    This turned out absolutely PERFECT! I used double strands of worsted weight yarn and the only issue I had was finding where my stitches changed up. I started using stitch markers which may seem a little redundant but it solved the issue and it was well worth it. I LOVE the way it closes at the top. No awkward wrinkles! Thank you so much for this pattern!

    Forgot to add that your teaching is absolutely perfect!! I’ve crocheted for a lot of years but outside of being taught a couple of stitches, and the fact that I stick to straight lines-I’ve never known names for the stitches, never understood counting and that you can measure-I am smack in the middle of an enormous king-sized blanket and the ends absolutely don’t line up. It’s a good thing I’m only making this mammoth blanket for myself, as I don’t care that’s it is perfectly square or wonky, but i am thrilled to think I could make something besides a flat scarf and a blanket. THANK YOU!!!

      My daughter is 8 months and has a tiny head so I started with 26 chains and then did as many rows as it took to go around her head. My six year old son I did 36 chains and it’s a little to long for him but i just keep it rolled up more I haven’t counted the rows on either hat I just go until it comfortably fits around their head.

    3:41 where you’re talking about the gauge, you say if it isn’t 12”, increase or decrease hook sizes. But is it possible to just adjust the amount of stitches? If I’m using a smaller hook, smaller yarn, just make enough stitches until it’s 12”?

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you’re not getting the recommended 12” than that is your gauge. You can adjust your gauge by going up in hook sizes, using thicker yarn or using yarn strands held together.
      The 34 chains is not meant to go around the head. It runs up and down.
      Thank you for watching.

    I'm trying to crochet this hat left-handed, would I hdc the front loop only instead of the back loop only because I am going in the opposite direction?

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nope, just crochet. It’s the same on both sides.

    Nice tutorial. Very simple instructions to follow. I will be making this for my grand daughter. I also like the pom pom. Where did you get the piece to hold it onto the hat.

    What’s the brand name of the yarn you’re using in this video? The color is beautiful.

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet

      This is charisma charisme yarn by loops and threads I think this is blush pink but I lost the wrapper. I also feel like they might have changed the color a bit too. But not sure.

    Not sure what I’m doing but why am I having such big holes when crocheting the hat I’m using 5 ply yarn with 6.5 hook any advice what I can do to fix it or is it all normal and that’s the look of the pattern thank you

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can try going slower and pulling the stitches tighter. Or you can go down a hook size and see how that works for you.
      You may have to chain more to get the correct number on the tape measure. Thanks for watching!

    Great tutorial! I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but it gets longer every row, it went from 12 to 16 inches

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You’re increasing (2 or more stitches into one stitch) someplace or multiple places.
      Be sure to go slow and watch how many stitches you are placing into each stitch.
