Sam: “what was it like in that town?” Nate: “well it’s, yeah I mean…it was, it was, I like - y’know? I guess it was, it was like, they know like uh, you know?”

Every bit is solid from his original to his latest content. My family and my kids love his comedy. The time travel bit gets me and my wife everytime. Yelled at by a clown is a classic.
I like this episode because they aren't /trying/ to be "podcast material;" they are comics--familiar comics--talking shop... which, imo, /makes/ for great podcast material. No pandering. No one-upsmanship. No cherry picking. Just comics' conversation. Excellent.
I love the pictures behind the guest/mark couch. That's an awesome tribute, and it's visible every episode. All amazing comedians we wish could come on this show.
I have been Binging this Podcast for weeks. Nate is droning on about random grievances with Literally No entertainment value. I feel like I am just watching a sad therapy session with Nate. Tried so hard - but after an hour and 6 min - Cannot watch this Anymore. Make it Stop!!!
Hot dog, you guys get a lot of big guests on the show :D so cool to see nate on as well as so many other good comedians recently. thinkin back to when you guys were just 1 on 1 in a zoom pod xD
I love these guys but It’s nauseating sometimes the way comedians think they’re so unique and special.. there’s so many examples of other professions that do similar things to things they act like are exclusive to them. I sometimes just can’t believe they can say some of this stuff with a straight face and not realize how ridiculous they sound. I blame Rogan though.. he started that talk about how special comics are and everybody else followed suit.
Yeah I love them but it's kind of funny when they criticize the film industry for example. When comedians are just as fucked up if not worse, many of them are sociopaths just seeking fame and wealth like actors. Like they'll criticize something actors do, and then later use a different tone when talking about comedians doing the same exact thing. I'm a big fan, but honestly I expect them to be horrible people and I don't even wish to meet them.
Jim Gaffigan attended Purdue University for one year, where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, before transferring to Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, where he graduated in 1988 with a degree in finance. He played football at Georgetown and Purdue. Although he hated studying finance, he worked as a litigation consultant for a short time after graduating and "was horrible at it" : 0
I saw Gaffigan about 25 years ago play in Shanghai, in the back room of a bar to about 25 people cos the city didn’t have comedy clubs, because it didn’t - and pretty much still doesn’t - have a comedy scene. Great gig, clearly he’ll go anywhere. I kind of had in the back of my mind, well how good can this guy be if he’s coming here, but he killed, and then seeing his success since has been great. Respect.
great podcast. Nate is the realest guy. I'm not even too familiar with his standup but if he's ever in ireland I'm there. Same for the rest of ye, including Morril but only if i get a 15% discount....... Jokes :D all love guys

It amazes me, that Nick Mullen reading Wikipedia pages while podcasting packs in more humor than these 3 (who are all great stand ups) can muster up for a pod.
1:06:20 Jim Gaffigan delivers on most of his podcast appearances as well. He makes sure to strive for an interesting, contemporaranious conversation. Some comics do a podcast run and you'll understandibly hear the same stories repeated on most every interview. Jim's tend to be more unique and leave you wanting to download all of them.

This was a tough one.. i can listen to comics talk about comedy but nearly two hours straight and guest with no enthusiasm or attempts to be funny is a struggle. I know he’s funny on stage, just felt very little effort on this pod.
At this point, the comedy podcasts should steer clear away from talking about the ins and outs of comedy. It's never entertaining, and by now, I think I could be a comedy agent the amount I heard about it. Nate's my second favourite comic, but here he's like the guy you'd avoid at a party.
I haven’t listened to this ep. But I’ll just say my theory for the frequent shop talk is that mark and Sam do little to no prep and let the show go where it goes. As a result comedians default to what they have in common, which is shop talk and which is incredibly boring.
I saw Nate on a morning show this week. I was explaining to someone why Nate is going to be next level big (and rich) like Gaffigan. Because he is willing to do the hard shows while severely limiting the topics, he will discuss. It a sad reality that it can be hard for, even great comedians, that are less universal (our beloved hosts) to get as financially successful at that next level because they are not seen as appropriate for a broad (~family) audience. It's really interesting to hear Nate has a similar perspective and self-awareness regarding himself and his career. Great guy, possibly an even better comedian!
