing of Bach is really beautiful.
Being weird just for the sake of being weird is super fucking annoying. I’ve heard of him but I’ve never seen him until tonight. I’d be just fine with never seeing him again.
