i'm a year into growing my own mushrooms now Paw, there is SO much I learned from making wine that carries over. Much more than growing plants, believe it or not!
Made up some mixed berry (3 bottles) and some mango (1 bottle) 3 weeks ago according to your instructions. Going to check on it next week. Oh and for "us" Europeans, a cup of sugar is 200 grams😊❤. Love your wine recipe PawPaw.
Yay, it's done! And it turned out absolutely fantastic. The mixed berry juice wine tastes similar to mulled wine we have for Christmas in Germany. And the mango came out great as well, but mixed with a bit of sparkling water makes a wonderful refreshing drink. Thank you PawPaw! All it takes is to follow your instructions 🙏🙏🙏🥰
learned to make wine from this man about 5 years ago now, i've since made many wines and meads. he's very knowledgeable and if you pay attention to the steps he gives then it should turn out fine. PawPaw congrats on the nearly 98k subs!
Just started my first batch 5 minutes ago. Berry blend. Now it's a waiting game, pretty excited! Thanks paw paw, you remind me of Santa only you bring better presents =)
how many containers did u get? AND... how u likin the ferment aroma? I got me some mango nectar I am doin up... u cant even imagine how gorgeous that aroma is while fermenting... Mango wine... Good Lord. I can hardly wait....
Thanks for the reminder, PawPaw!! I have two bottles of grape juice in the pantry right now with this specific use in mind. Just gotta get it mixed up. Have tried lots of different kinds of juices but so far, I like just good ol' purple grape juice wine the best. I do let the sugar "heap" a little when measuring, though, because I like it a bit sweeter. Appreciate ya, my friend!
I just found your video's and fell in love with them!! My husband and I just made the 1st batch here in Ohio..You would be someone that I would like to meet in person..Thank you for bring your smile into our home. Our 1st batch should be done on 11-19-2023..Don't stop making these video's!! may God bless you and your family!
on oct,13th I started 4 gallons of frozen blackberries. i picked last year. and its rolling great this morning . 10/14/2023 YUMMY I USE THE SAME YEAST. works great.
Paw Paw, the Great! It's great to see another wine making video. You started me off years ago 98.1 now You certainly deserve your silver button I hope it's soon ❤️
Hey Pawpaw I just wanted to thank you for starting me on my Winemaking journey. I started with your videos 4 yrs ago and since then I progressed in equipment and knowledge and complexity. But whenever anyone asks "how do you make wine" I send them to your videos and tell em' "this is how I started, it's as easy as this". Wanted to thank you in case this really is your last wine video (tho I hope it isn't). 🍷
I've used pretty much that same method for years. We used to put what they called a "10 cent" balloon on top for an airlock, but I like using the cap the same as you. New subscriber here.
@@DoingItCheap I've been trying different types of juice and different sugar. A couple I ended up dumping out. I enjoy it though. When I have some more money I'm going to try and make a few really fancy batches.
I made my first batch using grape juice. Followed the recipe not quite exactly, transfered all the juice into a 1 gallon Jug. Melted 2 cups sugar in about 1 qt of water. Added that plus 1/2 tsp of yeast. Net result was a little over 3/4 of gallon. OMG, after 24 days in a constant 70ish degree in my basement, darn good tasting wine in my view. Not to dry or sweet. Pretty good kick to it! Transferred out of the primary fermentation jug into another 1 gallon jug, will bottle in another week or so. First time I ever made wine and the wife said she likes it, and it is strong.
Thank you PawPaw, I never believed I could make wine, all “wine experts” tend to go insane with the equipment and procedures to scare people off. But today I found the truth, your wine recipe. True wine, nothing will beat that Paw. So I thank you again, blessings 🙏
PawPaw, love your videos, I am headed to ALDIs now to get some juice to be ready for Thanksgiving. I love it cheap and simple. Thank you for enlightening the world with your humor and knowledge.
This takes me back my freinds and I always did this cus you could buy yeast sugar and juice as a kid but you can’t buy whiskey once we even made a mead cus my uncle was a bee keeper so we got the honey for free (not knowing what we where using it for
I love watching your wine videos. Keep em coming. I decided to try your method and make myself some wine to enjoy at Christmas I picked up a jug of regular cranberry juice and saw this white cranberry juice blend and decided to try it too. It apparently is a blend of white cran berry juice white grape juice and apple juice all mixed together. I’ll let you know how it turns out. Thx for sharing your cheap wine making methods
I'm emptying my mom's freezer, cooking juice, add a mountain of sugar and a little yeast. Let's see what happens. I tried pawpaw's recipe a few years ago and it was the best concert ever. I could see sounds 😂🎉
I think I just ran into your doppelgänger today. I almost said something, but he made a remark that he doesn’t drink before noon. I remarked that it’s noon somewhere, and he agreed with me. lol😊 I appreciate your videos. My cranberry mango juice came out nicely and disappeared quickly.
I swear PawPaw, I think you have turned me in to a wino, lol! I have about 10 gal of wine brewing using your recipe. My shop is just full of bottles. Can't wait to taste it, but leaving it alone like you said.
I just love you and I needed to see this video today. My Momma passed away 10/23/2015..... 9:17am She was Italian and we loved wine. Gonna make so in her honor. Thank you Sir ❤❤❤❤
Homemade wine is pretty hard to screw up. I was doing 2 new and one attempt at reusing must (experimental)-and well I got distracted by some deliveries and lost my way with amounts. So, some got more yeast, some not enough sugar-some got less yeast and lots more sugar. In the end, they all came out tasting fine, some just had more sediment and some took longer. Good fun-thanks for the videos!
Good to see you Paw Paw. I started following your wine recipe three years ago now and it can't be beat. I just got finished making my latest batch witch will be ready for the Christmas period, as usual it will be enjoyed by family and friends. They all reckon it's bloody good stuff 😁 Thanks again Paw Paw. All the best wishes from the UK.
@@DoingItCheap Ok! It's on! 2 1/2 quarts each Concord Grape, and White Grape/ Cherry, and 1 1/2 quarts of Apple. Thanks again, first part down! I'll check back in , in a month sir. 😎
I appreciate you and the channel.. Thank you for the clarification about this not being a distillation process.. Some people need their hand held, even for the simplistic actions these days.. Everyone at my table will raise a glass of wine, to you..
Been very busy and haven't seen any videos in a while. Just popped in to see what PawPaw has been up to and I always love to see a wine video. Just started one a couple of days ago. Please don't make this your last wine videos. We love them. If you want to try something a bit different then swap the sugar for honey or agave nectar (which is what I did). Maybe add some raisins to the mix too. Anyway, whatever you do keep them coming. Happy New Year.
Thank you Paw Paw! You taught me right. My first batch of cranberry pineapple, Concord grape and apple. Man it all turned out great. I used mulling spices for the apple and made it a spice wine! It is fantastic! Great job brother. Bless you. Potent as all hell!
Hey Paw Paw !!!.... I JUST wanted to let you know that...This METHOD WORKS SOOO GOOD ! I MADE SOME RED GRAPE AND I'M ACTUALLY DRINKING IT NOW AND IT IS SO VERY GOOD... Recently tried using pineapple juice To anyone wanting to try it, leave a LOT OF HEAD SPACE because when it starts, it REALLY FOAMS! I had to leave it in the kitchen sink over night and clean up all the mess especially around the cap to make sure it could breathe. After that it settled down. Looking forward to trying it.
If u want to use fruit, freeze it first to break down the cell walls to give the yeast access to the sugars in the cells. The sugars are all that ferments. Know that you will need to rack the wine to get the solids out of your wine. Good video .
