Tho' shall overcome! Unlike Doctor church, who built a steam coach in the 19th century. It was ornately decorated with plaster of Paris and carried top-hatted dignitaries. The streets were lined with onlookers until the boiler exploded, showering everyone with scrap iron and scalding steam. Two inquisitive small boys were blown sky high. And that's how the idea of the safety valve came about. Even that didn't work initially, so they made boilers out of thinner metal to lessen the effects of an explosion. But, they persevered, and got steam power down to a fine art. That is until a flywheel came off a traction engine running at full chat😮. Upwards and onwards, my friend.
Mike, I mentioned this before but you may have missed it. Steelman Chassis Ears, (other brands are available.) I comes with six microphones that clip on around the vehicle, they all go into a box with a selector and headphones. Within an hour you will have narrowed the squeak down to a few inches.
They are standard m16 bolts and not fine thread. I have the tap at work I used but can't remember the thread pitch. I'll find out for sure on Monday if no one else comes up with the answer.
@@ralphdadge302Ahh! There goes captain obviouses totally obvious suggestion. The rings on mine are a life saver. You can haul it out with the tractor and use them to tie down onto a trailer bed without touching your break lines or tires etc.
4 top one 12mm 1.75 pitch , 2 bottom 16mm 2mm pitch , this is metric Coarse Standard. from my 90 galv chassis with TD5 style tub adjustments. but why not lift it on the diff with a floor jack or even the landrover jack? Anyhow good luck I know it is very frustrating but for all us watching , it is very exciting.
Hi Mike, the M10s are 1.5mm pitch and the M16s are 2mm. Not long fitted a receiver to my TD5 and had to replace some of the bolts.

I have a 1.5 mm pitch tap - but just reluctant to use it if they are 1.0 mm - bugger the threads and then what?
Do Civi Defender's not have Jate Rings down under the chassis you can strap onto, to haul it out the garage with?
No but they can be retrofitted, I have a set of 4 JSTE rings on my 1989 110CSW on a Marsland Galvanised chassis.

Had to tap them out on my Marsland Galv chassis which has TD5 style rear crossmember.

Because I need to move it round my yard safely
Someone may have suggested this but, maybe if you put a heavy blanket over one side or the other you may be able to isolate it to one side maybe?
M12x1.75
M16x2
Thank you!
It’s all metric in the rear crossmember
Yes, but what pitch of thread?
It's the weekend, so pack up and go enjoy a 🍺
You got that right!
They are just standard M16x2 and M12/M10 threads nothing special, mine is galvanised just chucked a tap into it.
Don't stress.
I think they are more like 1.75 or 2.
Hold figer xxx
Frustrating. Hope you get sorted soon.
