- This MacBook Pro A1989 came in with no power and no apparent ability to charge. It had already been worked on to some extent. The store which sent it to me had already tried replacing the battery but still could not get it to turn on. Let's see if we can get it up and running again.

This one threw me off at the end but I think that the battery was so low that after repair it had to be plugged in or power cycled a couple times before it started charging properly.
Good repair video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Next one, use your bench supply to pump power direct into the battery's (disconnected from the motherboard) to start the charge before putting the usb c in.
Will do that in the future. I have a couple more that are already completed though that will be posted soon. They were also fairly easy to solve without the need for PSU.
Hi! This is an off-topic question… Do our refurbish the digitiser for iPhone displays? If so… could I use a kitchen vacuum bag to “laminate” an iPhone 12 oled display? I just have to change the glass and OCA glue only. What do you think?
I haven't done any screen refurbishing for quite some time. Back when I was doing OLEDs for Samsung phones, you could push out the bubbles and did not need an autoclave. Not sure that a vacuum sealer would help you but you might try experimenting with some older phones.
@ Thank you for the quick response! Squeezing those bubbles out will be the best option I think. After posting my comment I realized that there is a liquid variant of OCA glue which doesn’t need specialized equipment. I mixed 2 different repair strategics. 😅
was the capacitor on one of the power rails?
Yes, it was on PP3V3_G3H_RTC.
