I have been riding an alloy custom built one all year.....3 enduro podiums and pedaled it all year and bike park all year as well. Somewhat of a quiver killer
Full Send MTB- the only thing I’ve changed was the rear tire, I’m using a specialized eliminator, black diamond casing to prevent rim damage. I was racing sport class not expert, so they were a 10 mile and a 7 mile course. I’m sure that heavy of a set up would catch up to me if it were 20-30 miles.
Awesome review! I've been looking at this exact model and have been second guessing it for the same reasons but your input helped clear it up a lot! Super excited to hopefully get mine in the next couple of weeks!
Nice job. Holy smokes, that was a good review. I wound up getting the regular 29 stumpjumper. Couldn't be happier however I did have to make a tool to reach down and grab the dropper cable from inside the seat tube. Made my life way easier. And yes, mine too is quiet as a church. mouse.
Great review mate definitely echoed a lot of my own thoughts. I've had mine since last April and it's now my favourite bike I've owned. Ended up extending the travel on both ends ( 160 fork and 154 rear with progressive coil spring) and it's now the monster it always wanted to be haha. Be good to see some POV action mate.
I have had this bike for a while now and it's the best bike I have ever ridden. Probably because of my size. I can corner much easier on this bike and I like the suspension.
Del Fell setting the rear shock to the firmest position and it feels planted without much pedal bob, pretty easily over roots but tight turns might be the only headache but it’s a small price to pay. I own the comp evo stumpjumper
I am having a really hard time deciding between this and the 2020 Norco Sight A2. Same fork but 160mm travel on Norco vs 150 on EVO X2 shock on the Norco, DPX2 on the EVO. Same NX drivetrain, but Norco has GX derailleur and Descendant crank (EVO has NX everything) Norco has Stans rims with DT370 hubs which IMO are better than the Roval wheels with no name/Specialized hubs. Both have Code R brakes Both have a 63.5 head angle Sight has a steeper seat tube angle Sight has much lower standover height (I'm only 5'6") Sight has 455mm reach (M), EVO is 465mm (S2), wheelbase is almost identical (Norco 1220mm vs EVO 1228mm), EVO is 4499.99CAD and Sight is 4599.99CAD. It's crazy how identical these two bikes are. These numbers are for the 27.5" models.
Hey there, I am looking into an MRP progressive coil but after some research it looks like it may be a tight fit with the adapters. Was that your experience?
marlon cordova I find a lower stack helps weight the front wheel and prevents understeer on flatter turns. Even on really steep stuff I never really feel the need to have it higher. It’s definitely something worth playing with.
Hey man, just got about 2 weeks on my Evo 29. Have you had any issues with the rear shock prematurely needing service? I haven't had issues but two of my co-workers that run DPX2 Coils have had several issues early on. Thanks mate!
Hey, yeah I have had a couple of DPX2's now, one has been faultless for nearly a year, over 180 hours of riding in all conditions and the other required a warranty service from brand new. I've also had Rock Shox super deluxe coil that was faulty from new so I'd say its kind of a luck of the draw thing, it hasn't put me off either brand though.
Tom Reeves thanks, good to know. I heard the long yoke is part of the problem...it puts extra strain on the seals of the shock body. I’m running a RS Super Delux Ultimate with a MegNeg air can...hoping it holds up for the season🤞
Thinking about this or the new enduro! Any thoughts? Mainly trail riding and big hills in the lakes with a few euro trips. On the 29 LT stumpy at the moment.
Jason Chambers, for the riding your describing you won’t go wrong with the stumpy evo, it’s a hoot and certainly very capable although the new enduro is said to pedal even better due to more anti squat. It’s a tricky one!
@@JasonChambersPhoto Cheers! One of my first rides on this bike was in the Lakes actually and for the awesome rocky bridleways you have there its pretty darn good, just point and shoot!
Roval rims on cheap hubs. Not a roval wheele. Have the s3 and rear hub lasted for 10 hours, no kidding. Rims and spokes were fine, stripped threads on hub. Heavier rider. Replaced with th swiss wheele and hub which uses no threads!

I did two xc races last year on my 19 stumpjumper evo, I placed almost top in my class both times. I love that bike
Swpa 87 nice job dude! Did you change your setup at all for races?

Can you share some information on the suspension upgrades? It’s an awesome bike stock but I’m always interested in making it better.

Great review/presentation. I am considering whyte 120 but if weight similar, I will go for big s.
Sander Pounder Thank you. yeah there’s the Stumpjumper ST (short travel) at 120mm, I bet it’s a hoot!
Hey man, good review!
I have a question about rear tire clearance. Do you think a 2.6” tire would fit in the back?
I love the look of this bike how hard is it riding up the trail being so slack ? Is it a real drama ? Also looking at the Santa Cruz bronson

Schrute-Farms- you can buy the 160mm air spring for the fox 36 for about $40, you won’t need it though with it being so slack.
Specialized for sure and you also get the name
