I have a question: Wouldn't skimming through the whole paper make us feel overwhelmed now that we know what questions there are and what if our mind just kind of jumbles the answers to all of them? I have the same problem when it comes to skimming through the paper, so i always go through the questions one by one, and that keeps me relaxed the entire time. But Maybe it's because exams in my country (pakistan) are a lot different than other countries and I've realized most of the tips you've given in this video wouldn't work for an exam system like ours. So good luck to everyone who uses Faye's tips and my exams are going on currently, so wish me luck xx
First of all good luck.....And the second thing is that I literally agree with you.....I really got all my answers jumbled up and had to lose marks and I feel relaxed when it come to writing without knowing what comes next😊
i used to have this problem!! now that we have offline exams it's gotten a lot better for me.. during the first few minutes of the exam i just write down key points for answers that i already know on the question paper itself and then start writing those answers.. if i don't know the answer for any question then i leave space on the answer sheet to come back to later. this way, i get more time in the end to re-check my answers and i usually am a lot calmer at that time and that helps me remember answers that i may not have remembered during the exam!! hope this helps

Reading these marks made me realize our exam system is really different. Firstly we're not even allowed to write anything on our question paper. That could be considered a serious crime idk. And we solve our answers on a separate answer sheet. So we dont have to "leave space" for questions, we could just write it wherever. Then we've got the short questions first, they're only about 2 marks each , we have to solve 8, 8, and 6, short questions of each part. Then come the long questions which mark 5 marks each and we have to solve 6 of them. Idk if u can see this pattern but that's why skimming through the whole paper makes us overwhelmed because most questions mark the same.
Actualy I was quite shocked when you said that you do the harder questions first. The method I swear by is doing the simpler ones first really fast, after skimming the paper so that I'm sure I'm already done with the majority of the questions in the first half of the exam. And then, I've got an hour or half depending on the duration of the exam to slowly think and tackle the harder ones.
I personally prefer physical classes more as I understand the concepts and pay attention .....My exams are around the corner thank you so much for the motivation :)

My biggest mistake In exams and tests is not reading the question properly and not going over my answers. My teachers always told me to reread what i wrote and read the questions properly but I never really took that advice seriously. I’m an auditory learner so something that helps me a lot Is to read the question and my answer out loud and explain to myself why it makes sense. But like I don’t want to disturb anyone while taking the test so I just word it out so that there’s no way it’s audible to anyone but me. Doing this has helped me so much, even when studying and doing homework. I feel so much more productive and I feel like I’m actually learning something.
I am going to be a senior high school this coming august (one break yikes) and the interviewer told me that shs is the same as college, so I will definitely take note of these. I wish I'll be at my best in those two years. I felt like a failure as of the moment, but oh well, we learn from the mistakes and, failure is just a postponed success.

The school is very confusing with making questions. They tell you not to study that one part but then again questions related to that will appear for exams. Effective tips and outstanding ones( i am currently in a tensed state right now, i have two teachers teaching english and the timetables does not say who is teaching when????!!!)

I have finals in a week and I still haven't started revising... This is very important for my electives next year and I really wish to get into the subjects I want, wish me luck!!
Tip 2 is so useful, because my exams are essays for each question. For some questions they're so simple and short both in the book and lecture and probably I won't be able to fill the paper. Teachers give low point, if the answers are short. But when you can link them to other topics well and you explain things from different perspective, they like it.
One thing I do really well is that even if I don't apply the trick in my studies I just suggest it too my friends. Well I tried many and they work aswell gonna try this aswell.
"Recreating exam conditions during revision" sounds like something I can't do 😅 For tip 4; Skim through paper... I skimmed through the paper but my brain just; "I don't know the answers, not even a bit... I hate this 😭" and taking my lovely time on fill in the blank or a/b/c/d questions... 😭

Rn I'm having in-person exams and I like them better than online exams because in my school, online exams were conducted by screen sharing the questions which doesn't allow all the students in the class to go in their own pace and answer the harder questions first. Thankyou for these tips Faye , I've already been using some of the tips you mentioned in this video and they are quite helpful in scoring marks. ❤️

I highly agree with the fact that you shouldn't snack when doing practice papers or past papers if you cant do it at your exams Because it will make you hungry or think of food when answering the papers at your final exam which isn't gonna help
In less than an hour I have a credit for my interpretation classes - thankfully this one is online. This week I'm having 5 written in-person exams, the next week brings another 3 (including 2 oral exams). Having mental breakdown currently, zero energy and motivation. My finals last 2 weeks at the end of the term and EVERYTIME month before them is a disaster - you have to get all the credits to pass the course and take an exam, you have some exams, you generally have to study a lot and then you have no energy for finals. So... yeah. I'm drowning in the ocean of notes and tears.
where I study the points you get are exactly how much time you have. For example a 90 minute exam will have 90 points in total. So I usually know just by looking how many points a question gives how much time I can expect to spend on the answer.

In physical classes if u have a Q u can on point ask it while in online it's takes time for the teacher to go through the chat box so yeah this is the one reason too why for me physical is much better:) anyways I'm having my chemistry final exam on Tuesday huhu kinda nervous ofc but well good luck to me and good luck to all who are having exams or are about have exams. I am Sri Lankan high school student who is gonna do ALs in 2 years. Chemistry is the hardest subject for me. Can somebody give some tips to learn chemistry? My school text book doesn't help me at all.Reading the text book confuses me even more.
Try past papers. You can find books with questions from each lesson seperately in book shops.

3. set time limits for each question

The school is very confusing with making questions. They tell you not to study that one part but then again questions related to that will appear for exams. Effective tips and outstanding ones( i am currently in a tensed state right now, i have two teachers teaching english and the timetables does not say who is teaching when????!!!)

I have finals in a week and I still haven't started revising... This is very important for my electives next year and I really wish to get into the subjects I want, wish me luck!!
Tip 2 is so useful, because my exams are essays for each question. For some questions they're so simple and short both in the book and lecture and probably I won't be able to fill the paper. Teachers give low point, if the answers are short. But when you can link them to other topics well and you explain things from different perspective, they like it.
One thing I do really well is that even if I don't apply the trick in my studies I just suggest it too my friends. Well I tried many and they work aswell gonna try this aswell.

For tip 4; Skim through paper...
I skimmed through the paper but my brain just; "I don't know the answers, not even a bit... I hate this 😭" and taking my lovely time on fill in the blank or a/b/c/d questions... 😭

Rn I'm having in-person exams and I like them better than online exams because in my school, online exams were conducted by screen sharing the questions which doesn't allow all the students in the class to go in their own pace and answer the harder questions first.

In less than an hour I have a credit for my interpretation classes - thankfully this one is online. This week I'm having 5 written in-person exams, the next week brings another 3 (including 2 oral exams). Having mental breakdown currently, zero energy and motivation. My finals last 2 weeks at the end of the term and EVERYTIME month before them is a disaster - you have to get all the credits to pass the course and take an exam, you have some exams, you generally have to study a lot and then you have no energy for finals. So... yeah. I'm drowning in the ocean of notes and tears.

where I study the points you get are exactly how much time you have. For example a 90 minute exam will have 90 points in total. So I usually know just by looking how many points a question gives how much time I can expect to spend on the answer.
