An obvious reference to "Cryin'" Ryan "All" Day! He said that they had one bad half up in Ann Arbor two seasons ago. What? What about the Oregon game? What about the Michigan game in Columbus last year? You won the 1st quarter 10-3. Then proceeded to be outscored 42-13. Cryin' Ryan seems to have forgotten about these facts. That's ok though. Michigan is going to remind him in November.

Doesn't matter to teams like army or navy that take out a top ten USC or a Appalachian state taking out a number 1 at the time Michigan. I still remember that game. For the most part Coach Fleck was honest. But now it's time for me to be honest. Yes the Gophers have lost some guys to the portal (but not all of them were playing). Yes the Gophers have played some good teams. Yes they have three starters injured. But the truth is after the 2019 season Tanner Morgan's play digressed & kept digressing. Athan's play is not improving & has digressed from last year. In the 2021, 20022 & now the 2023 season, the Gophers mental focus, execution & game planning has been repeatedly inconsistent... especially on offense & special teams. The Gopher passing game simply does not attack defenses in a way that makes it hard for them to defend. Then there are the inexcusable losses from 2021-2023 to teams that they should not have lost to. The bottom line... the Gophers coaching staff is average at best... & in last nights game verse Michigan all of this was very evident. It's one one thing to lose & it's another to not even be competitive. The Gophers have not recruited that poorly. So please Coach Fleck, don't tell us you are a still a good football team... because the coaching is not good... it's average.

Fleck was the hot name in coaching when he took WMU to 13-0 and the Cotton Bowl. I’m not sure why he went to Minnesota, but he’s kind of in football hell now - at best they win 7 or 8 games a year and go to some rinky-dink bowl game. They haven’t been close to anything as good as that 2016 Cotton Bowl. I don’t know if he’ll get an option to move to a school where he can actually contend for anything. Minnesota Gophers = perpetual losers.
    The question is why?
Minnesota's very best players often go to Wisconsin or Notre Dame where football is the only game in town. The Gophers play in Minneapolis where the team competes with pro teams such as the Twins, Vikings, T-Wolves, Wild, and others for media attention. Thus, in other schools, football players become the big hero in town. Not so much in Minneapolis.
The state high schools produce mostly big but slow white guys who do not have the forward speed or lateral quickness of their peers in other states. Compared to states such as Texas, California, Florida, etc, Minnesota produces very few players who go on to careers in the NFL.
Bottom line is that the Gophers are at a disadvantage when it comes to football talent and teams. Despite all the efforts and money put into making it a better team, Minnesota will never again become the national champion like it was in the old days.

Michigan playing these Big Ten tomatoe cans is giving them a false sense of superiority. That's how an overmatched team like TCU can shock them. Michigan should start the season playing against some southern teams. There's a reason so many national champs have been from south of the Mason-Dixon Line the last decade or so. They don't do it with smoke and mirrors; there is a VERY deep talent pool down here. They take football veeeeery serious in Dixie!!

Smh, they do as well up north and are catching up. In "dixie" it's literally win at any and all costs. OSU had that mentality until Harbaugh finally rose, or sank to that level and was able to match theml. It's another step to compete in the bowl games. Michigan and their staff are historically bad when it comes to their bowl prep. They should have easily beaten TCU. That was 100% on the coaches, especially the defensive side. They are out coached every single year in their bowl games period.

Ugh.....Football is ALL THEY HAVE IN THE SOUTH. The south is a shit hole. It's poor, it smells, it's hot, it's uneducated, it's overly christian, and it's poor. Let them have their football
