One idea for "one in, one out": I have a finite number of clothes hangers. If all my hangers are full, then I have to get rid of something if I want something else. It's an easy way to control my clothing inventory.
great idea
Ooooh that is a great idea. Are you ever tempted to just double up on a hanger? 🤔😅
@@MostlyMindful Not -- yet. 😉
Great content and video! My only comment about an air fryer is that we use ours a lot. In the sunroom when it’s too hot to cook inside or turn on the oven and when we are running short on time and didn’t plan dinner we will cook bean burgers in five minutes. Also makes the best cauliflower “wings” without frying. That said it was also a gift from my daughter in support of our change to healthy/vegan eating and we sure did appreciate her thoughtfulness!
Love your tops. Together and apart.
Absolutely love you two 🤗. Thank you for the latest content. One of my pet peeves is the 'one use item'. Gone! Love the idea of creating a wishlist. Will start today. Much love from Australia 💖
Wish lists are the best. Another trick we have is window shopping. We don't do it often, but it's a lot of fun. You get to "buy" the stuff without spending a cent. This actually reminded me of a childhood memory. We often went window shopping as a family on a Sunday when the shops were closed, and we wanted something to do.😂 Showing my age. 🤣
Throw the pajamas?! 😆 I need to know more - that sounds fun! Good video today. As for one-use items, you don't need just an air fryer. I had one of those and barely used it. However when my toaster AND the air fryer both quit working, I got a combo unit that will bake, toast, broil, and air fry. Now that is a worthwhile investment. I use it almost everyday and it saves heating up the big oven (and therefore my apartment) for making just one or two servings.
Your intros should be nominated for the bafta...
Decision fatigue is a reality. That’s why cooking more than one meal at a time is always a boon. An efficiency often overlooked. Leftovers are time-savers and often even better than “firsts”. Thanks for another great video. 👍👍 -V
I loved your video!!! Thank you for the tips and the bloopers! Ya’ll are so personable 💕
Yay, glad you enjoy the bloopers...they're often our fave part. Happy the tips are useful, too! 😂
As always, fun and educational! Cheers from the U.S. from a fellow minimalist!
One in and one out is always a good reminder! The best tip would be having a great attitude like you both always have, love it!
If you get an air fryer, do not get the type that looks like a mini oven, they are a huge amount of work to clean. Get the one that has a pull-ut little drawer. But I am lazy so I think I would just put some oil in a pan, cover, shake it around a bit every few minutes. I think I am still waiting for your review of Goodbye Things by Fumio Sasaki.
You two gals are a hoot. Glad I found your channel!
😂 intro cracked me up. What, I don't need to go buy five beige $100 teeshirts? Love to hear more Afrikaans and local sayings/culture. Nearly called one of my kids Jonti after the cricketer (just like the sound of the name). Wishlists are such a good idea. I hardly ever end up buying the things I put on mine!
It was so nice to wake up this morning to find a new video from you 2. It made my morning a happier one. Good morning from N. E. Alabama, U.S.A.
Aaaaahhh, thank you for your kind words. Are you anywhere near Orange Beach? I always Google the place when a viewer says where they are. If we weren't minimalists, we'd have a huge map on the wall and put a pin in every time someone says where they live. 😁
Love your channel! I especially loved your Micro Adventure episode! Maybe after you've sold your car, you could share more of these simple rewarding adventures. Your overall content is excellent, and I love the practical how-to tips as we all reflect and learn along this minimalist journey.
Thank you, thank you, and thank you! 😍 That episode didn't do so well on the channel, so I appreciate you giving it the thumbs up! 😁 We can definitely look at doing more videos like that when we sell the car? something to think about 😀
Writing down what I think I want to buy gives me some relief, like I am acknowledging my own wants/needs. I usually decide later not to buy what is on the list because I really don't want it, I just temporarily got hooked into some passing thought which is gone now.😌 Thanks for the video!
I wanted a juicer for years. I finally got one and only used it a few times. It was such a pain to clean I didn’t want to use it. I donated it. I do love my ninja blender though. I use it everyday.
I was wondering what the "pajamas" meant! lol Thanks for the video! 💕
Loved this one! Thanks for the videos and hello from Australia :)
Love your intro! I always think - is this just one more thing to dust and move around and store and for my kids to get rid of when I go!
You two are a riot! I'd be interested to find out about your pajamas! I wanted to buy organic cotton pajamas but I didn't care for the price tag. So instead, I use my organic clothing that's still in really good shape but I don't care to wear anymore. What I like best is taking early morning walks with Bear in my PJs!
Three of the springs on my mini tramp broke so I'm looking for a new one.
I love my air fryer! But if you have a stove in I can see where you might not want to get one. I had a full size stove when I bought my house but had it removed for more counter space and built a space under the counter for the air fryer. I use it almost every a day. It uses 50% less energy than a regular stove and that's before factoring in the fact it cooks food 25% faster.
I don't have the basket type so don't have the stats on those. I just finished making some garlic toast with nutritional yeast to munch on while watching your video. Nom. Nom.
Hi there! You can buy individual springs for your mini trampoline. I had a full size one for 20 years and simply replaced the springs and mat when needed. It's cheaper and less wasteful than throwing out a whole trampoline! 😎👍
You two are so adorable! 😊
As always BRILLIANT video, I'm doing 1 in 2 out at the moment as my decluttering muscles don't seem to to be working very well 🤔 xx
Lynn here love you both you make my day . ❤️❤️
These are exactly the types of tips I was looking for!! Very practical and helpful. You two are both so charming as well, so happy the algorithm led me here ❤
Hello there! Wow, the 10/10/10 rule made me to ponder more about my goals in life. I’m in my late 20s and doing my best to have a stable job so that I can buy house. But I am not a person of being tied up to a thing as well. Been traveling and living in different cities my whole life.
…
But still don’t have any idea to what I spend the money I save from hard work?!?
…
Any ideas?
Thanks for being here ❤
Have a small notebook by your front door. For a month, as you walk in, write down what you have spent that day. If you shop online 8:55 in the evening, add those items to the list. After a month, go through with coloured highlighters and highlight things in each category. So I have necessary direct debits; treats; unplanned expenses and treats; DIY ( includes garden); health related; etc. Then add up each category. You will soon see where your money is going and can adjust your behaviour accordingly. For example, I found that I had not budgeted for stamps and cards for birthdays- so I started a 'sinking fund' envelope for them.
Btw you can start on whatever date of the month! 9th until 9th is fine!!!
@@lynnoorman2144 wow! I’m grateful for your useful reply! That’s sound like a good plan. Now that I got a new notepad I can start it this way! Cheers
From an older traveler vagabond: I suggest you continue renting, live beneath your means in your day-to-day life, continue to travel, retire early, travel for even longer stays.
@@lynnoorman2144 thanks to you I started tracking my expenses yesterday! We’ll see how it goes 💕
@@lynn_thinks yes that’s what I want! Btw, do you know how I should build on my thoughts towards being “not attached” to things and places?!
It’s been quite hard couple years of me thinking about starting a family, buying a house, saving up money to start a business and “grow”. And this lifestyle as promising as it sounds doesn’t fulfill my needs/dreams!
-
I have doubts getting married, having children and devoting myself to responsibilities, but at the same time I would be devastated if left alone .
Any advice?
pre purchase question: how will I dispose of this item, and how much of it will spend 10000 years in landfill?
I will do this !! 6:30
I went for the airfryer! Love it, Hugh it every day! I don´t have a blender though🤣
I would not recommend the air fryer because it’s just extra clutter in the kitchen and you probably won’t use it enough
Air fryer will just add more acrylamide to your food.
And you are awesome and inspiring.
I do not have a Air Flyer anymore,i give it away.I did not like it
If possible, borrow an air fryer before purchasing one. I lean toward not buying one. It is just another thing to take care of, clean, store.
@@variable_subset Thank you! ❤
Yup, we've decided not to get it as it won't really add value. 😃
No no no!!! Don't throw one out! Don't declutter to just to declutter!! HOW WASTEFUL
