- A time-lapse tour of my camper van conversion packed with features.
The van is a 2003 Piaggio Porter Diesel ( Remake of Daihatsu HiJet )
Some of the features of the van are:
-Running water with 15L tank and stainless steel sink
-Gasoline cooker stove
-Collapsible table
-Couch/bed/storage combination with custom made mattress modules
-Hidden storage with secret lock
-Several wall mounted storage racks
-In between seats storage/cup holders
-Above head T-shaped storage cabinet
-4 integrated storage units in rear door.
-Dimmable interior LED lights
-Flexible reading light
-Wooden interior paneling with foam insulation
-Solar powered roof mounted ventilator
-1,80m deep extendable awning
-Victron 350W 230V supply with 3X power strip
-Victron ArgoFET battery isolator
-6 high-power USB ports (2 front, 4 back)
-95Ah secondary battery
-Battery monitoring system
-Roof-rack
-2x Roof-rack mounted LED flood lights 60W
-320L Rooftop cargo carrier

It's a while ago that I built it. Can't make a video sorry 😅
It's basically two strong aluminium telescopic tent poles attached to the roof rack. Their collapsed length is as wide as the roof rack and when they slide out, they form the sides of the awning and hold the fabric.
The tips of the poles are connected with a bamboo stick and both tips have also a bamboo stick attached that rotate down to function as the legs.

Does the diesel drive some reasonable speed? 90kmh travel speed on highway, 100kmh if you push it? I am about to buy one, 1,3ltr diesel somewhat like 29kW, wondering if it is enough. Thank you.
I'd say 95 if you push it. 100 if you go downhill.
I prefer 80kmh tho. Don't wanna max out the engine for long periods.
My routes take about 40% longer than Google maps says 😅 but it's fine for me

@@matejkoudelka-torosteam something like that yes hahah. Also for long trips I like to use headphones 😂 the engine noise can be pretty annoying after a few hours driving.

1st time i've seen a left hand drive kei van in the west. it a conversion job or is it stock?
It's stock. It's a Piaggio Porter which is a rebadged Daihatsu Hijet.
Other LHD non-Japanese kei vans are Daewoo Damas (rebadged Suzuki Carry) and Kia Towner (rebadged Daihatsu Hijet).
