Nice! ALMOST perfect! 😄 Mayo goes on the middle bun and a dash of salt on top of the burger. At some point, I think in the late ‘70’s, or early ‘70’s, they replaced the lettuce wedge, or, “Heart of Lettuce”, as they called it with a small iceberg lettuce salad with your choice of dressing. I’m hungry!
Ohio has always used white sauce for Big Boys out here (basically Big Boy Tartar sauce) we still have 2 Coperate Big Boys in Cleveland Ohio and Frisch's Big Boy is all over western and Southern Ohio
Bobs Big Boy statue was made by my father Bill Swan along with many other iconic fiberglass statues which are in my short Amazon book called "The man behind the mufflerman ".
It’s not chili sauce, it’s red relish. And BOB’S Big Boy has always used the red relish. Other Big Boy franchises, like Elias Bros, did and still do use thousand islands dressing, or something similar, but the original Bob’s way is the red relish.
Yes they did. Frisch's didn't. Frisch's Big Boy( a Bob's franchise) used tartar sauce. In the mid west, thousand island dressing was used. (called Big Boy sauce) The original Bob's Big Boy Burger was arranged like this: Bun (Sesame Seed) toasted Red Relish w/pinch of salt 1/8 lb beef patty Mayo 3/4" toasted middle bun 1/8 lb beef patty slice of American Cheese 1 1/2 oz shredded lettuce 1 1/2 inch toasted bottom bun

The Bob's Big Boy hamburger sauce was a thousand Islands sauce, but was on the burger itself.

Thanks Skip. How do you season the meat?
Just salt and pepper. Bob’s may have used a seasoning salt though.
They didn't use the chili sauce back then but a 1000 Island mix. The red chili sauce has been around 10 to 13 years or so, which tastes awful.

Big Boys Don't Use Mayo
They did in 1966.

The original Bob's Big Boy Burger was arranged like this:
Bun (Sesame Seed) toasted
Red Relish w/pinch of salt
1/8 lb beef patty
Mayo
3/4" toasted middle bun
1/8 lb beef patty
slice of American Cheese
1 1/2 oz shredded lettuce
1 1/2 inch toasted bottom bun
The red sauce is just chili sauce and sweet pickle relish.
There was no chili sauce in the original Bob's red relish
