Thank you for your comment,if you watch til the end I left a picture of how I laid the strip lights. All I did was stick them down to a bit of metal which was right behind the back of the aquarium. I ran the rgb at the front with the white led strip behind . I didn't video me setting it up as it was at an awkward height to film.Any questions or if anything still unclear message me back and I will try to help

could you share a tutorial? or is it the same as the rest of the tutorials on here (one plexi glass, frost both sides, led strip on the bottom, etc.) also, why don't people enclose the led strip with two plexi glass plates? wouldn't that disperse the light better?
I didnt really watch any videos or tutorials, I saw the price of those aquarium backlights and thought I could make them real cheap with a few rows of leds. Making a tutorial was a bit of an afterthought after I saw it came out so well . As for the 2 sheetss of plexiglass, boxing the lights in. I found that just tilting the board at an angle so the lip was touching the top of the tank gave good coverage and didn't give any darkpatches. As for adding 2 sheets of plexi glass it seems like an extra step that's not really needed the frosting on the back of the tank and the board work the same way you could always box in the side of you didn't want the extra light spread but I don't really find it noticeable.
I have another question, how important is the color temperature changing feature for the white strips? I can see that the price on the fixed color temperature white strip lights is considerably cheaper, so that's why I am wondering if it's really needed.
I think it would look good with just the white 6500k as it gives the sky look.I just went for the 1 I did to give me some extra options colour wise but I think my favourite is the cool white and the blue colour rgbs.
The plants at the back seem to have grown a little bit quicker, but not really sure if it's the light or just they they have rooted properly, as they were all in vitro pots grown emmersed. I certainly don't think it's done them any harm having that bit of extra light. I've had no algae problems but I am dosing liquid carbon

@@boba853 I'm not sure about the us , the 1 I used was just a generic frosted privacy film.It had a bit of texture but that is on the side that you won't really notice too much. With the backlight on you won't notice it imo.
Wow that looks really stunning! Thanks for sharing
Nice job! Love the sound track as well. Who composed it? Where is this music from? Very chill!
Think I just picked it out in the royalty free songs on the TH-cam music app. Not sure of the composer, sorry
Wow amazing your the 1st one to make video on this topic can you please make a video how you fixed the light on from starting to end

Do white frosted film work?
I'm not sure tbh,
I think it should work fine but the light might be a bit less bright.
Is the polycarbonate sheet clear or white?
It's a clear sheet with a frosted covering, that you can peel off.
So how are your plants responding to this light?
The plants at the back seem to have grown a little bit quicker,
but not really sure if it's the light or just they they have rooted properly,
as they were all in vitro pots grown emmersed.

Are the lights flickering?
The backlights don't flicker for me . If you have a lot of water agitation you might get a bit of shimmer
where to get lights
