Raiga Saezima that's not scary at all. A giant mesosaurus (or however you spell it) appearing out of nowhere and devouring both a pteranadon AND a fully grown woman is _very_ scary.
I usually watch one teaser/trailer if I know nothing of the film or series. If I want to see it then a 2nd or 3rd trailer won’t change my mind so I go into most movies knowing basically nothing. I love it this way.

They stated in the movie that the volcano was dormant at the time of Jurassic World, then became hyper active in the three years between the movies, reaching a crisis point about the time of this movie.

It weren't CGI, it was mostly robotics. You can find a museum of the original robotics used on the Big Island in Hawaii where it was shoot which ironically also had the recent volcano incident.

Disney with pirates and now sadly it feels like it with JP even doe I love and enjoy all of those movies even the last one JW and I probably still go see this one
Halo 5 is very comparable to this film. With cool story elements in the marketing (hunt the truth/dpg website) but next to no effort is made to include them into the main story.

I found it generic, nothing surprised me, the villains felt dull, and the second half felt like something out of dino crisis with resident evil plus slasher film, but that's me.

I was very disappointed by how the Indoraptor literally did nothing that made it seem unique other than the stupid laser gun thing. The Indominus Rex was way more badass and made the movie actually have a real sense of terror. This one was just kinda oh hey it's the Indoraptor in room Z of this mansion. Oh now its room C. Like wtf is this Resident Evil? lol
I was disappointed by the indoraptor too. If it needs a laser sight and audio component to lock in a target, then it's way easier for someone pointing a laser sight to just put the laser on a gun and shoot the target - why use a dinosaur?
I DEFINITELY agree with this 100%. They had good jump scares but the indoraptor was not scary enough to me, the indominus rex was definitely scarier. The indoraptor wasn't as smart as I wanted it to be. I wanted more scenes of the indoraptor outsmarting the humans making it a big threat but all it really did was just brute force.
Anthony Merriweather II it killed some grunts, and struggled to kill an 8 year old. I have no idea why it obsessed over the child either? It could have killed the other two but left for her. It should have kicked the shit out of blue yet struggled. It was meant to better.

I feel like that's not a very good argument, though. People also complain about the fact that they let the dinosaurs out and how they'd kill us very quickly, all the while also complaining about how we 'd be able to kill militarized dinos very quickly. Contradicting arguments.

I'm in the same boat. Started binge watching his reviews lately and wanted to see his Jurassic Park/World Playlist as I've just watched Jurassic World Dominion. In both of his Spoiler-Free and Spoiler videos he kept saying how much fun he had with the film and how exciting it was as a movie. Now, in this review, he is calling it a disappointment? In this review, he says that Claire was bad in the first movie and made mistake after mistake, but if you watch his original review of Jurassic World that isn't what he thought at all, he actually said her character was great and went in an unexpected direction (which is actually true). It seems to me that his opinion of Jurassic World has faded over time along with his memory of it, he needed to really watch the film again, or at least watch his own review of it again, before he did this review.
He never said he “absolutely loved it.” In fact he said in that review he didn’t think the movie was great and kind of just thought it was decently enjoyable. He pointed out many flaws he had with it. He mentioned the screenplay, pointless characters, noticeable cgi, and the film having a shallow core being all big problems he had with it but none the less overall he enjoyed it. But he’s always had issues with it and thought it should have been better. You’re being disingenuous to say he “absolutely loved that film” because at no point do I ever get that vibe watching his review of Jurassic World. He’s always had problems with it. The opening pre-title scene is the best 5 minutes of this entire movie. Your analogy is spot on, friend, and you've articulated thoughts I have also had towards this movie in a very calculated way. I never realized though until you pointed it out how epic that build to the T-Rex in the original Jurassic Park was.
I enjoyed the film, but can’t imagine watching it again. The scene with Pratt, not being able to move his limbs, whilst the lava approaches him, was hilarious. But, kinda agree with your points. It had issues.
Probably the biggest case of tonal clash I've seen in any movie in a very long time. The first and second halves are essentially completely different movies, the former being a Micheal Bay-esque explosion fest and the latter with cartoonishly cheesy villains who make another new dinosaur, at which point it suddenly tries to be a horror movie. There are some well-done scenes of tension individually, but the pacing is completely off. Also, the ending is the stupidest thing I've seen in my life.
Mustev not the scene... The choice that the kid makes to let the dinosaurs lose in the open. There is a reason we don't live along with the wild animals in real life. There is a reason they live in the jungle or in the zoos but not part of everyday life - because they are very much untameable.
I couldn't agree more. My wife was pissed at me because I kept saying "Oh, come on" at the ridiculousness. I couldn't help it. I there's no excuse for bad story lines. Also, it seems that the laws of physics (and physiology) are pretty much absent in Jurassic World
I just saw this and actually really enjoyed it. I liked the shift, and the little twist regarding a certain young character was pretty cool too. The Indo-raptor was cool too. Overall I'd give it a pleasantly surprised 7/10

About that last part. They mentioned Sorna by name in the movie... And they specifically said that they were supposed to release the dinosaurs on a different island (probably because Sorna is still owned by InGen/Masrani) It was Mills who chose to bring the dinos to the mainland.
Also, Sorna is part of the same archipelago; all of the islands are volcanic. If Nublar - long dormant - has now become violently active, it's not long before Sorna and/or the other "Five Deaths" islands suffer similar catastrophic events. It was explained in The Lost World that Site B (and Jurassic Park on Nublar) ran off of geothermal energy so as to never need replenishing. Still, it's a bit of a plot hole that they didn't discuss just moving the animals back to Site B; I can't deny that. Overall, I really enjoyed this movie - more than I enjoyed Jurassic World/JP4. I give Fallen Kingdom/JP5 a B+; it did a lot of things well and took quite a few steps in the right direction for fixing the franchise.

I remembered how much I loved it, and I made it second place in my favorites. Jurassic Park will forever be the masterpiece to top the sequels, in my opinion. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is third. I still love it, though.
What? No memorable scenes? You have to at least acknowledge the dock scene. That was way better and more emotional than anything in the previous film. They also set up everything for the next movie nicely. Jurassic World indeed. This movie doesn't deserve this grade AT ALL.
Iván Iglesias The dock scene haunted me hours after. Not to mention the opening sequence was awesome, as well as shorter moments, like a certain shot of a dino on the roof, any scene involving Rexy or Blue and the creepy bedroom scene.

Watched the original in theaters when I was 5 as well. Really inspired my fascination with the sciences and filmmaking. Glad I didn't have a huge bubble hindering my development growing up.
My 6th grade teacher got permission from our parents to show Jurassic Park to us in school. So that's 10 - 12 year olds. I don't recall any kid not being allowed to watch it. So yeah I assume that most kids are allowed to watch it before the age of 10, which I'd probably still do for my son when he gets to that age. I can't wait to share all those things I love with him. At age two and a half he's already asking to watch Terminator 2 ("the skeleton movie"). I tell him when he gets a little older, maybe 13. He looks forward to it.
Actually, Sorna does have a volcano on the island. If you pay attention to the dialogue in The Lost World, the reason the station near the end is still "active" is because like with the park on Nublar, the facilities on Sorna also run off of volcanic geothermal energy. What happened on Nublar could just as easily happen on Sorna.
When I found out that Colin Trevorrow was removed from Star Wars Episode 9 as the co-writer and director I felt pretty bad. Now after seeing the two Jurassic World films and Book of Henry I can see why that might have been the case. His directing abilities are serviceable at best but his attempts at screenwriting are just abysmal. Can't say I'm expecting anything from his return to this franchise as director to close out the Jurassic World trilogy.

Watch it yourself instead of listening to "critics". Personally I had a blast watching this movie. I got what I wanted; tons of actions, Owen Grady and dinos! Some of the cinematography is also like, amazingly gorgeous in this movie. Stop trying to compare this to the original, because no movie will beat that.

I watched it about 2 weeks ago and I can actually remember a lot of the scenes. I absolutely loved the movie and it is to me the second best of the franchise (best of course being the first one).
When you said "the villains are cartoon characters" you hit the nail on the problem with the Jurassic World movies (both of them). I think it's more than the villains, every character feels more cartoonish than the originals. When you watch Jurassic Park, it's a serious movie, with realistic characters and realistic interactions. Sure, there is a bit of humor in the first one, but it feels organic. Here you even have comedic relief characters, it's like... did we even need that?
So, Dennis Nedry never had any comedic moments? Also, a guy pulling out the teeth of living dinosaurs for a necklace doesn't mean anything to you at all? You don't see that as cruel? Or what about leaving Claire, Owen and Franklin on an island AS THE VOLCANO WAS ABOUT TO ERUPT?

In the Jurassic World movies the humor feels more based on sarcastic situations that only make sense for the viewer but don't feel organic for the characters as realistic interactions (it's basically Marvel like humor). And yes, the fact that there are serious situations in the JW movies doesn't mean anything if it's tainted with that stupid type of humor.

I respect your opinion, Chris, but for once I disagree. I saw JURASSIC PARK for the 1st time in theaters in 1993 at the age of 21, loved it then and still love it today. It is a classic, pure and simple. I really like THE LOST WORLD very much despite its messy story due to great characters and some breathtaking Spielbergian moments. I even like JURASSIC PARK III, mainly because of its fast pace and entertainment value. I love JURASSIC WORLD, because in the beginning it delivers exactly the vision John Hammond might have had about the park originally and overall it is real fun with some great action and likable characters, not as good directorially as, but with a better story than THE LOST WORLD. To me JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM is only a minor step down from the predecessor. I still like it very much, because it entertained me throughout and in the 3rd act it tries (successfully) to differentiate itself from the other movies in the franchise.

I actually love The Lost World as well, although I couldn't get into Julianne Moore in that film. Her acting seemed forced, and the gymnastic scene was a little much. Otherwise it felt more like the original more than the other ones did.
What’s the point of the indoRaptor if you need to tag the target with a laser and then a sound signal. At that point it would be easier to just shoot considering you would have your target in your sights.

I've seen this film twice so far. The soundtrack is incredible and some of the scenes look great. The CGI and anamatronics look great and I like the slightly darker tone than the previous films.

Even the action scenes were poor. At least Jurassic World had some awesome action sequences. The whole second half of this film was awful. Why set half of the film in a mansion? The only redeeming feature of this film is the CGI. This is just a filler movie for a trilogy.
I honestly didn't feel it was dark at all. I mean obviously there is some dark stuff happening, but the characters act in such a cartoonish fashion that I could not take anything seriously.

The great thing about this is I get to hear an honest reaction and review from a TH-camr I enjoy. The bad thing is I know over 80% of the comments and people who follow Chris will immediately make up their mind about this movie and how horrible it is before seeing one second of the film JUST because Chris didn’t like it. That to me is sad. I have a feeling I’ll enjoy this movie but who knows. I’m still going to see it but part of the fall of movie goers and movie fandom is that people have no self opinions anymore. The reason I latched onto this movie is because my heart ached for the dinosaurs. I was a sobbing mess. Sure, they can annihilate us in a second, but I was in the moment. Humans die, its sad. But if an (cgi) animal is harmed, the water works flow. But I had to look away during the scene with Indoraptor and the mercenary, tho. Yeah, I have soft heart and weak stomach.
Cmon, you need to digest a little bit more the movie. Too much comparison to the first Jurassic Park, those kind of movies can't be made these days. The same applies to why is not bloody. Fallen kingdom was better than what I expected and I had really low hopes after Jurassic World. It is not great but definitely better than Jurassic Park III. You didn't think the volcano scene was memorable? In this era you can't ask for a lot. It kept me entertained at least.
It has grown on me over the years, as I really didn't like it when it first came out. I like it quite a bit now, but it has taken a long time and many viewings for it to get to that point.

It's fun watching the action and the dinosaurs and I personally had a lot of fun with it. I don't look for flaws. Stuckmann today is essentially what Jeremy Jahns was back in 2009-2011

I got to disagree with you on this one Chris! I really loved this movie! I went into the theater excepting shit and I got a really enjoyable movie with some surprises that I didn’t expect to see. Yes the whole villain shit was awful and same goes with the turning Dinosaurs into weapons for military! But I liked the concept they were playing with! Selling Dinosaurs for entertainment and zoo purposes! It did what the Lost World did except added some new elements to it. This is definitely my third favorite Jurassic Park film! I completely agree with you on the first Jurassic World though. I feel like if you look at this movie as it’s own movie and don’t focus on the previous movies as a whole... I'm not really sure why weaponizing dinosaurs is such a far out notion. Even in the real world, the first question to be asked for new technology is "can it be militarized?" The parks have already turned dinosaurs into a commodity, so selling them as weapons would be the next step.

They will never be able to re-create the majesty of the first Jurassic Park movie, not in a million years. There was just too much magic involved in that film for it ever to be duplicated. Not only was it just a good, solid movie in of itself, when it came out audiences had never seen anything like it what with the dinosaurs and the animatronics and special effects. And if you time it, it took a good half of the movie before the "real" action even started! I was 16 when it came out in the movie theater, I was blown away. At that arm scene there was a lady who literally stood up and started screaming, "Did you see that? Did you SEE that?!" When was the last time anyone went to the movies and had a reaction like that?! I have absolutely zero desire to see this new Jurassic World film, I won't bother spending money to see this in the movie theater. I went to see Jurassic World in the theater, haven't bothered to watch it again. I didn't mind it, it just wasn't good. Plus, it drove me nuts when people that make movies think we're stupid about plot points. Like, really Owen?! Just spouting off to Hoskins (Vincent D'Onfrio) that "you wanted this to happen!" when things at the park went south didn't make Hoskins responsible because things went wrong. I seemed to remember Owen NOT listening to Claire, NOT waiting for her to get to the main security center where she could double check things and going into the huge dangerous new dinosaurs cage with big flabby slow ass donut man. Dora Z well it still counts as Jurassic world in a sense so your comment has nothing wrong with it. I admit that they do keep trying to capture the same magic the original Jurassic Park had back in 1993, but I think because it's not original anymore it kinda loses its touch a bit and it's even worse when the plot has no cause to the movie.
Haven't seen Fallen Kingdom yet but I thought the first Jurassic World was quite enjoyable. Maybe not 1.6 million dollars enjoyable (still can't believe it made that much) but enjoyable nonetheless. The OG Jurassic Park movie is one of my all time favorites but you can't have 5 movies in a series without some kind of change. I'm very much looking forward to Fallen Kingdom for this reason. It seems to be something different. I honestly got tired of dinosaurs only on the island cliche. Having them on the mainland was bound to happen. And I'll be there for Jurassic World 3 to see it.

Terrible Gamer I hadn't heard about Universal striking Chris' videos but, some of the smaller channels I follow that gave Disney's movies bad reviews were hit by them.
Sireth Universal is notorious for striking videos that use their footage. The channel "Mauler" made a lengthy video breaking down all of the problems with this same movie, using promotional footage from trailers and advertisements, and he has been copyright claimed 3 times after tweaking and changing his video in an attempt to comply with them.
Thought it was a fun movie. There were some unintentional funny moments of course like the beginning scene and the plot itself is so generic, but I was entertained and that's what matters to me.
I thought it was better than Jurassic World. Yes it turns into a different movie in the 2nd half, but that made it more intense for me. This was scarier than even the first Jurassic Park, well its on par with it. Not in terms of the movie itself, but the intensity. The relationship in this movie was better with Howard and Pratt than Jurassic World

There are numerous instances like that in Jurassic Park, but it adds to the tension, 'why are you doing that!!' screaming at the screen. And yeah actually the first movie make sense in fact so did the second, but this one made no sense at all the characters and the whole plot was dumb to me, and it all was just too predictable and that ruined any intensity for me when I already could tell what's gonna happen , and this is just how I felt about the movie you have your opinion and I have mine.
Before Jurassic world fallen kingdom everyone hated the lost world and when it came out people are saying the lost world is a masterpiece. rly people why do you hate every movie that comes out i dont understand . I really enjoyed jurassic world fallen kingdom and in my opinion its the best in the franchise .
because for something to be WORSE it needs a comparison. So in comparison jp2 and jp3 were not great following jp1 However now with more films to COMPARE with it is only logical people's views will grow with the others if they find the newer editions to be even worse yet. Just like how for many years people hated the prequel trilogy of star wars but now that is changing because they have last jedi to compare it too so the prequel status is now elevated in many people's eyes and by comparison are now great. Which again by comparison skyrockets even the original trilogy even more so than when you only had the prequels to compare too. With each new installment your perspective on the whole work of art or each individual section can improve or worsen.
Completely agree with you on this entire review! I thought this sequel was gonna be better than Jurassic World because the trailers looked really cool, they brought animatronics back...but omg. It was so much worse and so messy. When they were selling the dinosaurs I was like wtf are they gonna do with them? They can’t be trained, where are you gonna keep them? It was laughable.

I'm just glad were finally getting back onto the Crichton chaos theory road not the bullshit hey we built another park LOL. the first JW should have started where this ended sadly we had to ride through 2 films for this. and tbh its not like i hate JW its better than JP3 but this series needs that underlining plot puller back and this film teased it. also i side thing i would love to see a high budget series like GOT/LOTR series but of the first 2 Jp books to a tea and get that dark nature in although im glad jp didnt follow the book as much since kid me wouldn't have loved the film as much i think theirs an option for a great series there.

no its not as good as the first one something to do with gymnastics :D. but i do love LW and alot more recently as looking back at the RV scene and the quality of that scene the cinematography from Janusz Kamiński was outstanding and special effects esp the rex's amazing. also LW has one of my fav char from the films that being Roland Tembo shame Pete postlewaite passed away in 11 been great to have seen him once in one the JW films.

To be fair, that was in the original book. The park was powered up by the island's geothermal energy.
They stated in the movie that the volcano was dormant at the time of Jurassic World, then became hyper active in the three years between the movies, reaching a crisis point about the time of this movie.

It weren't CGI, it was mostly robotics. You can find a museum of the original robotics used on the Big Island in Hawaii where it was shoot which ironically also had the recent volcano incident.

Halo 5 is very comparable to this film. With cool story elements in the marketing (hunt the truth/dpg website) but next to no effort is made to include them into the main story.

I was very disappointed by how the Indoraptor literally did nothing that made it seem unique other than the stupid laser gun thing. The Indominus Rex was way more badass and made the movie actually have a real sense of terror. This one was just kinda oh hey it's the Indoraptor in room Z of this mansion. Oh now its room C. Like wtf is this Resident Evil? lol
I was disappointed by the indoraptor too. If it needs a laser sight and audio component to lock in a target, then it's way easier for someone pointing a laser sight to just put the laser on a gun and shoot the target - why use a dinosaur?
I DEFINITELY agree with this 100%. They had good jump scares but the indoraptor was not scary enough to me, the indominus rex was definitely scarier. The indoraptor wasn't as smart as I wanted it to be. I wanted more scenes of the indoraptor outsmarting the humans making it a big threat but all it really did was just brute force.

In this review, he says that Claire was bad in the first movie and made mistake after mistake, but if you watch his original review of Jurassic World that isn't what he thought at all, he actually said her character was great and went in an unexpected direction (which is actually true). It seems to me that his opinion of Jurassic World has faded over time along with his memory of it, he needed to really watch the film again, or at least watch his own review of it again, before he did this review.
He never said he “absolutely loved it.” In fact he said in that review he didn’t think the movie was great and kind of just thought it was decently enjoyable. He pointed out many flaws he had with it. He mentioned the screenplay, pointless characters, noticeable cgi, and the film having a shallow core being all big problems he had with it but none the less overall he enjoyed it. The opening pre-title scene is the best 5 minutes of this entire movie. Your analogy is spot on, friend, and you've articulated thoughts I have also had towards this movie in a very calculated way. I enjoyed the film, but can’t imagine watching it again. The scene with Pratt, not being able to move his limbs, whilst the lava approaches him, was hilarious. But, kinda agree with your points. It had issues.
Probably the biggest case of tonal clash I've seen in any movie in a very long time.
The first and second halves are essentially completely different movies, the former being a Micheal Bay-esque explosion fest and the latter with cartoonishly cheesy villains who make another new dinosaur, at which point it suddenly tries to be a horror movie. There are some well-done scenes of tension individually, but the pacing is completely off.
Also, the ending is the stupidest thing I've seen in my life.

Mustev not the scene... The choice that the kid makes to let the dinosaurs lose in the open. There is a reason we don't live along with the wild animals in real life. There is a reason they live in the jungle or in the zoos but not part of everyday life - because they are very much untameable.
I couldn't agree more. My wife was pissed at me because I kept saying "Oh, come on" at the ridiculousness. I couldn't help it. I there's no excuse for bad story lines. Also, it seems that the laws of physics (and physiology) are pretty much absent in Jurassic World

About that last part. They mentioned Sorna by name in the movie... And they specifically said that they were supposed to release the dinosaurs on a different island (probably because Sorna is still owned by InGen/Masrani) It was Mills who chose to bring the dinos to the mainland.
Also, Sorna is part of the same archipelago; all of the islands are volcanic. If Nublar - long dormant - has now become violently active, it's not long before Sorna and/or the other "Five Deaths" islands suffer similar catastrophic events. It was explained in The Lost World that Site B (and Jurassic Park on Nublar) ran off of geothermal energy so as to never need replenishing. Still, it's a bit of a plot hole that they didn't discuss just moving the animals back to Site B; I can't deny that. Overall, I really enjoyed this movie - more than I enjoyed Jurassic World/JP4. I give Fallen Kingdom/JP5 a B+; it did a lot of things well and took quite a few steps in the right direction for fixing the franchise.

I still love it, though.
What? No memorable scenes? You have to at least acknowledge the dock scene. That was way better and more emotional than anything in the previous film. They also set up everything for the next movie nicely. Jurassic World indeed. This movie doesn't deserve this grade AT ALL.

My 6th grade teacher got permission from our parents to show Jurassic Park to us in school. So that's 10 - 12 year olds. I don't recall any kid not being allowed to watch it. So yeah I assume that most kids are allowed to watch it before the age of 10, which I'd probably still do for my son when he gets to that age. I can't wait to share all those things I love with him.
At age two and a half he's already asking to watch Terminator 2 ("the skeleton movie"). I tell him when he gets a little older, maybe 13. He looks forward to it.

Actually, Sorna does have a volcano on the island. If you pay attention to the dialogue in The Lost World, the reason the station near the end is still "active" is because like with the park on Nublar, the facilities on Sorna also run off of volcanic geothermal energy. What happened on Nublar could just as easily happen on Sorna.
When I found out that Colin Trevorrow was removed from Star Wars Episode 9 as the co-writer and director I felt pretty bad. Now after seeing the two Jurassic World films and Book of Henry I can see why that might have been the case. His directing abilities are serviceable at best but his attempts at screenwriting are just abysmal. Can't say I'm expecting anything from his return to this franchise as director to close out the Jurassic World trilogy.

Literally the whole review he repeats himself time and time again reiterating that point. He never was “raving” about it. He’s always had many issues with the first movie but overall thought the positives outweighed the negatives. I genuinely don’t know what review you and everyone else saying “HE USE TO LOVE JURASsIC WORLD WTF” actually fucking watched. Seriously. When you said "the villains are cartoon characters" you hit the nail on the problem with the Jurassic World movies (both of them). I think it's more than the villains, every character feels more cartoonish than the originals. When you watch Jurassic Park, it's a serious movie, with realistic characters and realistic interactions. Sure, there is a bit of humor in the first one, but it feels organic. Here you even have comedic relief characters, it's like... did we even need that?
So, Dennis Nedry never had any comedic moments? Also, a guy pulling out the teeth of living dinosaurs for a necklace doesn't mean anything to you at all? You don't see that as cruel? Or what about leaving Claire, Owen and Franklin on an island AS THE VOLCANO WAS ABOUT TO ERUPT?

In the Jurassic World movies the humor feels more based on sarcastic situations that only make sense for the viewer but don't feel organic for the characters as realistic interactions (it's basically Marvel like humor). And yes, the fact that there are serious situations in the JW movies doesn't mean anything if it's tainted with that stupid type of humor.

I saw JURASSIC PARK for the 1st time in theaters in 1993 at the age of 21, loved it then and still love it today. It is a classic, pure and simple.
I really like THE LOST WORLD very much despite its messy story due to great characters and some breathtaking Spielbergian moments.
I even like JURASSIC PARK III, mainly because of its fast pace and entertainment value.
I love JURASSIC WORLD, because in the beginning it delivers exactly the vision John Hammond might have had about the park originally and overall it is real fun with some great action and likable characters, not as good directorially as, but with a better story than THE LOST WORLD.
To me JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM is only a minor step down from the predecessor. I still like it very much, because it entertained me throughout and in the 3rd act it tries (successfully) to differentiate itself from the other movies in the franchise.

I enjoyed this movie, it's my third favorite of the franchise, it's not as bad as people are making it out to be.
I actually love The Lost World as well, although I couldn't get into Julianne Moore in that film. Her acting seemed forced, and the gymnastic scene was a little much. Otherwise it felt more like the original more than the other ones did.

This sequel was what I wanted The Lost World that never went! I enjoyed, my Thursday & Friday audience fully enjoyed it.
What’s the point of the indoRaptor if you need to tag the target with a laser and then a sound signal. At that point it would be easier to just shoot considering you would have your target in your sights.
I mean... I loved this movie so much, I watched it two times. And I'm planning to watch for a third time.

I've seen this film twice so far. The soundtrack is incredible and some of the scenes look great. The CGI and anamatronics look great and I like the slightly darker tone than the previous films.

Even the action scenes were poor. At least Jurassic World had some awesome action sequences. The whole second half of this film was awful. Why set half of the film in a mansion?
The only redeeming feature of this film is the CGI. This is just a filler movie for a trilogy.
I honestly didn't feel it was dark at all. I mean obviously there is some dark stuff happening, but the characters act in such a cartoonish fashion that I could not take anything seriously.

The great thing about this is I get to hear an honest reaction and review from a TH-camr I enjoy. The bad thing is I know over 80% of the comments and people who follow Chris will immediately make up their mind about this movie and how horrible it is before seeing one second of the film JUST because Chris didn’t like it. That to me is sad. I have a feeling I’ll enjoy this movie but who knows. I’m still going to see it but part of the fall of movie goers and movie fandom is that people have no self opinions anymore. They’ll go where the over all wind blows. I've not seen it but to be fair, I did come out in the UK over two weeks ago.
The reason I latched onto this movie is because my heart ached for the dinosaurs. I was a sobbing mess. Sure, they can annihilate us in a second, but I was in the moment. Humans die, its sad. But if an (cgi) animal is harmed, the water works flow. But I had to look away during the scene with Indoraptor and the mercenary, tho. Yeah, I have soft heart and weak stomach.
Cmon, you need to digest a little bit more the movie. Too much comparison to the first Jurassic Park, those kind of movies can't be made these days. The same applies to why is not bloody. Fallen kingdom was better than what I expected and I had really low hopes after Jurassic World. It is not great but definitely better than Jurassic Park III. You didn't think the volcano scene was memorable? In this era you can't ask for a lot. It kept me entertained at least.

It has grown on me over the years, as I really didn't like it when it first came out. I like it quite a bit now, but it has taken a long time and many viewings for it to get to that point.

It's fun watching the action and the dinosaurs and I personally had a lot of fun with it. I don't look for flaws. Stuckmann today is essentially what Jeremy Jahns was back in 2009-2011

I got to disagree with you on this one Chris! I really loved this movie! I went into the theater excepting shit and I got a really enjoyable movie with some surprises that I didn’t expect to see. Yes the whole villain shit was awful and same goes with the turning Dinosaurs into weapons for military! But I liked the concept they were playing with! Selling Dinosaurs for entertainment and zoo purposes! It did what the Lost World did except added some new elements to it. This is definitely my third favorite Jurassic Park film! I completely agree with you on the first Jurassic World though. I feel like if you look at this movie as it’s own movie and don’t focus on the previous movies as a whole... I feel like people will appreciate it more. Again man this is my opinion! And trust me I totally where you are coming from. I look up to you Chris, but I need to have my own opinions
I'm not really sure why weaponizing dinosaurs is such a far out notion. Even in the real world, the first question to be asked for new technology is "can it be militarized?" The parks have already turned dinosaurs into a commodity, so selling them as weapons would be the next step.

They will never be able to re-create the majesty of the first Jurassic Park movie, not in a million years. There was just too much magic involved in that film for it ever to be duplicated. Not only was it just a good, solid movie in of itself, when it came out audiences had never seen anything like it what with the dinosaurs and the animatronics and special effects. And if you time it, it took a good half of the movie before the "real" action even started! I was 16 when it came out in the movie theater, I was blown away. At that arm scene there was a lady who literally stood up and started screaming, "Did you see that? Did you SEE that?!" When was the last time anyone went to the movies and had a reaction like that?! I have absolutely zero desire to see this new Jurassic World film, I won't bother spending money to see this in the movie theater. I went to see Jurassic World in the theater, haven't bothered to watch it again. I didn't mind it, it just wasn't good. Plus, it drove me nuts when people that make movies think we're stupid about plot points. Like, really Owen?! Just spouting off to Hoskins (Vincent D'Onfrio) that "you wanted this to happen!" when things at the park went south didn't make Hoskins responsible because things went wrong. I seemed to remember Owen NOT listening to Claire, NOT waiting for her to get to the main security center where she could double check things and going into the huge dangerous new dinosaurs cage with big flabby slow ass donut man. I think I was just channeling John Doe right there....maybe I should have posted this comment under your Jurassic World review, LOL!
Dora Z well it still counts as Jurassic world in a sense so your comment has nothing wrong with it. I admit that they do keep trying to capture the same magic the original Jurassic Park had back in 1993, but I think because it's not original anymore it kinda loses its touch a bit and it's even worse when the plot has no cause to the movie.

Haven't seen Fallen Kingdom yet but I thought the first Jurassic World was quite enjoyable. Maybe not 1.6 million dollars enjoyable (still can't believe it made that much) but enjoyable nonetheless. The OG Jurassic Park movie is one of my all time favorites but you can't have 5 movies in a series without some kind of change. I'm very much looking forward to Fallen Kingdom for this reason. It seems to be something different. I honestly got tired of dinosaurs only on the island cliche. Having them on the mainland was bound to happen. And I'll be there for Jurassic World 3 to see it.

Terrible Gamer I hadn't heard about Universal striking Chris' videos but, some of the smaller channels I follow that gave Disney's movies bad reviews were hit by them.
Sireth Universal is notorious for striking videos that use their footage. The channel "Mauler" made a lengthy video breaking down all of the problems with this same movie, using promotional footage from trailers and advertisements, and he has been copyright claimed 3 times after tweaking and changing his video in an attempt to comply with them.
Universal's parent company is very mad right now. Disney outbid with a second offer for Fox's movies.
Thought it was a fun movie. There were some unintentional funny moments of course like the beginning scene and the plot itself is so generic, but I was entertained and that's what matters to me.

It already came out 3 weeks ago in my country, the movie is very repetitive, dinosaurs try to attack the humans, they somehow escape and so on.
I thought it was better than Jurassic World. Yes it turns into a different movie in the 2nd half, but that made it more intense for me. This was scarier than even the first Jurassic Park, well its on par with it. Not in terms of the movie itself, but the intensity. The relationship in this movie was better with Howard and Pratt than Jurassic World

because for something to be WORSE it needs a comparison. So in comparison jp2 and jp3 were not great following jp1 However now with more films to COMPARE with it is only logical people's views will grow with the others if they find the newer editions to be even worse yet. Just like how for many years people hated the prequel trilogy of star wars but now that is changing because they have last jedi to compare it too so the prequel status is now elevated in many people's eyes and by comparison are now great. Which again by comparison skyrockets even the original trilogy even more so than when you only had the prequels to compare too. With each new installment your perspective on the whole work of art or each individual section can improve or worsen.

I'm just glad were finally getting back onto the Crichton chaos theory road not the bullshit hey we built another park LOL. the first JW should have started where this ended sadly we had to ride through 2 films for this. and tbh its not like i hate JW its better than JP3 but this series needs that underlining plot puller back and this film teased it. also i side thing i would love to see a high budget series like GOT/LOTR series but of the first 2 Jp books to a tea and get that dark nature in although im glad jp didnt follow the book as much since kid me wouldn't have loved the film as much i think theirs an option for a great series there.

no its not as good as the first one something to do with gymnastics :D. but i do love LW and alot more recently as looking back at the RV scene and the quality of that scene the cinematography from Janusz Kamiński was outstanding and special effects esp the rex's amazing. also LW has one of my fav char from the films that being Roland Tembo shame Pete postlewaite passed away in 11 been great to have seen him once in one the JW films.
