I had a Ford 3.0 do the same. Junkyard engine and I didn't pull the pan. Sludged up oil pump from the teenager that owned the truck it came out of. Always pull the pan on a used engine..
Thanks for the video! Shocked to see you got it "running". My car is seized too, but in much less dramatic way. Just low coolant (radiator leaked) and I didn't notice it was low on coolant before I drove it four miles. Engine temerature gauge didn't show overheating. Back home, car was running smooth, and I filled the coolant up to top, shut engine off Couple fo days later starter seem to have died. Replace with new starter and it still can't turn over the engine. I guess I will try PB blaster down the spark hole and see if I can turn over the engine manually. Lesson here for me is if car is low on coolant, fill it up with something, even water and KEEP IT RUNNING for a while to cool down the engine BEFORE SHUTTING IT OFF! Otherwise super hot cylinder walls could melt with cylinder rings seizing the engine.
Doug, you appear to have the same problem as me. Not enough gravity. Someone who's 250 or so might have been able to break her loose but we could just bounce on the breaker bar. You should be able to pick up a motor in your favorite junkyard relatively cheap.
That is what we are there for. I'd like to tell you I didn't have my face 12 inches from that spinning time bomb...... but that would be a lie. Anything for some YT content!
Heck affording a lift is easier than finding one. They are rather difficult to find at this time. With regards to the Mazda, I’d pull a motor and toss it in, heck that one lasted 230k, might as well go a bit further. Looking forward to what comes next!
What else is wrong with it that makes it a candidate for the yard? Hard to tell the condition but I’d grab a used motor and send it down the road. We always talk about how cars don’t deserve to get sent to the pick and pulls
Well it has a lot of body damage, high miles, bad tires, broken mirrors, and other issues from neglect, but it turn out the owner wants me to give a junkyard motor a shot, so stay tuned for that!
@@DEInTheGarage I mean with the used car market the way it is right now, I’m sure they could get more than the scrap price for it. Unless it’s super rusty or had other high price items going bad I think a used motor is the right choice. Even if they don’t want it anymore, they’ll probably get their money back selling it running and driving (on all 4 cylinders this time)
Go out each day and try to turn over by the bottom crank pully back and forth if move fraction of inch then work on turning it a lot more pull out the plugs and leave out while trying to turn over

Aaaaaaaand we have a name for this project. And yes I said "project" because I have been given the green light to find a new motor and give this thing new life
Miles won’t mean much with a new(er) motor, throw a motor in her, couple mirrors, and a windshield and she should be good (she obviously doesn’t take good care of it. So why get a newer car to destroy in the same amount of time), long as the frame/underbody/unibody is good, send it
I would not be surprised if the oil pan bolt was broken when she took the car into have the new tire mounted. Why? I know of two cases that ended up in lawsuits being filed against #1: A certain mega box store and #2: a national chain that offers fast oil changes. In case #1 the mega store was found liable for almost $10,000.00 in damages that resulted from damage (actually destroyed) to the victims late model F-150 V-8 engine when the drain plug was cross treaded AND the wrong filter was installed. In case #2 the fast oil change company ended up buying a new engine for the victim's Toyota sedan when the oil pan parted company with the car five miles down the road following an "oil change". broken AND improperly tightened oil pan bolts were found to be the cause. That one caused the oil change company to fork out about $6,000.00 for a replacement four cylinder engine. Of course the lawyers made out like bandits in both cases.
i have a 98 camry and its been days of trying to unseize and i got slight movement on crank bolt but its not breaking free the oil is showing on oil stick around the low mark after a few days ... i dont see damage in the block from looking...
Hi my engine had oil and all its fluids! I was told it seize ? I think it was the fuel, the engine was really hot 🔥 but since I've had something from turning the key, any advice ?
Man I'll tell you what that monster is quite a piece of Machinery ain't she get that thing out of there and give that lady her 300 bucks from the scrapper... 😂
Oh, it is coming. I am slowly (very slowly) collecting the parts I will need. I have the engine and intake, still decided in what carb I want to use. Sooner or later there will be a series of videos on that thing getting back on the road.
Hey, turn that off. Greta's going to be p'd with you for that.
😂🤣
Oh that... that was all natural environmentally friendly sustainably sourced smoked. Nothing to worry about there ;-)

You need to mix the ATF with equal part Acetone. This makes for an extremely powerful penetrant. No kidding. Look it up.

man that explorer took me back, i watched it on a rainy day that was worse than the one you worked on it in
That was a fun DOA to work on. I wish I could get more like that, but it was a once in a lifetime deal. Never should have let it go
Should have checked the transmission fluid level, might have had as much in it as the engine LOL.
Cars like this, you give it your all, but sometimes you just need to play taps and ship it to the great salvage yard...
True same here with my 06 sonata
Love the video of the bottom end while it was running…awesome!!
Marvel mystery oil works real good
Just poor in the cylinders wait overnight and It will turn right over
the camera work around a grenade waiting to go off made me watch just a few seconds more :)

Yeah I a bit concerned about that lol
Just the right amount of constructive destruction 👌. Put a Hemi in it!

Will be looking forward to the full length music video cover of Adele
Please stay tuned for Uncle Jerry's Christmas Special
We may have to have an extra couple drinks to listen to that one.
Car smoking more than Cheech backstage at a Willie concert.
If this Mazda's a knocking... wait.....
@@DEInTheGarage lol not sure two grown adults would fit.
We watch for the big three + SUBARU + pull yards.

Boy,do these mazdas rust over the years.
Never seen a car brand that rusts so fast.Great video👍👍
yikes! She's a done deal. Enjoy the channel! Thanks for the content...

Well bud, you and the owner are of the same mind! She decided to get a motor for it which I will be putting in this weekend
Just a thought why not get in touch with wired beard he has a good lift rusting in his yard
I admit that I do not know who that is... I will have to look in to it. Thanks!

I would not be surprised. I have first hand experience of fluid exchange shops breaking stuff and sending it out the door without mentioning it.
@@DEInTheGarage Ah hell....
Great video I was wondering why you left the spark plug out while running 3 cylinders?
230k miles though, at least she lived a while
Have you done a Honda Civic CRX Si ( 1989 - 1991 ), mine is approaching 350,000 miles...
That was very entertaining, seeing the 3 cylinders to run was dope 👍🏼needless to say I subscribed.
I love all the DOA videos man.

Chances are it's a stuck main Bering or for bering
Rod
I love the Banter!
All I can jersey boy is SMOOTH!
That Mazda three is the same thing as a Ford forkus. I say it that way because you are definitely forked.
LOL.... Forked if ya do, Forked if ya don't, aye?

Would probably make a decent derby car once the ATF is burned off!
Take her to Carmax and see what they'll give ya for it!
She's a runner!
Deisel fuel in xilynders over bifht a couple days worked for me
I didn't know Mazda made mosquito foggers.
Oh yea bud.. limited edition this one. Super valuable
The predisesor to this motor loved to throw rods. This is actually a ford motor. If you buy a ford version versus Mazda version you pay half as much.
I have a seized engine but the oil is full what should we do its defintly seized
What you need to change oil, but it cost money to change oil. It’s bad enough that we have to pay for a vehicle yet alone gas. 🤦🏻♂️
What are you talking about she was running as fine as a cheap watch
Toast
That was fun to watch. 😊
I love the end 😂😂😂😂 good job ..
how long does it take to unsieze a engine that ran low on oil as far as be able to break it free via crank bolt
i used atf marvel mystery and oil mixture
I can see it now, nice little Mazda for sale, just needs a tune up.😂😂😂
Well this is the "High Efficiency" model.... it only runs on 2 1/2 cylinders which saves a TON of gas
No Earl!
Nice job 👍
This was fun.
Agreed :-) Just wait for the motor swap vid (The owner changed her mind and wants a new motor in it now)

Reminds me of the Eve6 lyric "my voice is sweet as salt"
Love it!
12:56 😂
Hahahahaha KL swap, turbo, and take it to the track.
Can the engine be rebuilt
I would say "probably" if not for the holes in the block. I found another motor for $500, so that is the route we are going to take
