EEW Nano - Getting started 5 - plying

- This is the fifth in a short series of getting started videos aimed at brand new spinners who are spinning for the first time on an EEW nano.
In this video I talk about what plying does, different sorts of lazy kates you can use, and when you'd want to use a tensioned lazy kate. I then show how to ply on the nano, and what to do when one of your singles runs out before the other.
Like in my previous video, it doesn't matter which hand is in front and which is at the back, just pick whichever way feels most comfortable to you.

Love your tip at 9:00 regarding taking the last 12 inches of your spun single and plying it back on itself so you could see how much twist it would want as a balanced plied yarn. That's so helpful to a newbie like me!

This was a very interesting plying technique. You are the only person I've heard suggest the two-handed feeding in. I'll give it a try.
This was really helpful, thanks! If you ever make another plying video, consider using two different color yarns to show under and overplying versus what you're hoping to achieve. This would make it super easy to see. Thanks again!

How did you like your Nano2? I just got one and am going to set it up as soon as possible. As I’m currently waiting for my furniture to return after massive renovations I’m bingeing on videos until I’ve got amore comfortable living situation and an actual table to set my Nano2 on!

My nano spiinner will start to spin, and then it stops. I can hear the motor run, but the front wheel doesn't turn. I have changed the front chord, and checked to make sure the flyer is in the groove properly. Do you have any suggestions what i should do. It is a nano 1, purchased during the kick strart time period. I have ordered a new motor, but I am not confident that the motor is the issue.
