Guest Lecture 1: The relevance of organic farming for the future

The Namibian Organic Association (NOA) hosted a series of guest lectures in partnership with the Namibian University of Science and Technology (NUST) with a focus on organic agriculture. The series kicked off with an introduction to organic farming and its relevance for the future. Two organic farmers and certified leaders from the IFOAM Ecological Organic Agriculture-Initiative, Kanangwa Newlove from Zambia and Mareike Voigts from Namibia, gave an introduction into organic farming, its history and relevance for human and environmental health especially in the face of climatic changes and in sustaining future generations; a concept highlighted in Loctaguna Organics’ motto (Kanangwa’s company): ‘There is no planet B’.
