for me, the stargazer is best 7 seater right now in its segment. if only Pinoys can look past the usual Toyota Honda Mitsu badge mentality, this car is a very good buy for its price and spacious cargo. ive seen this personally and i'm a 6 footer, the third row is VERY VERY spacious and comfortable even for my height compared to the veloz, expander, brv and even the wanna be 7 seaters like the fort, monty or everest.

@@jbangz2023Except we don't, because the other options already provide us adequate space, and larger people will definitely need larger vehicles with much larger engines than 1.5L displacement, otherwise the vehicle will be working extremely hard to move around heavy and large people, leading to faster mechanical failures of the vehicle.
Besides, what's the point of getting a damn crossover SUV when you cannot appreciate its looks? You bought a crossover SUV that is supposed to look great inside and out, not to be ashamed that it looks like a Toyota Hiace UV Express because it's a PERSONAL car.

I have a Suzuki xl7 and in the past 4 years it has been at the top, if i may say no. 1 mpv. It has the looks, the fuel economy, spacious cabin and very manageable maintenance in terms of money. Change oil not that too expensive, change tires i can manage my budget, change battery after 3 years is ok, as budget minded middle income family of 5, the xl7 is a very competitive car. Now 2024 I see Hyundai Stargazer will be the darling of the crowd of the middle income family. Like the xl7 it will not break the bank and it has a lot of usage as a family car, small business car and office car.

Disclaimer: This is just my POV. Makakarelate yung iba, yung iba naman would disagree.
I chose to buy Honda BRV VX this year with the Premium Opal White Silver Pearl Color over other options. Since di naman issue sakin yung presyo, the primary reason why I chose it was just how it looks from the outside. Simple lang kasi sya, malinis tingnan, pang boy next door ang datingan. It made me feel like hindi sya umeeffort magpapansin, but when you did, you'd appreciate it. It's plain but classy. Unlike some of my options na andami gusto mangyari sa harapan to get your attention that it's giving macho image pero gusto ring maging Boy next door (medyo magulo).
BRV though also doesnt look perfect, I feel like there are some areas na sana mas napush pa yung design. Pero sya na kasi yung pinaka malinis sa segment. It also look best sa side profile compared to any of its competitors. Nakulangan din ako nung una sa color options ng BRV, pero eventually nagustuhan ko yung pinili kong color kasi totoo ung Opal White, Silver at Pearl. Pag tumabi sya sa ibang white or pearl white, iba sya talaga. I enjoyed it also pag iba iba ung sinasabi nung mga nakakakita. May nagsasabi grey, white, blue. Minsan din di sila sure na kotse ko na ung paparating kasi iba nanaman nakikitang color. So hindi sya boring na white.
Two cents on Stargazer naman, nawirduhan ako sa itsura nya nung una but it looks way better sa personal. I'm also happy and impressed na it's value for money, with its technology and safety. Instead of giving me the feeling of "wrong decision" when it beats BRV in some areas, it is giving me the feeling of a worthy competitor that i would even recommend to other buyers.
Runnerup ko pla in choosing the car to buy was Toyota Rush.

Got the top of the line stargazer last March and no regret. It’s the best in its segment. It can climb Baguio’s steep road with ease even fully loaded with passengers and luggages. Spacious, packed with safety features and driving assistant, overly cold ac and many more. Main cons for me are the manual handbrake(should be electronic already like creta) and the cruise control is not adaptive yet (brv top of the line has adaptive).
Dashboard doesn’t obstruct the view at all.

Were you able to drive it in the inner steep streets of Baguio? My pet peeve with reviewers saying "it can go up to baguio" is that they might be concluding to the general vicinity of Baguio. The real Baguio challenge is comprised of the inner steep streets in the city. :)

I watched the Big Test video of Top Gear Philippines where they tested the Honda BR-V, the Hyundai Stargazer, the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross, and the Toyota Veloz. The Stargazer was an easy winner overall in the tests, winning all but three categories, and second place in those it didn't win. The testers were astonished when the Stargazer won the acceleration test, and easily won the braking test as well. They expected the BR-V to win both of those. While I'm a fan of 200+mm of ground clearance, 185mm is OK. For all the kit the Stargazer has, and its unique styling, it's easily my choice among the seven seater MPV/SUVs. Out of the four tested by Top Gear Philippines, only the Stargazer had rear aircon that actually worked properly to keep the second and third row passengers cool. Yet another win for the Stargazer.

I really don't feel the design of the stargazer compare to BR-V VX gen2 which much way better(for me). Others will chose the Stargazer for the sake of having a comfort seats, with huge luggage space where-in Honda developed BR-V as a compact MPV which why it is explainable to be tighter and less space. For a 1.5L gas engine with lower HP on Stargazer. That will define the downside of the vehicle. Stargazer owners expects a car that could handle a lot of weight when actually this could lead to a downside of the vehicle later on. (More repairs in the future! Let's wait and see)
That's the reason why I think Honda really think what an MPV should look like and how it should be. They didn't go for a bigger spacious car(Even though they could!) to prevent the user to overlimit the max recommended weight for the car to survive in the next 10-15 years.
This may be only my opinion that others may disagree but I am willing to sacrifice some space and less comfortability(not actually less, I've already experienced the BR-V trust me it's not bad but it's not the best) just for the sake to have a bulky spaceship looks. Well it's just a preference for the looks.
Plus most Honda users are way more confident in terms of quality parts that was used to built the vehicle.

how can the top of the line variants match the spaciousness, drive and comfortability of the Stargazer? specs wise yes it might be able to topple the Stargazer but hindi sila lalaki sa space and tataas ang comfort jst bec they are top of the line. Price wise....they're more expensive....so even if you compare it with the top of the line......against space, comfort and price....the BRV and Veloz will still lose. specs wise lang sila mananalo. but are those specs very important vs space and comfort and price?

I live in a mountainous area with lots of twists and turns. I agree that the Stargazer seems better in terms of specs, price, and overall design. But the poor visibility (based on various reviews) and the angle of the pillar, which blocks the view on left turns, are dealbreakers.

As much as I dont like the Stargazer, compared to the BRV, it makes more sense as a MPV, and hey at least its not the Alcazar/Grand Creta, that thing is a car that doesnt know what it is and doesnt do anything well.

Stargazer beat BR-V in almost every category. Including acceleration 0-100 just like Creta beat HR-V, and Sonet or Raize beat WR-V. That honda engine only looks good on brochures. Not the best fuel consumption too

@@michaeljanchan5975 yes the stargazer in the video is not directly matched with BR-V. But by default, the Creta beat HR-V non turbo models. And It's the Same engine and trans used in Stargazer and BR-V. Just like WR-V got beat by Sonet, with same engine and transmission. Also rocky and raize beat it too, in acceleration test. Stargazer: Hands down the winner by miles. The BR-V sadly is now very dated and is still being aimed at the over 60's, come on Honda its time to modernise and update the BR- series.

    • @troy5568
      @troy5568 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Ironic because the Stargazer's dashboard looks like from a car in the 80's. I wouldn't have minded it even if it subjectively looks ugly, but it even looks quite a bit large, to the point that it interferes with the vision of the driver to the road, and can be considered dangerous already. So not only does it looks odd, it's also impractical, and even dangerous to some extent.
Dated, as you may say the BR-V's design is, at least it does work and is overall safe for everyone.
