This is a wonderful version of a fine Dylan song. By far the best version (including the original) and the Audiotree performance is even better in my opinion. Emily's fiddle playing on both is simply gorgeous and I admire them both so much
As much as I love the original version, they put the lyrics into context in this version and really brought contrast to the song! Possibly better than the original version. If you actually listen to this as a grown adult good luck not crying.
This was my mother's favorite Dylan song, and I never quite understood why, as she and my father were happily wed until her death two years ago. I recently asked my father about this and he told me that she loved the poignancy of the song, I wish she could have heard this version (perhaps she did, I certainly don't know). RIP Catherine.
watched almost all of your vids. love them. You changed your guitar, it sounds great. What is it. Gibson, Martin , Taylor. Boy, you can hear it`s not a 500 dollar guitar.
@MsCowboy82 a friend of mine was talking to andrew at a show in huntsville, and apparently him and a firned made that guitar or something. not kidding you.
Just revisiting a couple of versions of this classic Bob Dylan song. Just my opinion, no prejudice intended... Orange Mandolin have a good shot at it. The guy's guitar work is great, but his vocals are weak. The lady should probably do the vocals. But, if one has only heard this version & Bob Dylan's, then they are in for a big treat, to listen to the Namci Griffith rendition... Nanci is one of the wonders of the singing world & few can compare with her amazing spirit & voice...
What Davy P said! The Audiotree performance has cleaner sound and Emily's fiddle playing is more assured, as is Andrew's voice. I know the Nanci Griffith version well but this is still the best in my opinion
I beg to differ. Andrews voice provides an earthy counterpoint to the angelic voice of his wife, providing the best type of contrast, making the song all the more poignant

Absolutely agree with you.
No other of this generation compares. This truly does this incredible song justice. Stupid good!!
