    My husband was arrested once and all the other inmates were afraid to talk to him because apparently he looks scary. He's only 5'10 and 160lbs, so not big. Just apparently his face makes people think he did something really messed up.
    His crime? He used white out on his vehicle registration and used sharpie to change the date so that our apartment complex would stop bothering him... He got pulled over by highway patrol and told them flat out and said "it's not to trick you guys, just my apartment complex. 😅" Cop went to his car, looked it up, and apparently it's a Class C misdemeanor so he got arrested and he sat in jail for a night. Absolutely ridiculous...

    I’m a federal co and have never looked up an inmate’s charges (besides posted pics). What they did is mainly irrelevant and would just cause bias.

    This is just reminding me of when I worked at a library, and we got tons of Interlibrary Loan requests for manga from the state pen, all for one dude. Maybe about 3 per month, iirc.

      I mean, it sounds like this inmate was just a weeb who did something very stupid.

      In the united states, it is possible he was framed. Something like 80% of all arrests made are of innocent people. The ones that go to prison, at least 20% are innocent, and at least half of those remaining are not guilty of the severity of crimes they were put in prison of.@ShadowReignhart

    Retired from a NYS dept of corrections as a CO. Read a book called Games Inmates Play. It's pretty fascinating. You get more with sugar than Vinegar. If you are Evil you are fully aware of this.

    I worked at a prison with the Eyeball Killer. Guy was polite generally, but was really twisted. He also had bothing behind his eyes. He still always said yes sir, no sir, and was generally well liked.
    Guy killed a few of intimate workers, and stole their eyes, hence the name.

    Had a really quiet and polite client years ago that i later gound out was a serial rapist. He had several counts of assaulting underage girls and was on charge for beat a girl close to death and dumping her body in a ditch to die.

    Not jail, but psych hospital. He threw a knife into a guys back and smashed his head with a brick. Took off running, cops searched for him all night. When the found him he pulled a machete on them. Lucky they drew tazers and not pistols.
    He was my bunkmate. Cool guy actually, very respectful, friendly. We even stayed in touch and go out for beers sometimes.

    TW: ABUSE
    I'm not a corrections officer, but I had a friend who got sentenced to life without parole for doing some really heinous stuff to his abusive parents and siblings. I won't go into details, as it was pretty messed up. He confessed to me and some other friends about what he did.
    The only one he spared was the family dog, who he surrendered to a local no-kill shelter after a few days of living in his car with her. My friends and I managed to convince him to turn himself in and get help.
    Aside from this, he was always such a kind and gentle person, just really, REALLY badly mistreated by the people who were supposed to love and protect him the most. No one knew the real extent of his family's abuse, and if it weren't for evidence provided by his attorney, he'd probably have gotten the death sentence for what he did.
    It's kind of heartbreaking that his own family drove him to such extremes, and now he'll never see the outside world again because of how badly they messed him up.

    Some of these are just heartbreaking. Some of these people seem like they're capable of doing good things, but they fucked up and ended up in prison.

    His name was Daniel Larson from Colorado he was in for a few minor incidents. He was a homeless guy with a few mental defects. He was big on dining and dashing and pulling fire alarms at restaurants. Last i heard he got arrested again a few weeks back after getting released just 2 months back

    For the CO sleeping with an inmate and saying it was consensual, this is completely false. Inmates are regarded as dependents and therefore can not consent. Which means the co committed the R word

    • @goodgenes0
      @goodgenes0 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      i know it's that way according to the law and probably should be, (i haven't watched the video yet, bear with me) but she did say yes, and the CO didn't try to like, blackmail or threaten her in any way i think, so it seems OK?

    • @d.i.m.eproductions6925
      @d.i.m.eproductions6925 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@goodgenes0 no it doesn’t matter if she said yes, the inmates can’t consent at all, because they are in the care of a C.O. I don’t think it’s ok or appropriate at all, definitely should still be charged with S.A. Of a dependent. If we were to remove the fact that they have a gun and a badge, so now it’s just a woman who has a man locked inside her home for years to the point he develops Stockholm syndrome, and they “consent to s**” would it be the R word? I say yes. We should not be making exceptions for anyone, even if they have a badge.

      @@Keira-oj1id you obviously have no idea how the prison system works and you’re completely wrong on this subject. Under the law, a prisoner does NOT have the ability to consent, even if they are an adult. I suggest you study the laws more before making yourself look uneducated on the topic at hand.

    From my experience, the nicest People in prison tend to be the crimes against children people.
    They know they're at the bottom and their only saving grace is the corrections officers.
