I prefer the Indonesian one as the Minang people in West Sumatra preserved much more of their traditional culture and practices. Negeri Sembilan was the traditional centre for Minang people in Malaysia.
So it is rwally a Minang dish now very popular in both Indonesia and Malaysia.

In jakarta there is another stadium the capacity 85,000 in north jakarta sunter, it is using for the football club the name is persija jakarta and the stadium simmiliar like your home town such as wembley, emirate and eitihad. Rendang originaly came from province in indonesia west sumatera, and padang city is a part of west sumatera.

When I was young, I didn't know much about rendang, all I know that I, my late mother and my late grandma from the east coast of peninsular Malaysia, loved cooking rendang, and where they came from, there was no Indonesian migrant on this side of Malaysia. I honestly believe that rendang is a regional dish. Malaysia, on the contrary of what some people said, never so arrogantly spoke out that rendang is their heritage. Let me tell you something, in the early 1980s, I visited Jakarta few times met some lovely people, and I asked them about rendang, some said they heard of it, some said they haven't heard of it. And I continue asking, do they prepare this on special day like Eid, they say no. Well, if you go around Indonesia, you will only find rendang in Padang restaurant. And, and if you go around Malaysia, not only the Malay likes and knows very well to cook rendang, the Malaysian Chinese and Indian too. And we have rendang all over the country everyday, not only on special day like Eid. Well, one thing for sure, someone will probably try to convince in this comment that rendang is their right and property and no one can say otherwise, I'm not sure where are they heading to with rendang.
