Omg I found it... This album has haunted me for a decade. I awoke in the middle of the night with the name suddenly having returned to my consciousness
Life is weird. Over ten years I've been listening to music like this yet never heard of this band and then some random video essayist talks about drone music, a comment mentions these guys and here I am. Très étrange, la vie.
There is an entire experimental community that I feel is separate from what most people are referring to when they talk about modern drone. It’s much smaller knit, intimate, and more psych focused. It really blossomed in the mid to late-00’s on short run tape and LP labels. If you just browse through the Blackest Rainbow, Time Lag, Sloow Tapes, Stunned Records, or Housecraft catalogs on Discogs and start clicking through each artist, you’ll start connecting a lot of dots. It is like a snapshot in time. Everything is much more dissipated and spread out these days, harder to keep up with.
Over four years ago (holy shit I can't believe it's been that long) I was taking a World History class as a freshman in highschool. The exams the teacher would hand out were famous and had earned the endearing name, "The Beast" because the teacher would put like 300 fucking questions on them. And this occurred on both the midterm and the final. I got A-'s on both. Despite the sheer size of the exams, they were still easy peasy for me. Similarly, despite the absolute gargantuan size of this album, I sat through it and not once did I get bored. It was super easy for me to make my way through it, and to say I enjoyed the ride is a vast understatement. The constant ambient droning takes me to another universe. The sweet and soft guitar melodies are super pretty and fit the mood super well. Honestly there's just so much to unpack here I'm gonna keep this concise. This album is super captivating from the start and will make you feel ways you've never felt before listening to music. It's a journey, for sure. Absolutely amazing.
The ring carved on your finger You can't throw it away Nor can you give it back Until your heart decays The face soon forgets You can't run far away Forever rise from the grave Escorting you back always
Don't quite remember the first time I listened to this. I'm reminded of the smell of wood and metal, and of those long-gone days sat on the living room's carpet. Endless fields of snow comprising the entire outside world; the only thing that mattered was the life I had there with my parents and toys. Then. Now..
I love the samples weaved into Eu Un Mirior, Obscurement / Tunnelling into the structure until it falls. Even if they're not very coherent or understandable they manage to evoke a really tangible sense of emotion within me. I can't really describe the feeling - almost nostalgic? Seconds of conversation in stranger's lives.

@Sonny the Duck a specific kind of atmosphere and melancholy that resonates with me and I find comforting that I have yet to hear another artist do as well as NSB, this album can go from the mood and feeling of a cozy campfire to opening the window of a moving car in the middle of the night when it's -2 degrees out. The long droney moments manage to have so much emotion and engagement throughout their entire runtime it, makes this album feel so much shorter than it is. This band also shows diversity with more I guess "traditionally" structured songs like interstate roads and the cover up, imo they're the highlights of the comforting moments and are so well written and even manage to be catchy and get stuck in my head, also they're placed at the perfect times on the album. There's objective things I could say about this album, but objectively saying why it's important to me is hard to do and doesn't do justice to the strong feelings towards it, doesn't do justice to how this album helped me deal with a lot of personal issues and dark moments in my life, so I'll just end it there
Suffers from a small dip in quality in the middle, but quickly recovers with the cursed bell. All around a fantastic album, definitely a 10/10, and one of my favourites from nsb. I wanna get this on CD so bad! The original red edition looks so tempting, but who knows when ones gonna be sold on discogs 😅

Tunneling Into the Structure until it Falls has haunted me for over a decade now.
Wow, this is the first album in over a year to have really surprised me with its quality.
The song Wisconsin, in particular, is hauntingly pretty.
