One of the things Chris has proven to me beyond doubt with this chapter is that model of D6 shoves debris the best of any I've witnessed. I believe it is best to just leave the rake on that unit as Chris has. I predict a cover for all this 'stuff' is in the works, I can sense the wheels turning. Thanx
"The horse yard cleanup is really going great! Although there is still a lot of work to be done, the noticeable progress shows great effort and skill. It is definitely a job that requires strength and patience, but the end result will be well worth it!"
I'm not sure I care what today's ecologists say, it never gets old watching you clear trees this way. I can't help but believe yours is the superior way in the end. It sure soothes a measured mind. It sure doesn't hurt that you apply your perfectionist mind for the task. Thanx a ton for sharing as you do.
When I was in the California Conservation Corps, one of our projects was to go to logging operations, cut and split unwanted trees and branches into firewood for the seniors in our community. the California National Guard would come out to our operation with their 10 Yard dump trucks, we would fill them up and they would dump them at the community center in town, where people would come and get their free wood.
It always makes me smile when you get out the old 220 and D6 together. They work well together to get a lot done without complaining and a high payment 😅. Rain is here, let's get the marshmallows roasted, Chris. And you're sounding a lot better now. I hope you enjoyed your day off for Christmas.
Thanks, Chris, for sharing the continuing saga of this property. Once again, you improve anything you touch with your equipment. I remember when you filled in the end of the field to raise the level up. I also appreciate your words of warning about how deadly operating heavy equipment can be. You make it look so easy and simple when it's anything but. Your operational and situational awareness is phenomenal. Thank you, again, Chris. I hope Christmas was wonderful for you.
37:08 to 39:30... You really have to appreciate your knowledge and conservation of trees in general..always looking to better a plot of land and not just knocking down trees... Thanks for sharing 👍.
I appreciate you explaining that sometimes it’s just not economical to try to save those trees I’m convinced that you know what you’re doing so just keep on doing what you doing.
I am certainly confident, that the folks you work for, like to &/get to actually see how hard/smart you work, when they can watch videos of what they pay you to do. 😇
I enjoy watching you videos Chris. I am truly amazed at your skill and love to watch you create. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and ca’t wait to see you creations next year. 🔥❤
Alike what You make for Work, it is always all 100 % Perfect. Prepare the Planing make You first Class, and have always a Plan B for all what can make a Problem. You come not in Time trouble. Your Videos always Interesting. Thanks for this Time.
wow, how time has flown by, i remember you taking down the old house up front and stating the logging deck clean up. you got the new 250 i think. how time flies.
Yeah that D-6 was designed to push big brush piles get'er in the wood and and let'er eat. Like that field of a thousand stumps you'd make giant piles and push them together and you finally had 2 massive brush piles and you put'er agin one and she put it on top of the other and it was 30 feet tall and she was king of the hill.
In the early 80s I was doing residential construction. In one development they had a company removing the trees. They had machines the had huge nippers in the front. They nipped the trees near the base then skidded them to a giant chipper. The chipper ran on two twin diesels. The chipper would take a while to come up to speed. When they shut it down at lunch time it was still winding down a half hour later. A crane on the chipper would lift the whole tree onto a conveyor which fed it into the chipper. A full grown tree would take a couple of minutes to be chewed up. The chips blew into a closed semi dump trailer. There was at the time a Homesote plant about 50 miles away. The chips were sent there and made into impregnated sheathing. The plant is gone now. It became a blue stone cutting company.
Chris you could extend that exhaust pipe ( even with the roof) on dosers to help with the level of noise but still hear the girl pushing hre weight around.
Will that sucks the 220 won’t do the fancy grab and snap like the 350. Figured a slight speed advantage would help assist with the power difference. Although the root rake size difference might play a factor in this aswell.
To bad you don't have a chip board or plyboard plant that could use some smaller ones. We have monster pines or chip board pines. Two plants and trucks moving both ways. Pine but some chip is hardwood and some ply is 4x4 hardwood.
Looking good Chris. Shame it is too dry to keep a low fire burning the whole time on the job. Save a lot of time if you could burn it as you bring it down instead of stacking up and then waiting for the rain. Life as it is, not how you want it to be.
Did you ever consider extending the exhaust stack on the D6 to keep the soot off of the limb guard? You have a great channel 👍 . My wife and I really look forward to seeing your videos.
Glad to see you sounding better, hope you got everything done on the new haul truck you wanted to,this pasture is coming together, some of the logs you took down were some pretty good size ones, closer and closer it’s taking shape, but like you said.still gonna be some serious work ahead.great work, great video, glad to see Robert and Tyler helping you out, need some extra once in awhile.be safe.👍👍👍😎😎😎
Wish I could post pictures from the storm damage and trying to clean up trees with a 349 and no thumb tree jumped out the pile and threw the windshield
I enjoy your content and respect what you do. However, I'd love to see you find a good operator (like Robert) with a sense of humor for a Letsdig MBTS.
Robert has a full time job and Chris doesn't always have work for two. Robert is good to jump in when he has time. That's why Tim moved on as there wasn't enough seat time for him to get the experience he wanted to get better jobs.
if it was me I would have to call one of those portable saw mills in and have them make me as much lumber as they could for like x amount of money you would have enough lumber to build a decent size horse stable or pole barndomineums for the guys to hangout in
Chris, do you ever see a time in the future where you will not be able to burn any of the trees or brush that you take down on a clearing project such as this one your on now?
Hey, I have a stupid idea. You know what a PITA it is to burn stumps because of the stuck on dirt. Get an old water pump truck and use it to wash the dirt away before burning. There are probably more reasons NOT to do this, but it's my theory, and I'm sticking to it. I know the stumps would burn faster and more complete, but at what cost?

The old D6 still earns her keep. Great machine.

You sound a little better this morning hope you are getting better with the sickness

Nice going, Chris
What a beautiful day. Thank you and have a great day.
I am certainly confident, that the folks you work for, like to &/get to actually see how hard/smart you work, when they can watch videos of what they pay you to do. 😇

Great video. When you start you go after it buddy. Man you can make that equipment scream. Thanks for the ride.
You are so spoiled on the 350. Huge difference and what a blessing to have enough customers so you can justify it. You do a great job, EVERY TIME.
wow, how time has flown by, i remember you taking down the old house up front and stating the logging deck clean up. you got the new 250 i think. how time flies.
Good morning bud hope you feeling a bit better
Looking better and getting closer to the end.
Man that was a nice load of poplar. I’d like to have those logs for my own mill. Very nice sir.
You need to extend the exhaust pipe about a foot on the d6 to cut down on fumes and noise blowing in your face
And lose the comment generator.
Another nice big 🔥
Wish I was closer. I would take those pines, I could put them to good use on my band mill.
Chris, you move them logs like you mean it, really good. 😊😊😊
Wow it's coming along! Great job❤
I sure do love to hear a D6 sing in the woods.
Spoiled by the 350. I guess you need another one of them as well! 😉 I'm sure you would like to. You have amassed a great fleet.

It's been nice in Alabama. Even better but some rain too.
Hi team ,love the d6 and the d7 when they are working, great content as always

I got to operate a Volvo 950E a couple weeks ago Chris very nice machine yes you do miss that power great video thanks
I miss the Christmas video. It gave us a glimpse of your life
Were is the Christmas video ?
Glad I'm not the only one that fought an inordinate amount of time on a little pine tree with a deep Taproot...
Ought a make one humongous burn pile!!
Thanks

I like watching the racking.
THANKS!
I'm glad you're feeling better. It must suck to be sick and self-employed.

Start that pile

Phase 1 coming to a close.
👍👍👍
I was thinking about that u took words out of my mouth karate 🥋 chop i expect you have to be careful could be dangerous anyway its a big clearing job
Naw no need to wait on rain just burn early when dew is on !!
You did the karate chop wrong give Kevin from C&C equipment a call he can teach you the right way when karate chopping stuff😂😂
Kung Fu master!....Break big log, one chop! (to be read in the voice of your favorite Japanese warrior voice)
Rain is coming…. Burn time😁
You talking about breaking up the trees and stuff do you do most of your work by the hour or do you bid the jobs? Just curious enjoy your videos.
if it was me I would have to call one of those portable saw mills in and have them make me as much lumber as they could for like x amount of money you would have enough lumber to build a decent size horse stable or pole barndomineums for the guys to hangout in
Does the trees break easier in the winter since there is less sap?
❤
👏🏻👏🏻
Good morning everyone I hope you all enjoy your day we have a cold day I hope you all enjoy your Christmas with your family ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
🙂
How’s the new truck coming along Chris.
Do you think you will have another big lake this winter
Is there such a slight difference between D-6 & D-7 that you don’t put a rake on the D-7? Or is it weight?
Would you think of doing fire wood ?????
Which cost more changing a forest into a hayfield or a hayfield into a forest
Well just don't mow a hay field for 30 years and it'll look just like this lol.
Chris, do you ever see a time in the future where you will not be able to burn any of the trees or brush that you take down on a clearing project such as this one your on now?
Yeah it's already becoming more restricted
now thats a taproot, the d6 is not elegant or a good ride but she will push whatever is in front of her
Chris can you take your camera out of wide angle lens when walking around? The beginning of this video gave me the Blair witch feeling lol

Why not make some mats out of those larger trees? Cheaper than buying them right?
Some of the comments from the ladies make no sense BUT comments promote the channel so keep it up ladies 😂

I specifically look at the comments made with female sounding user names. I did not see any comments that didn’t make sense.
