Thanks... I take about 4 pages of notes for each episode to make sure everything is covered, so that would be part of the reason. Even then, I sometimes miss stuff since there's so much to talk about.

    Thank you Tim.
When Mom and Bill lived in Venice, Fla. they would laugh at us kids when we'd say "Come to Wisconsin. Just til the storm passed". They would laugh so hard. "We never get Hurricanes here."
They've passed on since then. Bill would check on your forecasts occasionally, mostly because it calmed mom down. You have a way with your demeanor.
Thank you for all you do

I live in Brandon Florida, almost a suburb of Southeast Tampa. This was by far the best analysis I have seen. I am hoping it tracks more south. Thanks!

Fascinating analysis using a bunch of really neat models and visualization tools! Our technology and forecasting ability has really come a long way! This rate of intensification must be a record, Also of note I don't understand how a downgrade from a CAT5 to a CAT3 can make for a stronger storm surge seems counterintuitive?, Also devastating fact that I haven't heard that Tampa, is the most at risk city in the country for storm surge, and 150 billion conservative estimate of losses, OMG!. Praying for everyone!. Be smart evacuate!!Thanks for the update Tim!

Thank you, Tim! MacDill started clearing aircraft on Sunday, I believe. Here in Clearwater we are boarded up and preparing for a major hurricane (probably Cat 4 then). Emcomm radio ready to go. Greatly appreciate ALL you do!! -73 KQ4KIO

Interesting... just yesterday I was looking at storm surge and thinking about MacDill and wondering what the base was doing. Good info.

Funny you should mention the 1987 Great storm in the UK. I watched a documentary about this at the weekend. It makes me realise how destructive hurricanes are!

Secondary comment to ask if you have ever noted any correlation between high barometric pressure (or steep gradients) and migraine in your years of analysis? As I get older and my brain becomes more fragile, I wonder about these things.
