As a Somali, I’m glad you try to give a nuance into the so called “piracy” in Somalia 🇸🇴 since foreigners coming into our waters and ILLEGALLY fishing in it. Somalis have a long and rich history trading with almost every civilization around the world and we know these waters has the best marine life in the world. Btw, Socotra Island is like an alien world to most people but the people of this region is simply home to them with unique trees and animals only found in between Somalia 🇸🇴 and Yemen 🇾🇪. Nice to hear you boys playing, my boy is at about the same stage. I can't wait till Fridays when he gets home ( he's a boiler maker and a specialist welder ) I get to hear him play. I gave up playing for a fly rod, wish I hadn't now I'm in my later yrs. I envy you Keith, getting to spend this time with your children, it's special dude, not many of us get the chance these days. Jus t want to say your kids are getting more education and knowledge of the world then most kids here in the states. You as parents made the BEST decision to sail around the world with your Family. The school systems here are horrible ( sad ) I believe home schooling is the way to go. Yes kids here in the states can read in text books BUT to actually live it, learn different languages and cultures. I feel like I am seeing all these beautiful places with you all. One more thing the music within your Family love it ! ❤❤❤❤

Renee, you're editing skills are excellent! Another well-done episode. If y'all sail up the GULF of AQABA: The Eastern shore of the Gulf of Aqaba is the location of the land of MIDIAN, which is where Moses first fled Egypt (described in the Bible in the Book of Exodus, Chapter 2, verse 15) before he saw the Burning Bush. When Moses returned to Egypt and led the Israelites out of Egypt, Moses led them to Midian. Exodus 14:21 describes Moses stretching out his hands and dividing the waters so the Israelites could cross on dry land -- this occurred in the Gulf of Aqaba and not in the Red Sea. The most likely places where this occurred are either at the Straits of Tiran or further north at present day Nuweibaa.

I am in my 60s and used to sit in my basement with my girlfriends listening to and singing along with this band. (With the album cover opened, reading the lyrics. Such great memories!!) I think we were 16 or thereabouts? I love that your boys know this music!! Hi Zatara family, good to know you’ve passed by Somalia without any problem, Keith for your info, the fishing boat you’ve cross with is a tuna fishing vessel, and they go all the way to there and sail back to either Ecuador, El Salvador or USA, to unload the catch ans then they leave again, see you next week, safe sail in the mean time
Love watching your videos and I have subscribed. You are right about the Somali pirates, it started out as fending of the Chinese,Spanish and the Portuguese fishermen and when they got ransom for boats then they changed their tactics.
Im glad you guys made it,the water very wild in somali coast even tanker struggling to cross dow stream water and opposite wind but is beautiful waters all the long the somali coast abundance in sea creatures and fish is the basket of fish for entire indian ocean

Keith, I have been away from the channel for a while do to a long hospital stay. Back home now and watched all the episodes I missed. My wife sitting next to says "Keith looks like he lost some weight and put on some muscle. He looks good". I am still processing this new level of openness she has with me.
I am glad you made it safely past the Somali area without any threats! I was very concerned for your safety when I first heard of your destination route. I hope you can get that hatch sealed up while there.

Love watching your videos and I have subscribed. You are right about the Somali pirates, it started out as fending of the Chinese,Spanish and the Portuguese fishermen and when they got ransom for boats then they changed their tactics.
Im glad you guys made it,the water very wild in somali coast even tanker struggling to cross dow stream water and opposite wind but is beautiful waters all the long the somali coast abundance in sea creatures and fish is the basket of fish for entire indian ocean

Keith, I have been away from the channel for a while do to a long hospital stay. Back home now and watched all the episodes I missed. My wife sitting next to says "Keith looks like he lost some weight and put on some muscle. He looks good". I am still processing this new level of openness she has with me.

Boy oh boy I was pulling for you guys to get to that calm sweet part of the passage where the winds dropped down. Up to then I was concerned.
