I love that she measured the snake tanks to accommodate the full-sized growth of the snakes, but the kids sleep in spaces barely appropriate for toddlers.
Not sure what everyone’s so concerned about regarding the kids when they’re bigger....clearly they’ll just climb out of the skylight & run away...simple as that! 🤣
RockaParty I'll lay money on it. They already have it planned. It seems they spend their time hiding from her to avoid being her "tiny house" housekeeper's.
You are so funny! My daughter used to climb out her window onto covered deck and look at the stars. With that special roof you can walk on, sounds like a real possibility. 😉
All the areas that the parents use are quite spacious and yet the children are packed into these tight, low ceiling spaces that was claustrophobic AF. There isn’t even standing space. They can only crawl around on the floors.sounds like a great childhood. “If they’re in our way we tell them to go upstairs and play” yes, retreat to your jail cells while we enjoy the rest of our spacious tiny home
On the bright side it may encourage more outdoor activities instead of the children being lazy, obese video game/computer/television junkies like the majority of children in this country today.
@@kimberlyshaw7469 If video games are lazy, something that requires your brain. Then reading books must be lazy too right. I mean you’re not moving, only lazy people use their brain. 🥴
This is the most insane tiny home I think I’ve seen. Of course the kids spend more time outside. They wanna be somewhere they can stand comfortably. 🤦🏻♀️
As a single or couple this might work, but people who think this is suitable to house FIVE kids are actually insane. Especially when the kids have to go through their parents room, to crawl through a literal crawlspace with no privacy to get to their bedrooms. As a single/couple, you're already sacrificing and cutting major corners on clothing and storage, given tiny house bedrooms don't usually offer any. I imagine this family will inevitably, sell, rent or make this an airbnb - even renters probably wouldn't know what to do with all of that poorly designed crawl space.
@@aayobruv yeah. I mean. This would be ok, imo, if it’s just for trips. But, it’s unfair on the kids to not give them a home where they have some privacy!

I couldn't even watch after seeing kids sleeping coffins. These parents make me sick. Please report this abuse to Dr. Phil. He's a mandated reporter. He'll help those kids.
Not gonna lie, the layout of this video bothered me very much. I expected so much more when clicking on this video. The house doesn’t seem that great or comfortable but, as long as that family enjoys it and feels safe/comfortable , it’s whatever.
it is obvious you know nothing about this. i grew up with my sister in one tiny room with almost no space between beds, and no place to play outside. (budget apartment in city) it felt only cozy. it all depends on what you are custom to. in my opinion, you will have real claustrophobia only if you grew up in big spaces. and it is good to play outside.
Damn y’all selfish the kids rooms be so small and tight this ain’t gonna work out for y’all when they grow up they finna move out soon and live with their grandparents house instead tbh😕
So the parents have a full size bedroom and the kids sleep in cubby holes with their closet space in the same room as the compost toilet. Every1 commenting that its "just for now"...the point is - everything about this build reflects that the kids were merely an afterthought to all the things THEY wanted for their OWN comfort FIRST in the house.
@@beethaven That wasn’t the point. What’s the difference in have bath towels, etc that you use to wipe off with, wash your face as it is to have clothes in the same space as a compost toilet and that most people state they do not give off an odor. Most people in these comments just seem to have it in for these parents. All the tiny houses I’ve viewed and have viewed a lot, the loft area that even some adults sleep in you cannot stand up. Some do make them high enough so they can sit up in bed and read.
You know the other thing that always strikes me when I watch these things. I've seen a lot of them lately and I don't think I've seen one where they said "we've been living here for (>6 months,) and we love it." Where are all the people who have been living in a tiny home for 2+years? I mean I know they are out there, but from where I'm standing and watching these videos, it doesn't seem like anybody stays in these things for very long. Which isn't surprising, just interesting. I think the tiny home thing is cute and I like it to a point. Living in a small space like that is kinda like being wrapped up tightly in a comfy blanket, I find it pleasant for a while. But I have a sneaking suspicion that this shit gets pretty old pretty quick.
I came here straight from a video about a lovely couple coping with winter van living in Canada. They were so endearing and you know when you feel an instant warmth from people and think they come across as such nice guys? Yeah, so I had the exact opposite feeling a few seconds into this video.
That’s a hell of a trip if the kid on the top bed in the far loft has to take a wizz in the middle of the night. They have to climb over their sibling, climb across the catwalk, through their other siblings room, through their parents room and down the stairs. That would suck so much if you have to go really bad. Also, the parents bedroom opens to the kids room? What if you’re... you know... having some quality time together and a kid walks in?
Why? Do your kids sleep standing up? Do they play board games, video games, or read standing up? I doubt it. They have a nice livingroom where they can jump and stand they have the whole yard to run around. Bedrooms are used for sleeping and you don't need anymore room than that to sleep.
Most kids of all ages love a cozy space. Our friend's teenage daughter gave up a full sized bedroom to make a kind of cave in a little part of a very short attic, and we know lots of kids who have done something similar. Our youngest son as a pre-teen made a little bedroom in a walk in closet for a while. These bedrooms are actually larger than some in "regular" houses; just a bit short but that's perfect for the reading, thinking, games, crafts & quiet play (and of course sleeping!) that bedrooms are used for. They have the rest of the house, & all outdoors for large muscle playing which can't be done in bedrooms anyway.
If some people had to live with less, and or travelled the world learning anout what other cultures and people in this world have to live with, and they thaught a LITTLE BIT ABOUT IT, THEN JUST MAYBE THEY WOULD BE MUCH MORE APPRECIATIVE AND OPEN MINDED that others got something that they as human beings will NEVER EVER in this world get. Being short minded. Thank You Jesus I could live under any circumstance.
11:40 "The ceiling's a little short in ceiling height, but uhm, that doesn't really matter because we aren't in here much-" Did this dude just state the fact that the bedroom two of their kids sleep in, has too low of a roof to be comfortable to even stand in, and then brush it off because HIM AND HIS WIFE don't go there much? Dude! That is where more than half of your current children sleep EVERY NIGHT, and your keeping them from getting the proper space they need because it isn't a problem for YOU? This is straight up bad parenting, and I assure you this will definitely become a problem in the future. Why do they keep having children if they can't even give a proper bedroom for their current kids?! There is literally a fan in that room between the beds that the kids could touch of bump when crawling past that could get them hurt! And to make it worse, you live yourselves a high ceiling room with proper room to move! To pile on to that, they have to go through a tight door to get in, through your room! Not only bad design, but bad design that was made by the parents. It honestly looks like the kid's rooms were thrown in last minute. Where do yo even plan to keep your upcoming child?! These are just examples of bad parents, through-and-through.
Most tiny houses with an adult or two or one child max and I always said: looks great, maybe I'll have that for myself. But these families with a gaggle of kids (I think more than 2 is a gaggle. Lol), andI start feeling so sorry for the kids. And each time, I got the feeling that the children's spaces are afterthoughts.
I think he might have meant that they don’t spend that much time up here as I the whole family... I think he meant that there Children don’t spend that much time in there rooms...
When he says it doesnt matter that he literally cant stand up in his kids space is ridiculous. They seem to forget that they made these kids sacrifice privacy and other things that help make people comfortable. You couldn't raise the ceiling for them?? Or put their closet somewhere besides the toilet??
@@amandagustavsson6886 that's the beauty of tiny living, you adjust and do changes as time goes by. Why does everybody thinks they'll be like that forever and ever and ever...? You save sooo much, you'll have a better chance of doing something better in the future.
What always pisses me off about these parents with tiny homes is that they give themselves big and great bedrooms, but cramp their kids into "rooms" with absolutely no privacy, or make them sleep with them. Your kid is gonna be a teenager pretty fast, they're gonna need privacy, I don't understand how in their tiny brains they see this as okay
Wow!! We have 4 kids and live in a school bus. The first thing we did was create a place for our children. They actually have a room with seating area and a play area where my husband and i have a box🤣🤣 i feel sad for the kids 😢
You see how you included your entire family in that. The way she speaks is like her husband is a sperm donor and she doesn’t really care what he thinks or wants the only consideration she took was that the kids wanted a bigger dishwasher lmfao so not her and her husband decided to get a bigger one SHE decided to go out and purchase one. Thats a red flag lol!
Oh please stop trying to justify your way of living tiny versus someone else’s way. Four kids and two adults in a bus is at best tight! Feel sad for your children as well then.
It is a little confusing. I think they meant they owned a house, sold it, rented a place, and wanted to own a home. When you buy a house you usually pay mortgage. With a tiny house and if they had profits they may have been able to outright pay off their tiny house, and some student loans. 🤷♀️
I think it would've been way smarter for the parents to sleep in the living room on the sofa and for the kids to have the space they got in the bedroom
b a m b u s I understand what you are saying but, if you were spending this much money building a house would you just want to give everything up, like the room to sleep on the couch? Again, I understand what you are trying to say but still?
Yeah no. You can’t be intimate without doors. What they should’ve done was rethink their design space and add more ceiling height for the kid’s rooms but I’m definitely not sleeping in the living room with my husband.
🗣️📢 *I would NEVER design a tiny home this way for my boys. Tiny home living does NOT mean living UNCOMFORTABLY in your own home. Having to CRAWL into bed and unable to STAND up in your own room is a no-no. And where is the DOOR to the bathroom? 🤔 Will the children be watched as they take showers?* 🧐
Please look in to ball python care more. Those enclosures are not ideal. Ball pythons need lots of places to hide with plenty of cover. Also, the lights will only serve to stress them. They spend their time hiding in holes and are nocturnal, so the bright lights make them feel exposed and stressed. Ceramic heat emitters work so much better. Add a bunch of fake plants and places to hide and they'll be much more comfortable!
Or just get a cheap plastic bin, put holes in it, and put a heating mat under. That's how I do it and how breeders do it. They don't need a lot of space, they prefer a smaller enclosure, but yeah they do need a place to hide if you don't have a rack setup. I have 4 ball pythons. Edit: to those that still don't know, those tanks that they have for their ball pythons are actually too big! Too big because there aren't any hiding spots, if you are gonna have a huge ass tank for a ball python then it needs to have hiding spots. If you don't want to get hiding spots then get a small tank or plastic bin that's taped all over but with holes! Ball pythons feel more safe in a small space. Do damn research!
Are those tanks really big enough for the snakes to live out their lives happily? I’ve seen fully grown ball pythons. These tanks look depressingly small and, as you mentioned, bare.
@@piccuh they are big enough, believe it or not. Ball pythons like small spaces to hide as they are pretty shy. They don't move around a lot and prefer to remain under cover. It's the glaring light and lack of places to hide that are concerning.
Yeah, I cringed when she started talking about the snakes. They may be "easier than a dog", but that doesn't mean you should give the poor snakes the absolute bare minimum in space and general comforts. Kinda feels selfish IMO.
Mother with anxiety and control issues, probably BPD. I have a mother like this. Makes it sound like kids are a hassle but keeps having them. They're objects to these types of people and the only time they experience something close to happiness is leading up to and right after a kid is born. That's why you'll see women with these types of traits having abnormal amounts of children. Paranoia and distrust of others would lead to the homeschooling three kids with a newborn. They're really messed up people.

I disagree, mostly in principle. In practice I think you're right. But back in the day a family of 12 would live in a 1 room cabin. They survived. I don't think it's fair to say that these kids hate it when we don't know. BUT, back in the day, when people lived in a 1 room cabin spent a lot of time outside, they could get away, go into the woods and play etc. Where they were parked looked industrial and not a place you'd let your kids run so they are forced together without privacy. But, what people are forgetting is that things can be done like curtains, storage, etc to make it work. They could even take down the ceiling to the living room and lower it. If it doesn't work they'll sell it, there is a reason a lot of people sell their tiny homes, because they live there a few years and want more space. It's not a lifestyle that makes most people happy.
@@kathycrc or they could stop having babies. I feel terrible for them. “When they need alone time even though they have lots of space to do that upstairs” she seems annoyed that they have that space upstairs is not enough or fun for any child, even a baby. They have a big house while their kids have that little behind attic/closet space
I’m 13 and I know that you’re kids will not appreciate that house when they’re older. They need more privacy and room, and also think about storage for more clothing and space to grow
When she said even though they have enough space to do so upstairs I was shook they got luxury and left their kids with barely any room and also she said when they come home from school I thought you said they were homeschooled

Nice design, but, what happens when the children are too tall to crawl around to go to bed? That is claustrophobic. Good luck and congratulations on baby #4.
For adults I can see that being an issue but not really an issue for kids, as the kids would have to get much bigger than the parents before they couldn't crawl up there... Mind, small spaces are much easier to deal with when you're young. So any space the parents can still get into is a space the kids will be able to with much more ease... Would be more of a issue of keeping it clean up there as they get into their teens and having enough room for their beds but the oldest could always transition to the Ikea sofa bed... While they can always add a second tiny bunk house just for the kids to sleep in and tow that behind the main home like some would a secondary vehicle... Assuming they still want to travel years from now... Or they can treat this just as a starter home and trade it in later for a different one... Or they can simply remodel this one at a later date, as there are ways to modify the design that would make it easier to access the lofts...

first of all, what part of that house is tiny? this is just a regular house on wheels with everything ordinary. There's no element to it. Secondly, of course the kids are gonna stay out of that congested space when they were used to living in a 4000sqft house. Kids need more space to grow and play, and tiny houses(small house in this case) are nothing good for children that age!
Yeah, and kids play, they hide inside and outside, that is called playing. I used to love staying out, but also loved having my room, with my own toys and I could shut the door and be completely alone with my thoughts.
I LOVE the tiny house movement but the thing of it is... I personally would have to either live alone or have ONE rm. I am very big on personal space and privicy. 5 people in that close context would drive me absolutley insane. 😂😂

On another note, those kids will need to be in a room with taller ceilings to make room for their growth.
Not sure what everyone’s so concerned about regarding the kids when they’re bigger....clearly they’ll just climb out of the skylight & run away...simple as that! 🤣

On the bright side it may encourage more outdoor activities instead of the children being lazy, obese video game/computer/television junkies like the majority of children in this country today.

right, when he said he tells the kids to go upstairs and play i yelled "how!?" that seems like more of a punishment if anything 😂
IN CO summers are short so seems they would be spending most of the yr inside. I think this tiny is just not a good fit with children.

Not gonna lie, the layout of this video bothered me very much. I expected so much more when clicking on this video. The house doesn’t seem that great or comfortable but, as long as that family enjoys it and feels safe/comfortable , it’s whatever.

(budget apartment in city) it felt only cozy. it all depends on what you are custom to. in my opinion, you will have real claustrophobia only if you grew up in big spaces.

Idk everyone seems to be in firm agreement about the kid’s bedroom
There's another way to save money.. by having less kids!! . It ll help the world population too.
What’s the problem with there clothes in the bathroom. In some tiny houses they store there towels in the bathroom.
@@genielaury do you wear towels as clothes? no? i thought so
@@beethaven That wasn’t the point.

I agree. I immediately disliked mom a lot. She seems incomvienced by the kids like she doesn't even like her own kids.
cute but the bedrooms heights are super short. I would get anxiety
Yeah, and what about when the baby comes?
I think the bed mattress is very thick, so that too kinda took a lot of space. A different mattress choice and it won’t look nearly as bad.
ACADIA sameeee
And insufficient fire egress for the far back loft area. Not safe nor workable for life.
What if you’re... you know... having some quality time together and a kid walks in?
nah. they will just climb out the skylight and pee off the roof. lol.

I really think that once your kids are bigger that house is NOT gonna work for you. Those kid room are not adequate for kids more than 7-8 years old.
Why? Do your kids sleep standing up? Do they play board games, video games, or read standing up? I doubt it. They have a nice livingroom where they can jump and stand they have the whole yard to run around. Bedrooms are used for sleeping and you don't need anymore room than that to sleep.
I felt the same way. Especially boys who grow like a weed. It'll be difficult moving around up there.
I don’t know why you guys can’t think out of the box...you know they can always add on more room in the future 🤦♀️
11:40 "The ceiling's a little short in ceiling height, but uhm, that doesn't really matter because we aren't in here much-"
Did this dude just state the fact that the bedroom two of their kids sleep in, has too low of a roof to be comfortable to even stand in, and then brush it off because HIM AND HIS WIFE don't go there much?

Those bedrooms are illegal. Social Services would take those kids!
3-4 kids, home schooled and firmly under the control of this woman in this small space, sounds like a real nightmare when the kids outgrow those jail cells they sleep in.
They will grow up weird
@@Cmez872 the 4th kid is on his way. Or 5th. Whichever it was.
first of all, what part of that house is tiny? this is just a regular house on wheels with everything ordinary.
Only the kids space is tiny, no ceiling height, no wardrobe space
This couple look like brother & sister
I’ve noticed that with a lot of TH videos.
I LOVE the tiny house movement but the thing of it is... I personally would have to either live alone or have ONE rm. I am very big on personal space and privicy. 5 people in that close context would drive me absolutley insane. 😂😂
Just aweful !!!! You are not being good parents toward your kids . To put them in that crazy low celing dump room. How they suppose to get to to the bathroom at night. You and your husband just aweful. Those poor kids😢😥😰😭
They can just wet the bed at nights that's all.
Says the kids are homeschooled yet states that they drop their things when they come home from school.....????
I Caught that too.
Some cities will have like home schooling public groups if that makes sense? One of my home school friends had a group she went to for English, but her other classes were at home.
🤣
Also I know people who homeschool and go to public spaces like the library or a nice park- if its good weather, so that would be an option too
@@MrCottonball99 But you never call it school.
So the closets are in the bathroom? The kids have that one tiny section shared with the toilet?
Whew my back hurts just thinking about those kids rooms.
WAIT when the kids want alone time they sit in a hole in the wall!???
This would drive me crazy.
Wow! I have been watching video after video of tiny houses with kids and yours is the best so far. There is a few small changes I would make. Wow! We have two kids and maybe more down the road. We also play on homeschooling as well.
This house looks amazing... just amazing for a single person, Or a couple with no kids. Everything was beautiful and well put together. Wow
Three kids and one on the way. Seems practical!!! lol
7 kids
The snakes are probably more comfortable than the children 😂
As they should
And they will outgrow that space like the children will.... 😣
Lmfaooo roof too short
It's a beautiful tiny home and it's hard to imagine so many people living in a small space. I know a couple who lived in a 5th wheel RV with their 5 children! They moved around a great deal so they decided it was a better option than paying rent. The children spent most of their time outdoors.
How can u bathe your child in the sink?
Your kitchen is stunning. I absolutely adore it. Your whole home is cozy and actually stunning for the amount of people and the size. Great style and how you incorporated all your needs is just super. I bet your lives are a lot less stress now to. Awesome home. Good luck enjoy.
So...the kids closet is in the same space as the toilet. WOW....these parents are just....WOW
The mom gives off really weird vibes. The way she stares into the camera while she’s talking about hearing her kids and how they can’t run away 🤯. Yikes!
🤯
What did it for me was she kept saying “i did this for the kids” “we decided to do that” when you can easily tell it was HER decision and she really didn’t consider her husband at all just the kids a little when they said to get a bigger dishwasher so “she went and bought a bigger one” what happened to we lol.
Yeah, when she said the kids like the tiny home more than her and her husband do, but then followed it up with, "They used to hide on me in a bigger house and now there's no space to hide"... that sounds like something you appreciate more than the kids
She definitely gave of something seriously weird vibes!!!
Exactly she's something off about her whole vibe.
