The abuse of the responsible child (scapegoat child) is and was overt while the abuse of the golden child was and is hidden not easily discernable. Unlike the hidden abusive behavior the results of the abuse is out and in your face. The golden child ability to be a active participant in her life is damaged and required her parents to survive in all aspects of her life.
