    • @dianegenx
      @dianegenx ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ashleyamber304 Over the last 7 years have they ever shown or mentioned a dive flag?
      It took the mom 6 years to purchase overboard watches when she finally admitted her children hadn't been wearing their life preservers at night.
      And for those 6 years, she had her teenagers doing night watch while she slept. Training and responsibility are great, but they're in the middle of an ocean with no help for many miles or many hours. I don't think they have any idea how incredibly lucky they've been.

    Praslin in my honest opinion looks like a much nicer island! Beautiful and better preserved. And I don’t Blame Keith in saying he didn’t know if he’d come back. If you can’t comfortably swim and snorkel in particular that would spoil a big part of the experience. With all that being said, it is gorgeous at that anchorage, and although it’s a lot of boats nestled up close, it sure beats being at a cruise port or a crowded resort. And once you got to that beach there, I have to say what a great segment, lovely private little beach. Good music, food, and friends equal a good time. The rain on the other hand is calming. The tortoises were massive and so cool to see. You never know what new people will come into your orbit, the fit guy doing flips was pretty cool. Great video! Looking forward to next weeks :)

I have to beg him to take the houseboat out. He loves fishing, is an outdoor person, can fix any engine. I just don't get it. I grew up near the water went out with my parents and SO much want to do it. 😔

Seriously this is better than any travel channel show. Travel channel should pick you up. maybe they did and I don't know, cause I don't have cable anymore. Never anything on. lol Anyways, my family and I hail from Texas North of Houston. One day we'd love to sail as you all have. I just want to wait till my littles are a bit older. 4 and 6 now. I can really relate to your struggles with older kids living their own lives. As I have a 19 and 21 year old, who are out chasing their dreams. We are so proud but also so sad to not have em around much. I love how your older son has stayed on as part of the crew. He's learning so much along side y'all. Thank you for sharing your amazing adventures with us all.

    What a difference to watch folks that have money while sailing giving them that ability to enjoy so much more. Of course they still need to budget but they can do proper repairs and updates without a lot of worry. Of course you can sail on a 2x4 if you so desire but a more modern vessel with updates makes more sense to me. Enjoy the journey.

    I have to admit that I have read and heard so much about pirates that I have been dreading a video like the thumbnail suggested this would be. Glad it’s not and I am confident in your navigational skills and your wherewithal. And, believe me, I have some very serious and sad worries at home. Yet still my heart jumped when I got your alert and saw that thumbnail. Ugh. Glad you are okay! And I love how each of your kids have different interests and different gifts and talents. Kudos for letting each one shine and enabling any potential growth. I have a lot of respect for that! Miss seeing Anna and haven’t quite figured out where Kate will shine but no rules except her to be on some timetable and she will discover what makes her tick in time. Her athletic skills are admirable! Well done mom and dadding, mom and dad!

    One lesson I learned when I first learned to sail (some 45 years ago now) is NEVER tie fenders to the life-lines, it is too easy to pin one under the curve of a hull, or worse, under a piling and tear up a life line (and I also learned on a long weekend sail (I know NOT a 2 week passage) to have a spare of the longest life-line for the boat (you can always shorten one but trying to get those 2" is a bear), it might not be perfect but that is always one thing I have/had in a locker.

    Thanks for sharing, this is a totally awesome way to live. Keep sending the (excellent) videos and I'll keep watching them. I got a question; Have you seen/experienced any of the pollution in the water on your travels?

    Go around to the back of the island to a morning off of Constance Aphelia. National Park, so a few bucks for the hook. Also a killer zip line course tucked in the back there.

      If You want to get away from people, and just sit on the hook, continue to sail north east to the Seven Sisters (islands) Grand Soeur. It’s an absolute little slice of heaven. Anchorage at S 4.293077 E.55.867194 - th-cam.com/video/r9N8sCk6em0/w-d-xo.html
