      @@RileyBrandt Yes...I've already finished it; everything is very clear. I hope in the future you could make some other course about Darktable ... maybe focused on the most advanced modules and effects. Some complete workflow also could be very useful. Thanks

    Thank you so much for this and other tutorials! I just started using Darktable to work with NEF RAW files from my Nikon D750. Your videos are a perfect introduction.

    Thanks for sharing. Just a little hint: you can also change exposure and black by click and drag on the histogram or use the mouse wheel.

    Hi Riley.I have just started using Dark table.My question is this, you import your image to light table, edit your image in dark table, then export it to where you want it to go,what I can't work out is how do I then delete that image so it is no longer there.In light room if I right click on the image I then get a drop down, select "delete" then get 3 options I then select delete.Many thanks Ray.

    Love your work :) your tutorials are great. Will you be making more darktable videos and getting in depth?

      Hi Russell,
      Thanks! I'm glad you like my tutorials. Yes, I will be posting more content about darktable, GIMP and other applications. Should be around the middle of September or early October.

    Hi thanks a lot for this tutorial! But I have an issue. When I open an image in darkroom, it appears very gray and dark, and not at all like in the video :/ Is there a solution to avoid this ?

    wonderful video Riley! Thank you so much, this time I could really see your screen and what you were doing with it. Do you have a darktable course, or I misunderstood the idea? Again, thank you!!! Cheers from Uruguay.

      +Daniela Argandoña Hi Daniela, I am happy to hear you liked the lesson. Yes, I have a photography course (it's 30% off until Tuesday) www.rileybrandt.com/lessons/
      You can view a list of all the lessons here: www.rileybrandt.com/foss-course-outline/

      +Riley Brandt I would like to buy it, just a small question, if I don't understand anything (remember I speak spanish) where may I ask you for help? ) And I don't have Gimp or the other program you mention... is it the same? I do have Photoshop 6 and lightroom... but I found that DT has so much to give than LR ! I await for your answer before buying the course. Hugs from far away!

    • @RileyBrandt
      @RileyBrandt  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Daniela Argandoña Well, it's hard to say if you should buy it if English isn't your first language. If you can understand my TH-cam videos, you should be able to understand my course. There isn't any "zoom" effect in the course, like I use in my videos here.
      Are you on a Mac? Which version of Mac OS X are you running? GIMP is available for Mac. And the "other program"? Did you mean Rapid Photo Downloader? It isn't necessary. You could just use darktable to import and rename your photos if you want. The FAQ page lists compatibility: www.rileybrandt.com/foss-course-faq/
      You can contact me via email from the Contact page of my website.

    Question? Noticed your courses on open source photography are for Linux users. Is there a big difference from Linux to Microsoft OS? I'm not familiar with Linux and wonder if they'd be beneficial if applied to Windows? Thanks Riley

    • @RileyBrandt
      @RileyBrandt  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, back in the day, darktable wasn't available on Windows, so I focused on Linux users. Now that darkable is available for Windows, I think the only application that is Linux only is RapidPhotoDownloader. So, there is one lessons that you'd miss out on.

    • @RileyBrandt

      If you are running Linux, darktable will probably be in your repository. If you are on a Mac, you need to download it: www.darktable.org/install/
