Whew, that is one beautiful looking neck. And like you said, for a Squier, you don't need to go overboard. OTOH, if you happened to get an exceptional stock body on the Squier, no reason you couldn't systematically turn it into a monster high-end partscaster! Nice video my man. You come across as a very likeable, just plain NICE guy. Living your best life!
It's got those stainless frets with hemispherical ends that quite a few Chinese companies have been getting into lately. it makes the fret ends feel much smoother and prevents them from poking out the ends if the wood were to shrink a little over time. They round out the ends of the frets before they install them so they might be a mil short, but it shouldn't affect playability much if at all.
Super glad you made this vid. I was looking at this for guitar body im making that has a tele neck pocket and very close to ordering. I'm with you on the glossiness. Its a bit much. satin or even a light gloss would make this 10x nicer. Overall I think you sold it for me.
Hi Euge it looks good, my neck looked great also from Amazon but it needed new frets, the neck was bent, threw it in the bin in the end a waste of £65 UK I refuse to buy Chinese anymore

When you know absolutely nothing about wood and think it's more likely that there are two different types of wood than just a random color variation...in a piece of wood whose whole selling point is the color variation. FFS. Lol
@ihateeuge different variations in a single piece of wood(curl, knots, spalting, etc) can cause drastic differences in color. Even when stained or heat treated. It could also be dependent on whether the necks are roasted before or after shaping/how long they're roasted/how deep the roasting penetrates... Or if some material was removed from that specific spot after heat treating. In bow making, we heat treat woods regularly, and there are many factors that dictate how the final product looks aesthetically. It's not rocket science, but it does require a marginal amount of thought and reason. Lol
@@CloudfeatherRusticWorksor what's more likely, it's a different color because it is a different material. Wood filler used to fill in a poor route on a $50 neck from China. Sure color variation is possible but for it to be that drastic, in almost a perfect shape, and in an area that has been machined...come on 😂

Does look nice. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

That's good news. I had never seen those before so I was a little worried about that.

great to see you back
haha thanks! I should have more coming next week too!
How’s the neck holding up still stable ? Was looking at a pango neck and saw your video.
@@kennethmeeker6369 I actually got rid of it a while ago 😓😓😓
I believe the 22 fret necks with the maple slap fretboard may be more stable than the 1-piece 21 fret ones.
Why?
Please post a link for the neck!
Better check the scale- they install the nut in the wrong spot a lot and be prepared to do a ton of fret work

Why didn't you just request a replacement? There are too many great outcomes with these cheap necks. You've got to expect the occasional dud.
This video was fantastic except for the Lakers shirt which upset me greatly.
All jokes aside, good stuff. Cheers.
Haha thanks
Ive just seing that one!!
Im gonna buy It
how did this hold up?
Did it stand the trial of time?
No it did not. I would NOT recommend them
@@ihateeuge make a video about it

That's my bad. I thought I posted it in the description : a.co/d/3UqZz2T
Why those Chinese necks have frets so deep into the wood?
i doubt it's roasted, maybe half roasted but looks like it's stained to me.
I was definitely thinking that as well. I got rid of it so we'll never know but I was very suspicious of it

You're right. It makes sense for the entire neck to be roasted except for a small part by the skunk stripe. Because that's how the process works 🙄
