i really appreciate the emphasis on exploration and loot aquisition in the early editions. another way to put it is, that modern editions want to feel like video games, whereas most video games in the old days wanted to feel like ADnD.
I was able to get the same White Box including the Greyhawk booklet, a set of unused old dice, and a lead mini from a second-hand bookshop for $10.00 back in 2010. I prefer to go for walkabouts and see what I can find in various yard sales, second-hand bookshops and even Library bookshops.
I dont have a chance to watch live, but enjoy your content while at work. I appreciate what you create and best of luck with all that's going in this week. Look forward to your return.
The art in the thumbnail is, I believe, from a game that was published in the center-fold of a Dragon Magazine back in the 1980's. I believe it was called The Emperor's Treasure, or something like that. I still have the version that was reprinted in a Dragon Magazine game compendium that was put out somewhere in the 90's, I think. If it's not from that little game, the artwork is very similar.

well the video game aspect improves the thief. cause they were completely ass in these old editions. And it balances other classes
@@sonic-bbBalance is what screwed the game. Now everyone has magic skills and feats.

28:30 Is when introductions and gameplay actually starts.
Lynx: Fighter, Abner: Wizard, Theyen: Cleric, Turgo: Thief.
That is correct, we usually have some preamble before the game.

Back in my 1e days, our DM use to love saying 4 letters... D-I-F-O. Do It and Find Out. Loved those days when it was REALLY an adventure.
We're a bit edgier these days and say FAFO :D
First time checking out. Thanks!
