So how reliable is Banggood? I ordered a mjx 14301 from AliExpress about a year ago, they gave me bogus shipping information, after about 2 months I was able to get a refund, i said never again.
Ya Ali express is different. Almost like an eBay and you need to be careful who you buy from. Banggood is an actual supplier like Amazon in a sense. Never had an issue except about 3 years ago an order got lost in the mail. It was a $180 RC and tracking info showed it got lost in my city. They refunded it for me. Maybe store credit I can’t remember but it wasn’t their fault. This was before I even had a channel and it was my very first purchase from them so I was nobody to them at the time. Completely legit company.
At $300 this isn’t a budget RC car anymore. With the growing popularity of RC cars every budget car is getting overpriced. It’s a cool truck but I’ll stick with name brand that has parts availability at my local hobby store or easily found online. Great bash video.
Yup all the prices are getting ridiculous I know man! I’m surprised the granite hasn’t gone up yet (I think the rival did or will be). Definitely hear ya on the bigger brands with local parts!
Everything is getting expensive these days, especially here in the UK.! A Traxxas 2wd BL2S Slash is £300.!!! A TRX4 High Trail is almost £600.! An Infraction mega is £300.!! It's getting insulting tbh.!!! Stay safe out there mate & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️ 👍 👍 👍
after watching this video i am not impressed what mjx got us here it just looks like a toy then a hobby toy it doesnt backflip easily center diff is very loose 47mph on 4s batterys are quite a bit more expensive compared to 3s and working on these just forget it even you couldnt remove a screw so i pick arrma granite allday especially for this price i think its better to pick up a ftx carnage its not a basher but quite perfect for beginners
Great review, Evan. I’ve always thought that when the good Chinese brands start building true 1/10 bashers, Traxxas and Arrma are going to have something to worry about. It’s been comical in the past what they’ve been trying to sell as 1/10. With the 10208, we finally have a true 1/10. It looks good and it’s nice to have another option. I have a feeling we’ll be able to get them for a good sale price once they’re on Amazon. For $289 I’d probably pay $50 more and buy an MT10, but I’m glad to see Hypergo venturing into the bigger RC market.
Yup I don’t disagree. Would have liked it to be priced around $260. $278 on Makerfire isn’t too bad though. I know part of the issue is the expense of shipping such a big box overseas. It does have the center diff though! Add that to the granite and it now costs over $100 more. Long term durability will be very telling! Thanks!! 😊
@lyricofwise6894 as far as I know this is a version 1. I’ve heard rumors of the v2 but I know nothing about it or when it would be out. If so, hopefully soon but I imagine it would take time to re-engineer things lol
Not that it breaks the bank but with this price its in the name brand category. I'm a huge fan of the budget R/C bashers for messing around and for the kids. Still a nice offering.
Hi! I'm considering mjx 14210 while waiting for your video. Having RC hs 18321 Hurricane, I'm still wondering whether to buy mjx 14210 or wait for 10208 v2. Having little experience, I should go with the scale one by one? We are waiting for the next shows. Regards!
I have also started with Hurricane / Storm from Hospeed and bought 14210. Now Hospeed feels more like a toy 😁 can't tell which one you should get because 10208 is my Christmas gift, but whichever you choose there's gonna be a lot more fun for sure 😁
By the way, you can already pre-order v2 from official hypergo page. I've ordered it today and I'm hoping to get it in mid October. Just need to force myself not to drive it till Christmas, wish me luck 😁
@@vendettasnares I think I will buy it 14210 for my son and 10208 V2 for myself. 14210 Is it waterproof?I've seen videos of them riding on water. Because today in HS we burned the receiving board it was driving in a puddle.
I like Hyper go cars (I like a bunch of brands) I also find getting parts are 24 hours away most times. They hold up really well (as well as my more expensive cars for the most part) I just got in the hobby June 15 of this year and went hay wire (bought over 40 cars) I’ll post some videos today. I have at least 7 more coming this week. Just ordered the red cat drifter it’s on sale for $350 at Amazon. My first only drifter car.
The lower control arms looks pretty similar to the mt10s. Would you mind compare them to see if they Could be made to fit? Like if this could use the rpm arms or these ones are a än alternative to the stock mt10 arms?
Wouldn’t that part blocking the air infer the hood be good to give a bit of down force and spread the air in both sides of the motor and whatever?!? Which would also help to not blow the shell off?? I donno maybe ?
Hello! I am new to the hobby, only a month in and your videos have helped me greatly in determining what to buy. After one month I am up to 6 cars now, I'm sure you know how quickly you get hooked 😂. I have a question, is the grinding noise coming from the drivetrain normal on brand new cars or is this a sign that the gears don't have enough grease? Any input is appreciated. I just got the H14 BM yesterday and it rolls fine but makes some noise and I'm paranoid.
That's a hard one to answer. It could be something as simple as gear mesh or even the gear pitch. I'm definitely not an expert on the subject but some cars make a grinding sound because for the gearing. I would check your mesh first to see if that helps. Normally people use one sheet of note paper to set mesh on a 48 pitch gear and 2 sheets on larger tooth gears. Hopefully the manual cover that.
Super glad you find the videos helpful! 😊 A true grinding sound would not be good, but a “clacking” sound is normal for a car with metal gears. It really does depend on what the exact noise is lol
@@DerbyCityRC I agree. It really could be other things like a rock stuck between a drive shaft. I actually like the sound of metal gears grinding. The faster you go the better they sound.
@@DerbyCityRC Thanks for responding! I also enjoy the sound of straight cut gears singing, what kinda has me paranoid is I actually have 2 of the H14BMs and my first one, the one I run doesn't have that sound nearly as pronounced, I haven't even ran the second one yet mainly because of being paranoid because there's such a difference in the sound of the two when rolling. I'm probably just overreacting. I also just got the Carbon Omni Terminator and it's silky smooth, love it so far!
I’ve heard that bc complaint a lot, I was actually able to on mine. Maybe mine was a later model and these used less loctite. Or earlier one lol. But ya this one it’s just drowning in loctite.
@@DerbyCityRC I still have the car haven’t fixed it it’s just sitting I broke one part and if I want to replace it I’ll have to replace 3 parts so I gave up on it
I just ordered this from aliexpress. It already shipped and I should have it in less than 2 weeks from order to my house.Aliexpress been real good lately,I ordered about 6-7 things and all came within 2 weeks.I wanted to order from banggoods but they had shipping in mid sept.Ill post mine once it lands
Its nice to see mjx listened to our complaints about the 1/16 hypergo. The steering on this 1/10 is a step up atleast and 5mm is what i put on my 1/16 and the 35kg steering servo. Is more than enough power. What is a let down is the speed for it expected alot better. Tbh
I agree! Yes the speed is good, but it should be able to get close to that with a 3s and not take a 4s. 4s should push us over 60, though that’s a bit insane for a monster truck lol would need to do it in a vacuum chamber with no air lol
@@DerbyCityRC Im running 4s in my 1/16 and I haven't fully opened it up. 3s takes me to 57Mph 4s is of the charts. My 60amp ese blew to hell but it was an animal. I had a 120 that should fit. Also running a co-rally 26th pinion with case mod to fit it in. Im loving the Bluetooth esc tho.
@allthesmolthings that’s awesome lol I haven’t done too many speed projects yet but I have a few in mind now. Will be a fun thing to “trial and error” 😂
My hyper go''s of the past, or immitation ones that were "clip less bodies", on 2 occasions failed. Fingers crossed on this one. They were 1/16, but both snapped below the rear of body where the plastic "hook" gets moved into grabing hold or clipping into position in rear of truck to then rotate the clip from outside to "snap into position".Traxxas aside from the "MAXX" like XRT, they have never failed me....yet. The Maxx body has often popped off on bad jump landings. Still love the MAXX tho. I am grateful you mentioned the "captured nuts" on this car. That is rare and 4 me a selling point imo. Your videos have benefited me over the years. I am grateful 4 that. TY n Happy trails!
This is an excellent review. I was surprised that you didn't destroy more things with the head on crashes into the curb. You mentioned the ride height. You feel it should be higher for jumping. The lower ride height helps the handling. The body held up extremely well. It appears to be a very good truck. I don't think I ever heard the term, flabberjacking before. I like that.
Thanks! Yes the lower stance helps with handle but typically this type of truck doesn’t handle well so it can handle jumps lol. I always try to find the best center point but it slaps way too hard. 😂
Motor: do not go above 212 degrees, because at that temperature the magnets lose magnetism and fly off the shaft. ESC: not above 200 degrees, usually they have their own thermal cutoff. Most motors do not have a thermal cutoff, they will operate no matter how hot they are. If you're not using the imperial measurements, Motor: 100 Celsius ESC: 95 Celsius Hope this helps. You could also have googled the info, it's not hard.
Hey, I've got a hyper go h16bm for my kid and the rear end is like open differential is this normal? If not what part do I need? The upgraded differential? Love the content btw.
If your diff is open then likely it wasn't greased from the factory. Or the grease came out because it's not a sealed diff. You'd have to open up the diff and put some earplugs in there, or possibly very thick fluid: 100,000 weight diff fluid. I think the upgraded diffs still don't have a seal. If you don't have diff fluid or silicone earplugs, just put the thickest grease you can find in the diff. Sometimes they forget to add grease from factory, sometimes the grease comes out from loose screws.
@Boogie_the_cat Yeah, I put a new one in and lots of grease. It had grease, but the pinion got chewed and messed it up. Had to just replace the front as well. Now it's 4x4 again with a new servo 👌
they made it look as if this one makes standing backflips all day. it certainly does not look so stock from the factory. maybe oil in main diff would help but that is kind of setting the expectation too high with their marketing video. I guess its good for the price yet not really as great as they made it out to be. would be interesting if you ever set the oil in the main dif and loose the wheelie bar and set to max punch to test the standing backflips thing. there are only a few rc cars that do it effortlessly as they showed in the marketing video.
Yup the first released video of theirs was way different. Another video I saw of theirs made it look like a slug. The reality is in between. I do have upgrades planned for it to see if it can handle.
Thanks!! Definitely shocks, and arms if I can find some that I can make work! I’m not sure if it can take 2s or not actually. 3s and 70% switch on the transmitter will slow it down a bit if you need to. Probably would still be around 25 mph though.
You might currently have the V1 version of the MJX 10208. MJX is now in the final stages of optimizing the V2 version, which includes significant improvements to the body structure, suspension system, and tires to address feedback from users. Therefore, the version that will officially go on sale is the upgraded V2 version, which will enhance overall performance and user experience.
The terminator is an overall better truck as far as engineering and build quality. It has its flaws like the diff cups, but it’s just so good. This one has the size, speed, and power, but overall I think I’d go with the terminator.
I give it a few weeks and it'll become a project car. Or stripped for parts for a different project. 😂 that said, those beefy cvd's... do the fit the hbx 2996a?
It does look pretty decent.!! 👍 👍 👍 £224 for the 3S no lipo version, £260 for a 3S lipo & USB charger version up to £294 for the 4S version with a 4S, 5000mah lipo & a GT power GT4 50 watt charger here in the UK.... when we eventually get it.! 😉 That's honestly a very good deal.! The GT charger & lipo alone would cost around £60.! We also have a couple of official dealers in the UK so spares aren't much of a problem.! Other than parts availability, I think I would take that any day over my Arrma 3s big rock. A lot of really cool features and I doubt the reliability will be any worse than what I have experienced with my big rock!
@@TheflyingkiwiRC I swear they make their input gears out of cheese! Mine is constantly breaking down…. It is infuriating how many problems I have had.
@@BriansRCStuff I gave up on them. I have owned every Arrma 3s except the Granite and all went the same way. Constant diff issues, shocks and driveshafts breaking. ESCs failing, motors failing. I did bash hard and happy to fix normal wear and tear breakages but this was constant. My buddy couldn't get through a battery pack without his 3s Typhon breaking. Now that 6s Arrma Typhon is the complete opposite. I run mine on 4s and it very seldom breaks and parts don't wear out as quickly. That's an Arrma I can recommend.
I havent had all these issues with my 3s Arrmas but I’ve heard stories from other people lol. This is definitely a good entry and parts support hasn’t been a big issue for mjx as far as I know.
I wish Rlaarlo would do that for the esc it gets old being locked out of programming I never noticed the hard braking issue on the Omni Terminator until I swapped remotes. I am noticing these makers are trying to see how far the can push the price and still sell these at 100-150 yes as they get 200 plus that makes it hard to choose these at least for me anyways, cool vid as usual
I'm just more surprised the body didn't pop off as much as I thought it would be. The price isn't bad imo since I already got 3s and 4s batteries lying around. The only concern would be the parts availability, but I'm sure they'd be available soon enough. I'd definitely get this 👌
how is parts support for these brands? the Granite is only 30 dollars more and i know for a fact i can get parts for that locally, as well as plenty of places online.
Definitely not as good as there’s no local shop that carries them (except a few in the UK, and I’m starting to see interest of more options in the states), but as of now, MJX parts will be online only otherwise.
@@DerbyCityRC thanks man! i already have a Talion but am looking at getting a couple of short course trucks for my son and i. looks like i'll stick with Arrma!
So the center diff allows power to bleed away from one axle (front or rear) to the other. If there’s very thin fluid in the center diff, it can bleed very easily. Thicker fluid will make it harder for the gears to spin, making it more difficult to bleed power to the other axle. So when the car wheelies, all the weight is on the rear wheels, making power bleed to the fronts, causing the car to loose speed and make the front wheels spin much faster than the rears are. Thicker fluid makes that more difficult so more power to the rear wheels and less excessive speed to the front. Hope that makes sense.
No idea. As far as I know, a real v2 hasn’t been released. I think they may have improved the body latch as it works much better than I saw in a previous mjx video. From what I’ve heard, they’re gonna use these reviews to make improvements for a v2, but that would take some time.
I think I messed up man. I ordered the 3S Lipo for my hyper 1/14 scale and through some paddle tires on it. after a couple of runs, it turned into a front wheel drive. I'm assuming I trashed the rear Differential. It's a manually turn a rear wheel. The other one does not turn like it used to any advice would be really helpful used to be pretty good at fixing these things but it's been years. I feel like a noob again. Please help.
Oh no! So for one, the diffs on the 1/16 scales are a weak point, unless they started putting the upgraded ones in which I’m not sure. But it’s also possible you just busted a while pin or axle pin. Make sure the full axle spins along with the wheel. Typically when you blow a diff it will give you warning signs or make a terrible noise. Hopefully that helps, let me know what you find!
@@DerbyCityRC just got done taking the rear differential apart one of the small gears inside is trashed. Is it hard to find a new rear diff for these cars? Or do you just order the little gears that are inside the diff appreciate your help on this. Trying hard to get back into this hobby.
Noticing a lot of people mentioning that at $300usd it isn't quite worth buying anymore, and that they would rather pay a little extra to go with a bigger brand. However just to mention for any international viewers who are located near or in China, they are selling this car on Taobao for around $1100 rmb, or ~$150usd, which I would assume is a much better deal. Does make me wonder why the price difference between China and overseas is so big however... I don't think shipping would costs almost double the cost of the car.
Yes definitely the biggest complaint. I’m not sure about the shipping, but I do know that I’ve sent three raffall winner cars to different countries and each time it was $200 or more to ship. Bulk shipping would be less though so I have no idea what it works out to. Good information for sure!
In overall quality, the Rlaarlo is better made and probably uses better materials. Drives and jumps nicer too. The only real downside about the car itself is it’s a bit closer to 1/12 scale and it’s a good bit slower. But atleast they offer a roller version if you want to put your own motor combo in it. More customer service complaints about rlaarlo too. Supposedly there are revisions in the next few weeks to months on this car, but for now, I think I’d choose the rlaarlo.
I have to say the #12 solid conductors used to make your battery adaptor is probably fine but it just seams strange. 12 gage is rated for 20 amps but it will take quite a bit more. I think at about 50 amps of continuous load it starts to fail. Insulation melts and copper turns red. The hood scoop probably brought in enough air so keep the cable for heating up. ha ha I think for this application your safe. Nice job on this video as always.
Haha, strange indeed, but I was crunched for time and that’s what I had 😂 it definitely worked for my one run. I meant to order some actual adapters but forgot 😳
@@DerbyCityRC You did great. Soldering might have taken more heat but I really don't know. As a retired electrician I just never really liked solid. It brings back bad memories of residential construction work. For this application it's fine. I think the perfect adaptor would not even use wire at all but rather join the 2 connectors with small coper bars with gold plating. lol
As far as I know, yes but Lithium ions don’t have as much punch to them. Also not sure if you can even get them big enough for a larger car like this one. Only Time I ever see them is with some of the cheaper cars.
You’re welcome and thanks for watching them! The Q117 is excellent! Thanks for joining and for the awesome comment! My son Max you see in a lot of videos is also 7!
I love my Tundra! Really need to replace my timing belt as it’s the original with 190,000+ miles, but it’s definitely one of the best trucks ever made! Mine also an ‘05, were you able to tell?
Both my daughter's run the smaller mjx rigs and they are ridiculousy durable for there price . This thing after the kurb looks to be built with the same stuff.i wouldent hesitate to buy one Great vid cant wate to see what you do with it .👍
Please advise what to buy? Sorry to bother you. But this will be my first RC car. I can’t decide on this. Before this, I only bought 12428 WlToys for my daughter :) And now I want to buy one for myself... ZD DBX 10 Brushless for 180 euro Rlaarlo AM D-12 brushless for 170 euro HPI jumpshot 2WD brushless for 250 euro WlToys 124016 V2 brushless for 125 euro Maverick Quantum XT Flux 1/10 4WD brushless for 210 euro Maverick Quantum RX FLUX 1/8 4WD brushless for 250 euro WlToys 104072 brushless for 170 euro MJX 10208 brushless for 210 euro P.S. More than 200 euros is a bit expensive for me. But if the car is really worth it, it’s much better than those that are cheaper, then I can and will fork out for it! Plus I have some 2S batteries. And if you need more than 2S, you will also have to buy batteries...
The Maverick Quantum flux 2 seems to get good reviews. I don’t have one yet, but out of that whole list, I would fork up the extra for the 10208. It’s the biggest of those and so far seems to be extremely durable. Then could always get Arrma granite shocks as an upgrade later on. But yes you will need a 3s battery. Here’s a decent one for a good price: amzn.to/3YvxL0U
@@DerbyCityRC Thanks for your reply. You are one of the few TH-camrs who respond to their subscribers. That's why I consider you one of the best RC car reviewers!
Chassis on that thing seems pretty decent! When you slammed that curb I though for sure you broke a bunch of stuff. Very surprised it diddnt! Great work!
Can’t believe I was able to fix a curb hit like that in the field. It could have dragged through and finished my jump with the crashed parts if I had to I bet lol
It probably is. Just had a new video drop 4 minutes ago showing how it can be improved pretty easily. Supposedly there will even be upgrades over this model if you buy it. Also supposedly, there will be an even newer version in a few months. All this is speculation as there has been much confusion over this car. $160 ish sounds like a pretty awesome deal if it’s legit.
Thanks!! Well they did fly off the shelves 😂 MJX seems to have taken them until they upgrade to the V2. We will see what happens but it’s a very good start. Hopefully they can get this sorted out quickly and accurately.
I’m pretty sure they ship to Europe from here: shop.makerfire.com/collections/new-arrival/products/mjx-hyper-go-10208-rc-truck?aff=572 💰Discount code: DerbyCityRC
It's cool but idk man at that price I'm going with arrma 3s line all day or better yet a used 6s on FB market... If they can get this car at 150$ I might check out
Those Upgrade RC tires rock. Never had one come unglued. AMain Hobbies offers easy replacement for any issues. Grips for days, deep tread. Lasted longer than 2 sets of Arrma Dboots tires.
I’m curious if this already has an updated body latch..one of the videos I saw from mjx previously, the body popped off like every other jump. All I know is mjx is looking for suggestions on the next version but no idea when that would be. They’re gonna see this video, but I’m gonna talk with them directly as well.
Got yourself a new sub. 😎 Very fast paced video, almost to the point where I was tempted to play it at half speed just to keep up with what was going on. LoL. Maybe I'm just getting too old... But it was well put together, so well done. I just got mine today and so far I'm impressed with what I see. Does have a bit of play in the steering as you pointed out and their plastics are a bit soft, but it's a basher MT, its not like anyone will hit the track with this thing. You're more likely to hit the curb than a track, am I right? 😜 I think some thicker oil in the diff, maybe some hub extenders to add another 5-10mm each side and some better tyres (with more rotational mass) will help this beast. The suspension travel is a tough one to fix, but without the arms getting longer, I'm not sure longer shocks will make much difference. MJX did say they wanted feedback, so the best we can do is pass it on and hope they address it. 🙂
Hey thanks dude! Yup gotta watch out for those curbs 🤣 I absolutely agree longer arms along with the longer shocks. I’ve sent MJX a good list of needed improvements so hopefully we will get them on this supposed next version! BTW that H8H looks sweet!!
@DerbyCityRC just a cheap one off AliExpress, I was finding it hard to get an AU plug. And I hate the cheap adaptors they send out. Had a bad experience a few years back when one melted down and almost caught on fire. Problem is I bought the batteries from a different store than I got the car. Now the car will turn up about 3 weeks before the batteries 🤣... does the 10208 run on 2's at all?
I would agree for now, minus the bigger size makes it a bit more stable. I did another video with longer shocks and better tires, but still needs to be wider. Hopefully their version two will have this, whenever it comes out.
@@DerbyCityRC Yeah, defintely agree. I also put some "street tires" on the 209 which make it a bit wider and flatter and it's glued to the streets. But yeah, defintely looking forward to more versions and updates! Keep up the good content! PS: I think I got the idea with the red writing 210 tires from your video. 👍🏼
Idk if you'll see this but great video! I'm more of a budget guy and although the Laegendary Thunder is not a basher, it could be with a few upgrades. I'd love to see a video of you taking one through the ringer like you do all of yours, just to see what it can or could do. Thanks man!! Oh and its on sale for $112 right now! 🤯
The three things you said , oh and the steering are in some email from MJX… so they are already fixing that sh!t now before they send out anymore. So that second one you bought will be a V1 collectors edition one day
I don’t think they mentioned anything about the steering to me. Not sure about the one I bought. It has yet to ship lol. It was supposed to ship on the 16th and now the website says the 30th. Literally no idea. Maybe I’ll get the v2 and maybe it won’t show up for 6 months!
I’m gonna try to get the quantum2 soon, but man not haven’t a center diff on a somewhat bigger car kinda hurts. I feel that will be the main thing I don’t like (and the looks lol)
@DerbyCityRC yeah the no center diff does suck. I can't believe you don't like the looks though! I need the green one just for those ugly green wheels lol those are the wheels I wanted for my omni but I settled for the green 4x4 rustler wheels.
That pathway to heaven jump was the loudest chassis slap in human history. Call Guinness book of world records. Pretty sure the passengers in that plane heard that 😂 crunchy as you say😂. Man this one looks good. Seems like a little more spice than the terminator that you placed in the background 🤔 ima get them both but I think this Mjx gotta come first. 👍✌🏼
It was sooo loud 😂 I originally mentioned the terminator early in the video but it didn’t make the cut so it just seems randomly placed lol. Dont get this one just yet, wait until we atleast have info on the version 2. It’s possible it’s already “on the way” to the suppliers, and it’s possible it hasn’t even been developed yet.
It's a little pricy(to be called budget) but the features out the box 4S capability, and that MJX durability still makes it a worthy purchase in my opinion(the price is about right all things considered). I myself have a decent fleet including several MJX's, Hosim's, Arrma's, Redcat's, HBX's, etc.... Although you can get the same speed with a Granite 3S, the MJX is still a good buy and probably one of the rare 4S, 10 scale offerings on the market at this price range. That MJX motor is huge!😁They definitely need to bring the improved version 2 out soon. Also this should force a major price drop on the Hosim Venom.
Ya I didn’t really mean the car was budget, just mjx as a brand. Yup it’s faster than the WOV racing vehicles on 4s! Definitely hoping for future improvements!!

Banggood is an actual supplier like Amazon in a sense. after watching this video i am not impressed what mjx got us here it just looks like a toy
then a hobby toy
it doesnt backflip easily center diff is very loose 47mph on 4s batterys are quite a bit more expensive compared to 3s
and working on these just forget it even you couldnt remove a screw
so i pick arrma granite allday
especially for this price i think its better to pick up a ftx carnage
its not a basher but quite perfect for beginners
Inflation blows
Bluetooth to an app on your phone to adjust the ESC is pretty sweet. The big brands should follow suit.
Hopefully this will push the bar up higher!
Yes! It was so simple! I agree!
Hope so!
Most every company has similar, like traxxas tqi Link.
@johnjacob8919 are they the only ones? Haven’t seen it anywhere else.
Thanks! Yup I’m hoping they lower the price a bit, cuz I would also go for the MT10. Yes it’s all about the options!
At this price it just seems like a better idea to spend alittle more and get a granite. Great video!
Or an mt10
Yup I don’t disagree. Would have liked it to be priced around $260. $278 on Makerfire isn’t too bad though. I know part of the issue is the expense of shipping such a big box overseas. It does have the center diff though! Add that to the granite and it now costs over $100 more. Long term durability will be very telling!
Thanks!! 😊
Definitely a good one!
@@DerbyCityRC is this the version 1, I heard that theyre releasing version 2 in response solely to rc reviewers, or something like that
@lyricofwise6894 as far as I know this is a version 1. I’ve heard rumors of the v2 but I know nothing about it or when it would be out. If so, hopefully soon but I imagine it would take time to re-engineer things lol
You're one of my favourite TH-cam uploaders. You always make me smile.
Big respect here from the 🇬🇧
So happy to hear that, thanks man!!
Not that it breaks the bank but with this price its in the name brand category. I'm a huge fan of the budget R/C bashers for messing around and for the kids. Still a nice offering.
Yup it creeped up there lol. Just another option. Hoping the price drops a little bit.
Hi! I'm considering mjx 14210 while waiting for your video. Having RC hs 18321 Hurricane, I'm still wondering whether to buy mjx 14210 or wait for 10208 v2. Having little experience, I should go with the scale one by one? We are waiting for the next shows. Regards!
I like the v1 10208 more than the 14210. Hopefully the v2 will be even better
@vendettasnares 🤞🤞🤞🤘🤘
@@vendettasnares I think I will buy it 14210 for my son and 10208 V2 for myself. 14210 Is it waterproof?I've seen videos of them riding on water. Because today in HS we burned the receiving board it was driving in a puddle.
Great video Derby City! My mom just passed away last night but she loved watching your videos. Thanks for that. This truck is amazing
Thanks! I know man..sorry..I’m glad I was able to help bring her some joy even not knowing her. Thanks dude and take some time for yourself!
I’m going to try some stuff like this soon! 😃
Fastest 20 minutes of my life. Great review as always, thank you for all the interesting info man
You’re super welcome!
4:14 does this mean it can be replaced by an ELRS rx from radiomaster?
Wouldn’t that part blocking the air infer the hood be good to give a bit of down force and spread the air in both sides of the motor and whatever?!? Which would also help to not blow the shell off?? I donno maybe ?
That would be cool but no it won’t work like that unfortunately.
Cheers for working overtime to get this one posted dude, awesome review! Will be entering the raffal for sure ✌️
Thanks man! 😃
I do too!
They same thing happened to my mjx the 1/14 truggy I broke a shock tower and couldn’t get the chassis brace off
I’ve heard that bc complaint a lot, I was actually able to on mine.
@allthesmolthings that’s awesome lol
I haven’t done too many speed projects yet but I have a few in mind now.
Yup my 1/16 HyperGo clipless failed too, this one so far definitely seems better.
Thanks I’m glad you’ve been following for so long! 😄😊
That connector is a true work of art my friend. Whatever works, and that worked
Thanks! Worked good enough that I still have it 😅
Will the tires from the 10th scale hypergo fit on the 14bm?
This is an excellent review. I was surprised that you didn't destroy more things with the head on crashes into the curb. You mentioned the ride height. You feel it should be higher for jumping. The lower ride height helps the handling. The body held up extremely well. It appears to be a very good truck. I don't think I ever heard the term, flabberjacking before. I like that.
Thanks! Yes the lower stance helps with handle but typically this type of truck doesn’t handle well so it can handle jumps lol. I always try to find the best center point but it slaps way too hard. 😂
What is a safe operating temperature for the motor and battery?
Motor: do not go above 212 degrees, because at that temperature the magnets lose magnetism and fly off the shaft.
ESC: not above 200 degrees, usually they have their own thermal cutoff.
Most motors do not have a thermal cutoff, they will operate no matter how hot they are.
If you're not using the imperial measurements,
Motor: 100 Celsius
ESC: 95 Celsius
Hope this helps. You could also have googled the info, it's not hard.
Do you prefer the hyper go 1/16 or 1/14 scale? Are there any parts compatibility between the two?
Both have their issues, mainly with handling, but I think I prefer the 1/14. Been a while since I’ve had a 1/16 HyperGo to drive though.
One question: Can this rc be ran without the bluetooth app? I might consider this as a xmas present... but i am not sure.
Also: Would the a arm rock guard from the RIval MT10 work with this truck?
they made it look as if this one makes standing backflips all day. it certainly does not look so stock from the factory. maybe oil in main diff would help but that is kind of setting the expectation too high with their marketing video.
I just learned that you can gear up this car. From 12T to 15T using different motor mount holes! It could mean 25% more top speed :)
Good to know!!!
Nice vid! Thanks! Are you gonna Frankenstein it at some point to extend arms/shocks? Can it run on 2S as well? Or only 3S-4S?
Great to know!! Thanks!!
In your opinion, which is a better choice, this or the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator?
The terminator is an overall better truck as far as engineering and build quality. It has its flaws like the diff cups, but it’s just so good. This one has the size, speed, and power, but overall I think I’d go with the terminator.
@@DerbyCityRC thanks. That's the one I'm going to go with then.
@beller2271 you’re welcome! Especially since you can get it on Amazon now
I give it a few weeks and it'll become a project car. Or stripped for parts for a different project. 😂 that said, those beefy cvd's... do the fit the hbx 2996a?
Definitely will be a project car 😃
No they have much bigger wheel stubs 😢
Well I say that, but I’ll double check!
@DerbyCityRC was worth a shot, those things are chunky!

£224 for the 3S no lipo version, £260 for a 3S lipo & USB charger version up to £294 for the 4S version with a 4S, 5000mah lipo & a GT power GT4 50 watt charger here in the UK.... when we eventually get it.! 😉
That's honestly a very good deal.!

@@DerbyCityRC They seem friendly when I spoke to them so far!
Other than parts availability, I think I would take that any day over my Arrma 3s big rock.
A lot of really cool features and I doubt the reliability will be any worse than what I have experienced with my big rock!
I can guarantee these will last longer than an Arrma 3s. No cheese drivetrain for a start.
Parts availability shouldn’t be bad. Available around various websites. Definitely a decent entry!
Ya they’re slowly raising prices, I see it too. I guess it’s like anything else.. definitely hear ya on that!!
Thanks!!
I'm just more surprised the body didn't pop off as much as I thought it would be. The price isn't bad imo since I already got 3s and 4s batteries lying around. The only concern would be the parts availability, but I'm sure they'd be available soon enough. I'd definitely get this 👌
What brand of ramp is that?
It’s from: www.kc-rc.com/
how is parts support for these brands? the Granite is only 30 dollars more and i know for a fact i can get parts for that locally, as well as plenty of places online.
@thegrafxguy1 I don’t blame you! I love my Mojave 4s!!
How does thicker diff fluid help?
So the center diff allows power to bleed away from one axle (front or rear) to the other. If there’s very thin fluid in the center diff, it can bleed very easily. Thicker fluid will make it harder for the gears to spin, making it more difficult to bleed power to the other axle. So when the car wheelies, all the weight is on the rear wheels, making power bleed to the fronts, causing the car to loose speed and make the front wheels spin much faster than the rears are. Thicker fluid makes that more difficult so more power to the rear wheels and less excessive speed to the front. Hope that makes sense.
Considering the high speed curb shots I would say it's a pretty durable rig. Being in the $300 range; it's facing some stiff competition.
These are two things I agree with!
I’m hoping MJX will start making the shell of HBM16. If they do, I’ll definitely pick one up.
Is this the V2? Cause I ordered the Version 2
No idea. As far as I know, a real v2 hasn’t been released. I think they may have improved the body latch as it works much better than I saw in a previous mjx video. From what I’ve heard, they’re gonna use these reviews to make improvements for a v2, but that would take some time.
@@DerbyCityRC I ordered the improved version from makerfire. I talked to customer support and they confirmed it maybe mid july or end of july.
Good to know!
It's actually a 1/16 scale. If that makes a difference.
Can you recommend a replacement part for it? I've seen quite a few on Amazon. Wasn't sure if one would be better than the other.
This is it right here and it’s a stronger metal than the original (unless they changed them on the last 2 years which is possible). amzn.to/3VJefLF
I hope they ll build a 1/10 buggy, or maybe it is possible to rebuild this monster into a buggy?
Also a drift car would be cool! I’d say with the suspension already being low, new tires and finding a body to fit, you’re about there lol
How does it compare to the Rlaarlo 1/10?
I think the perfect adaptor would not even use wire at all but rather join the 2 connectors with small coper bars with gold plating. lol
@RCRoads lol thanks. This was actually one of my cleanest solder jobs since my auto tech days lol. Yes the best adapter is direct connection!
I have something to ask can you fun a car thats made to run on 2s'3's or 4s batteries off of a Lithium ion battery??

Please advise what to buy? Sorry to bother you. But this will be my first RC car. I can’t decide on this. Before this, I only bought 12428 WlToys for my daughter :) And now I want to buy one for myself...
ZD DBX 10 Brushless for 180 euro
Rlaarlo AM D-12 brushless for 170 euro
HPI jumpshot 2WD brushless for 250 euro
WlToys 124016 V2 brushless for 125 euro
Maverick Quantum XT Flux 1/10 4WD brushless for 210 euro
Maverick Quantum RX FLUX 1/8 4WD brushless for 250 euro
WlToys 104072 brushless for 170 euro
MJX 10208 brushless for 210 euro

Thanks!! Well they did fly off the shelves 😂 MJX seems to have taken them until they upgrade to the V2. We will see what happens but it’s a very good start. Hopefully they can get this sorted out quickly and accurately.
The Sound on 4s! The Wheelies on 4s! OMG! This truck is a buy!
I know those high speed sounds were epic!!
Best review on the 10208 👍🏻😃
Thanks! 😊
Going rate for these are now about 160usd - which makes it insanely good value imo 🤗
Did you get from Ali Express? Yup that’s an incredible deal for sure!!!
@@DerbyCityRC yep, aliexpress indeed. 4 weeks to deliver to DK - very much worth the wait 🤙
How to get it for europe?
I’m pretty sure they ship to Europe from here: shop.makerfire.com/collections/new-arrival/products/mjx-hyper-go-10208-rc-truck?aff=572
💰Discount code: DerbyCityRC
It's cool but idk man at that price I'm going with arrma 3s line all day or better yet a used 6s on FB market... If they can get this car at 150$ I might check out
Banggood has it listed for $250. Hopefully it stays there, it’s worth that, but ya I definitely hear ya on not spending too much more for better!
Pretty cool new 1/10th scale! Looks very durable! Very cool video!
Not bad!! Thanks Brad!!
Almost half price of the Granite... seems like a good deal.
Thanks for the vid 🤙
They just lowered the price on the US to get us closer to that I think. Definitely seems like an even better deal outside the US. Thanks!! 😊
Finally MJX made a 1/10 scale truck
Finally! Just gotta wait for the coming upgrades!
With the raffle, do you ship everywhere? :) I live in Denmark. Love your vids!
Yes I do! Thanks man!
Upgrade RC makes some nice 10th scale tires. I got the Dirt Claws for my Granite, I think that's what they are called.
They might be what I go with! We will see!
Those Upgrade RC tires rock. Never had one come unglued. AMain Hobbies offers easy replacement for any issues.
Grips for days, deep tread. Lasted longer than 2 sets of Arrma Dboots tires.
Rumor has it that MJX is making a V2 of this truck before release to address the body latch and other issues. Can you look into this for us?
I’m curious if this already has an updated body latch..one of the videos I saw from mjx previously, the body popped off like every other jump. All I know is mjx is looking for suggestions on the next version but no idea when that would be. They’re gonna see this video, but I’m gonna talk with them directly as well.
They are I talked to them and my order from Makerfire will be v2 and cost me $258 at the mid or end of july shipping.
This or Omni Terminator carbon?
Got yourself a new sub. 😎
Very fast paced video, almost to the point where I was tempted to play it at half speed just to keep up with what was going on.
I think some thicker oil in the diff, maybe some hub extenders to add another 5-10mm each side and some better tyres (with more rotational mass) will help this beast. The suspension travel is a tough one to fix, but without the arms getting longer, I'm not sure longer shocks will make much difference. MJX did say they wanted feedback, so the best we can do is pass it on and hope they address it. 🙂
Hey thanks dude! Yup gotta watch out for those curbs 🤣
I absolutely agree longer arms along with the longer shocks. I’ve sent MJX a good list of needed improvements so hopefully we will get them on this supposed next version! BTW that H8H looks sweet!!
Arrma 3s are not gr8 plastic diff motor mount weak etc
Some parts better than others for sure. A bit more stiff!
Hey dc I've decided to get one of these. Can you point me in the right direction for just a cheap USB charger not even sure what sort I need 😂
That was supposed to say non USB charger. But I got it sorted anyway.
Sorry I missed this. Which did you get?
@DerbyCityRC just a cheap one off AliExpress, I was finding it hard to get an AU plug. And I hate the cheap adaptors they send out. Had a bad experience a few years back when one melted down and almost caught on fire. Problem is I bought the batteries from a different store than I got the car. Now the car will turn up about 3 weeks before the batteries 🤣... does the 10208 run on 2's at all?
Oh thank you for finally getting that video up... Great job fella 👍🏿
play on the inside wheel doesn't really matter because the weight will be on the outside wheel
This is true 👍
Thank you for that Bob Ross reference….
U got me 😂😂😂!!!!
Haha! Happy accident just came out. Lol
Had to add good old BR!! (rip). Thanks dude!!
It's cool, but it's far from the sweet spot that the other smaller Hyper Go's went into. I think I still stick to my 14209 with bigger tires.
@Darant1no the 209 definitely handles better than the 210! Yes hopefully great updates for the 10208!! Thanks man!!
I would love to win it. You guys got awesome videos, awesome cards. You guys give them hell. I love it.
Thanks!!’ 😊 I want to be a bit shed in them to expose any weak spots!
LMAO the towel and pink rain coat😀
😂😂 the Amazon listing said it was red and the white one I ordered turned out to be dark grey 😂😂 I had to improvise lol
Thanks! I get more requests for the Thunder than anything else ever lol I’ll get one as soon as I can lol 😃 thanks dude!!!
On AliExpress and Amazon for about 180$$$And up
The three things you said , oh and the steering are in some email from MJX… so they are already fixing that sh!t now before they send out anymore.
That things looks like a little tank. I and kind of torn between it and a quantum flux 2 now!
@Nerm78 lol never seen it in person, it just looks sooo….basic? Lol I’d probably go for green too 😆
For you it's better this or the rlaalro rz001g-a
or rz001b-c
I got that just from Amazon the other day. Is a very fast RC car MJX.💯💯😎😎💪🏿💪🏿🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This isn’t on Amazon yet. What model did you get? 😃
Another awesome review Evan ! We’ve been waiting! It looks great I’m impressed. Excellent information and footage. Thank you brother
Thanks! 😃
@@DerbyCityRC that Raffal is taking off quick too!
Not too bad! All depends on where I have to ship it to 😆
That pathway to heaven jump was the loudest chassis slap in human history.
Cool truck though way too slow on 3s. I look forward to seeing you fix it up.
I’ve definitely got some plans for it!
This, or Omni terminator???
The terminator is an overall better truck as far as engineering and build quality. It has its flaws like the diff cups, but it's just so good.
This one has the size, speed, and power, but overall I think I'd go with the terminator.
@@DerbyCityRC thanks for the reply, your vids are awesome, you do an amazing job breaking these rc’s down, and bashing them lol
@savagesantana4343 you’re welcome and thanks man!! 😃
When you give hyper some feedback tell them to offer a clear body for the people that like to paint them 😊
I will 😄
Very cool
I appreciate that man
No problem!
Do you recommend this Car.😊And i want to see if some Changes to this Mjx Hyper Go 🙏
