That's amazing how much you got into 740 sq feet! So many people would give their eye teeth for that kitchen. I love the accordion door, too. So much nicer than the flimsy bifold doors.
Looks great. One item I did notice is that you might want to consider for future builds is not to put can lights too close to where ceiling fans are, especially not above where the fan blades are. In other videos, it looked like one of the can lights in the living room by the laundry might get a ceiling fan. If you have the can light on and a ceiling fan spinning, the light in the room will seem to flicker because the fan blade will be covering the light as it spins. How high was the ceilings? 9 foot? The bathroom details looked great. Good to put in an outlet for a future bidet.
Great observation about the light close to the ceiling fa! you are right, you might see shadows. The ceilings are 8 feet, and thank you for the complement about the bathroom, the bidet outlet is very popular now days so we prefer to that it from the beginning
Hello from a fellow contractor in West Covina Ca.Great job . I know people think the cost seems expensive but those are real numbers.Blessings over your company.
I love the ADU reveals. AND that you do the walk thru and demonstration of all the elements and how they flow. I cannot watch those that only have some tacky music and take about 2 minutes to run a camera thru. I'm not really a white and grey lover, so in the kitchen and shower surround I would have chosen something different. Of course I know that was the owners choice. I did really love the shower floor tile design and color. I think planning for ageing in place is a great idea. The quality looks great. My budget would mandate some more economical finishes, lol.
Thank you very much for taking the time to comment! We make these videos thinking that they can be useful to those who are thinking of doing something similar, so we're very happy to know that you liked it
I am almost done with my backyard ADU. 2 weeks away. Total cost of everything is $200K for 740 sq ft home. 2BR, 1 BA. Located in Sacramento, California
Definitely needs a screen door in the front. You have the door wide open during the video- perfect for a ton of bugs to come in ! But other than that. I love it ! Wish I could live in California but my little postal income wouldn’t allow it and some people think I make good money. Lol.
Looks really nice. Good to know how much it costs for a construction of that quality. I’m looking to build a similar size unit soon. Seems like you’ve got extra tall doors and 9 foot ceilings in some parts?
Thanks for taking your time to comment! Since they are prefabricated individual pieces, we try to match them as best as possible, but we do not always manage to make them look like a single piece, so we usually arrange them beforehand so that the client can approve or modify them according to their criteria. And as for the ceiling, it's actually 8ft (interior)
That’s average to low for these builds here in San Diego. I’m having one built now about this size that’s going to end up over 300. Average home price is over a million so it all tracks.
We appreciate you sharing the cost of your ADU! And as you say, we are in the middle range in this area, but we understand that it is a significant amount and there will be people who consider it too much.
I built 800 sq ft ADU for my mother in law. In Chula Vista california, Eastlake area for 180k How are you getting 287k plus permits. 😂 plus I got her kitchen and bathroom with all marble not quartz cheap material. And her ADU is way more luxurious, baseboard you installed is the cheapest of all. May I add the cabinets are installed incorrectly by the video you can see they are not straight. The cabinets are super cheap from china. The door in the beginning had major details on the red. The lighting is super cheap. I added 1k chandelier from Italy. The flooring is laminate which will likely crack or chip from corners because it’s cheap material. There is no way he spent more than 100k for this lmao!!😂 all built by cheap Tijuana labor men. Call me if you need a real ADU built.

Must be California prices. I’m having an addition built on my Florida house and I’m at about $220.00 a square foot.

Mike I'm looking to build something very similar in Chico. I'm only doing a 1 bedroom, so you've given me hope with my budget of 180K
Looks really nice !!❤

The real estate market in California is absolutely crazy right now! Thanks for your comment, we took notes about the screen door

Thanks for the comment! All doors are standard (80") except the laundry door (barn door), which is 92". And the interior ceiling is 8ft
Do you handle projects in Sacramento?
For the moment we only work in San Diego, CA
Love it
What size is the kitchen, fridge, and sink?
Hi! sink & fridge are 36 in. You can find the rest of the measurements in this video th-cam.com/video/ZPuEafg_eeQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vbgce1Vfs1O31IqO
Those backsplash slabs at 2:53 are not book matched 😢.
9ft or taller ceilings.

$287,000 - wow, soooo overpriced! Real rip off to the homeowner.
