- I'm sure that most of Phil's 50 fans know of the Dave Peller tape (in case you don't - • Phil Ochs Last Recording ) but few know about the Larry Sloman tape. This tape was also recorded 48 years ago around this time in 1975, but the exact date is not known.
Over the past several years I've been asked about this tape many times, and last month I was lucky enough to finally find it buried deep in my harddrive. I posted about how I found this tape on the Phil Ochs Facebook group, and both Dave Peller and Larry Sloman were kind enough to reply to my post and encourage me to share it with everyone. Unfortunately I have little information on the tape, except that it was recorded in December 1975 and that Phil was then working on a new album called Duel in the Sun which sadly never came out. I'll update the video description whenever I find more information on it.

Thankyou for uploading this.
12:02 Ballad of Train
thank you !!!
After listening this a few times, it seems this tape was before the other, since most of the songs are still sketches and the other tape has more finished songs. Though, some of them aren't the same.
Phil's friend is a bit insistent with his enthusiasm, which is a shock to Ochs humour, I feel. Phil kept almost silent to such enthusiasm.
I've heard a snapshot of "Reincarnation", which I thought was from his previous days. It turns out, it is from his last days... This is another example of Ochs closing life circle. (among the other ones are his return to country and rock & roll, his memories of childhood or concerning more with journalism and movies than with music (see his writings)).
