      Dizziemiss Lizzie it’s not cute if it costs to much and it does. They call it what the do to disguise that it’s really a single wide which it is. And a single wide doesn’t cost what this does. A sucker is born every minute.

    • @earlinejackson8151
      @earlinejackson8151 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Dizziemiss Lizzie, anyone that cares whether or not their home is stable for 5 years or for 100 years. Without major precautions (like putting a complete raised roof over the mobile home when brand new, and making sure it has deep overhanging eaves) a mobile home will start leaking in places you don’t see, like the tops of walls and windows, leaking down inside the wall to rot the studs, destroy the insulation, etc. only way to really stop it is to do a roofover, with overhang, deep overhang.

      Tiny houses are nothing but glorified travel trailers/RVs that people live in full time.

      I think it’s just about durability and the holding of value with large purchases. It’s not just to complain. My Mom was shocked that her “modular home” is worth nothing. also I used to live by an elderly woman who was also damaged in this way. After her husband died, she couldn’t afford to live in her “fancy” senior’s community of modular homes. Her “home” was only two years old and not only did she not break even in the sale but also came out $75k in the negative! She couldn’t even gift it to her kids b/c it was senior’s only living.

    Well, I don't care what you call this : tiny house or mini mansion... it's adorable! My husband and I would love this to put on our retirement property while our "small home" is being built. Then we could turn this into an airbnb rental. A real plus for seniors is that there's no loft (really tricky for the elderly, folks)... love that it's all on one level. Very nice, Mr. Bill. Come to TN soon!

That means you can make changes that are to your liking within the parameters of what the builder can supply. As a senior, this would be a great alternative to an apartment or assisted living dwelling. I already joke with my kids I will be living in their back yard someday! And they actually love the idea. I am thankful for what I have. I have a 3100 sqft real home and would never, ever live in a tiny home unless my entire family died, including my pets. Having said that, I have every right to express my opinion on a very public video of a home being labeled as a tiny home. It's not a tiny home. But obviously there's someone out there who'd want this. Doesn't mean I can't express my thoughts. I haven't seen hateful comments, just people expressing their opinions. But then, I haven't read all the comments yet.

      @Jennifer WarHawk 😂 *What on earth is a "real home?" A home is what you make it. Modular homes are not built that different from homes built on-site. They are held to the same standards and follow the same city codes. Only difference is the home is built in a large manufacturing environment. Some of us don't need a 3000 sqft home. I would prefer being debt free with NO MORTGAGE payments and able to save 5 to 6 figures a year. If you have a mortgage, you don't own the house YET anyway-the BANK DOES, lol.*

      @user name *Blah, Blah, Blah...😂 Look at Einstein "trying" to educate me when I actually live in one that we custom designed. Lol, You mentioned like one thing that's different. 😂 Woohoo give him a cookie! My point was that modular homes ARE built to the same local, county, and state building codes as site-built HOMES. But I think that went over your head. 😂 These homes are quality built and we actually OWN them, NOT the bank. I know of lots of people who live in them and they have weathered BOTH tornados AND hurricanes. It's usually their neighbors who live in ON-SITE stick built homes that are blown apart. My home is placed on a FULL FOUNDATION that is CONCRETE, which means we have a FULL custom basement. A home is what YOU make it. Period. Most importantly, we are **#MortgageFreeAndLoveIt* 😉

I've seen them a mere half inch over and always wondered how on earth you work on a toilet with that thing over it. It makes sense in a small house to add that for extra counter space, but it'll still cause problems if the toilet needs to be serviced. They should be made removable.

      Trailers, and mobile homes are tiny houses. Tiny houses are simply the next generation of that. But unlike the original trailers/mobiles, the tiny house isn't forced to be only one style or size. As long as it's smaller than the average house. Tiny houses are open to the owner's needs, wants, imagination, and how much they want to spend.

These tiny home dreamers have a surprising hostility toward park model or manufactured home owners, or just people looking/shopping because it doesn't fit into their hipster/millennial fantasies. It is a strange phenomenon that I have a theory about, but I'll save that for another day. (Mobile and manufactured are usually used interchangeably, but manufactured is the more accurate term)

    For a small house this isn't bad, especially for one person, has the space prewired for a stacked washer/dryer with a down draft vent, better for not trapping lint. It appears to have a vent for the stove/oven going through the roof, I would change it to go through the wall so the roof has maybe two plumbing vents going through it. I would also put the power roll down shutters on the doors and windows for the security, weather protection and ultra violet light/heat protection. There is one door immediately behind the refrigerator he didn't open, I assume the furnace and A/C unit are in that closet. Yes I would double rod the bedroom closet. I draw so my drawing table would sit in front of the triple window set on the door side. I like the sideways placed receptacle under those windows. I also like that some of the receptacles are also equipped with USB ports. Over all a grade of A for the house as it also comes ready for a porch swing and ceiling fan on the porch. I would have a pit dug and lined with concrete bottom and sides with proper ventilation in order to access utilities under the home, and strap it down above the state requirements. On the side of the triple windows is a rear door, the carport would be built on that side, and if possible would be the west orientation of the home to protect the windows from the sun. That would place the back of the home to the north orientation, the bedroom wall there has zero windows. I live in Arizona so placement has much to do to save on utilities.

    • @lizsteeds6697
      @lizsteeds6697 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gregor Miller OMG ... you have fantasized about this house much. Why would you put your carport near the triple fronted windows which would have a view no doubt. The car and carport would cut all the light. Or is your vision living in a trailer/ mobile home park stacked in like sardines where your lovely big windows just overlook your neighbours crappy mobile homes.

    Hello I looked over your entire TH-cam account and I noticed a trend with your account. The videos that get the most views has the picture of outside of the house for the thumbnails, so my best suggestion for you to get your most exposure is to continue taking pictures for your thumbnails that are outside of the houses instead of inside the house.
    If you want your most exposure for your business. Another key word of advice is to start all your videos outside of the house then going inside the house to do the house tour like you did in this video.

    In a mobile/modular home, a porch is wasted space. (Is that a Southern thing? I don't see it much up north unless there's a screened-in porch to keep insects away, and in winter the porches become a place of storage.) There was no room for a dining area, I noticed. It would have been better to use the wasted porch space for a living room so the living room space could be used as a dining area. Some of us old farts can't climb on bar stools, and there is no way to do formal dining with table and chairs in that small space - or even use a table & chairs to play cards or board games. Washer and dryer should be pre-installed, there was a distinct lack of closet space. Large shower stall in the bathroom was very nice since some older people have to use shower chairs when they are no longer able to get out of bathtubs because of knee or hip replacements. That inner venetian blinds are a nice touch; anything to eliminate having to fussy-clean them.
    What's with gray/black being the predominant decorating theme for the last couple of years? It's on baby clothing, adult clothing, furniture, interior/exterior decorations (floors, walls, appliances), etc. Looking at those colors day in and day out could make one ask their doctor for anti-depressants. The place needs some cheerful warm colors, like honey-colored oak woodwork, super pastel pink or peach or seafoam green/aqua colors on the walls (light enough it's almost white, but not quite white, altho I'd take white over any other color choice in a generic home since it can be the background for any wall hangings or paintings) - dark colors are too gloomy.
