    The best thing I’ve found to use the turkey neck, legs and wings is to ham brine and cure them, then heavily smoke. I then use that for bean seasoning. Leg meat will fall off the leader bones easily leaving the bones to pick out.

    Excellent video!! Perhaps in the future, you could make an old fashion stew out of it. Perhaps an old-style Hungarian Goulash with paprika, but instead of beef, you use Wild Turkey😋 In addition, some king of old-style Vietnamese soup recipe would also work well, but instead adding duck, you use Wild Turkey👍

    Now remember if you got a good pressure cooker you can make any meat tender juicy tasty in 30 mins.
    I hoped you used them bones and extra bits for stock. Why ..you could put in that pie..when it becomes like jelly. In the meat eaten even nice.n cold.
    Yaw'll be blessed now .

    Meaty treats are always neat! Harvesting wild or farm raised protein for the dinner table is always a respectable act of admirable self sufficiency. And dumbed down critics can't get their incapable minds around these things. I'd guess the turkey was dispatched with a .22 round and it lost consciousness fast.

    • @McGieHomesteadAdventures
      @McGieHomesteadAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      It was a 12 gage shotgun since the .22 is not a legal weapon for turkey hunting in Tennessee. But yes it never knew what hit him. Instantly unconscious.

      @@McGieHomesteadAdventures Isn't the bird harder to process with lots of buckshot in its flesh or am I missing something like can you aim for the head only.

    • @McGieHomesteadAdventures
      @McGieHomesteadAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      @charlessavoie2367 occasionally a pellet will be in the meat, but generally with a good full choke and heavy turkey load the shot pattern is tight enough that it is only head trauma. And if the game warden catches you hunting turkeys with a .22, he will take the turkey away from you and also the .22 rifle as well as take you to court and levee fines against you. Not fun.

    Who tosses a couple pounds of meat out? Heck even making grind or who doesn't own a slow cooker or heck even a instant pot? (pressure cooker) or a pot to stew/braise.. wild turkey has pretty significant sized legs. don't waste.. however I just use the legs as is brown braise slow cook or pressure cook.. let cool.. separate the meat save the stock then make the pot pie freeze and or cook for dinner that night.. might as well not waste the bone broth :)

      #1. I could shout you out and get you a few subscribers….. (taking a risk myself because I don’t know if your anything about you…. And my subscribers trust me to give good advice.
      #2. I’ve got some really good, consistent TH-camrs that watch all my videos and make meaningful comments on them that I haven’t shouted out yet….. they’d be in line before you (they’ve been solid followers for up to 3 years!)
      #3. Most importantly I could possibly get you a few subs, but I can’t make you a good TH-camr, or make your channel a great channel for people to connect with- only you can do that. If you follow the 3 simple rules as I did you can make it! Subscribers that stumble across your videos are much better and more loyal than any I could ever throw your way! You can do it bud….
