Awesome looking truggy, some familiar electronics. Exactly the same servo as the HSP trucks, my 2 HSPs had them as stock. Worked just fine until the internal plastic gearing wore out. Interestingly the esc looks like a recoloured surpass hobby unit, identical instruction sheet too. Looking forward to seeing it running, looks like a beast 💪

They’re a great truggy. I’ve had mine for about three months now still running great had done a few upgrades/mods to it and only one or two breakages but replacement parts are very easy to get. I’d say the engine KV rating would be 2000 because that’s how much mine is, when I purchased it

Thanks Ryan, I have plans to upgrade this one eventually with higher amp ESC and motor, will have to see how it runs stock first, I'm a bit busy with work atm

Great review as usual. Recently got myself a kit version (without electronic). Matched it with 3670 motor, 120A esc and dumborc controller with gyro receiver. It turns out i don't really need the gyro after all because the cobra is pretty good at stability.

umm i have a vrx in bunbury lol had it since 2018 its a awesome vechile very very hard to kill even when full throttle on 3s for 20 plus minutes

They are not bad I just bought one weeks ago the only thing I don't like is the slow servo

The one you linked comes to AU$425 using the discount code. The other listing seems to be the same car but is cheaper and comes to AU$409. The discount code doesn't work on that one but a code (BGAFF10off) from another of your videos is accepted and the price comes down to AU$372 but beware "expected to ship before Jan 3". All prices include shipping and GST with insurance removed.
That's very odd Roger, because at time of filming this video which was only 2days ago the price was well under $400 as I stated and even less with the code I was provided... I will have to check up on this and see what is the go. Cheers for notifying me mate 👍🍻
Roger looking from my Banggood app the prices of the 2 models I can see are actually $352.68AU and also $337.14AU which is even cheaper than the $365 on the webpage on PC from where I got that price for this video. Maybe you chose the wrong warehouse and it made the shipping blow out the price you stated cause its not anywhere near over $400AU bud. Go look at my latest community post now, the 2 listings I see are even cheaper than I stated the other day during filming if $365 AU so it’s no where near $425 mate
Ok I see it now, I had no idea of the higher shipping costs for this one sent to AU, I was just told by my contact at BG the price was X amount $ on promo Black Friday sale for the product only and given a code. It is a large box and has a bit of weight so I guess that’s the postal charge from China to ship!
this thing is selling for $330 new at the moment, the brushless version too, eastern states hobby shop. I'd just spent that much on an upgraded bugsta, damn that's cheap!
i think hobbytech in myaree just sold their last *brushed* bugsta for $320, I know they had one cos I saw it in their shop and now showing no stock. Some people go to great lengths to support their local hobby shop !

No haven't been to Sik hobbies in Rocko but heard of them, and yep I been to the 1/4 scale RC speedway track in Naval base opposite the go kart track

One thing I noticed, is that this comes if centre diff. The Hsp's doesn't. Will that make a difference?

Hi David.. I've owned two of these truggies (both roller versions); I blew up the first one as I went 4s straight away, with a 3665 3500kv motor and a 120amp esc - pulled very hard but all three diffs went down on the 2nd run, so on my next one I went with the same motor but on 3s with a high discharge battery and it's perfect - still pulls very hard, so you'll still be very happy with it on 3s - so yeah, no 4s for this one!

Cheers for the advice Joe, since this is my first try at a VRX racing RC i appreciate the info brother. I have plans to put a high Kv motor in it later on after i run it stock for a while 👍🍻
@@PERTHWESTOZRC You're welcome! When you're ready, up the motor but ensure you buy one with a 5mm shaft 👍
i bought one with aftermarket electrics. it was upgraded from the brushed version. but i agree. no 4s for this one. curb crash broke some of the steering linkage. i havent fixed it. i may just buy a new one. keep the first one for a parts car.
Man these prices are high for a sale , I have seen all 3 cars you mentioned at least 100 dollars cheaper throughout the year, personally I would set your price keep watching your car untill it hits your price because it will at some point...time you dropped on a nitro car mate after all some nitros are cheaper then Lipo cars ....
