    Hey Tom, what's your opinion on the Mount Ebal curse tablet? Could it be authentic?

    • @GospelandSpade
      @GospelandSpade  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      At the moment, I am undecided. I do think that the original altar at the site is most likely Joshua's altar, and therefore, that adds credence to the tablet being from about the time of Joshua or after.
      However, until all the information has been fully published (which, as far as I know, still hasn't been) and others can take a look at it I won't commit one way or another.
      It would be great if it is authentic, and I hope it is. However, sometimes it's better not to jump the gun and to see how things pan out.

    Caesarea Philippi is important because the ancient Jews considered this region ground zero for evil and spiritual warfare. They believe that is where the fallen angels came down to the daughters of men, creating the Nephilim.

    Jesus isn't God in the flesh.
    There are many verses that unambiguously indicate Jesus is not God. e.g.
    "Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” (John 20:17)
    "I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it." (John 12:49)
    “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good-except God alone.” (Mark 10:18)
    "I will place over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will tend them; he will tend them and be their shepherd."
    "I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them. I the LORD have spoken." (Ezekiel 34:23-24)

      Is that right? 🤔 Well, let me share with you some very clear verses that totally contradict you. It's funny that you use FAR FAR more ambiguous verses to try to prove your poin, which is a classic example of 2nd Peter 3:16-17 at work.
      2 Peter 3
      ¹⁵ And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
      ¹⁶ As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
      ¹⁷ Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
      By the way, none of those verses even prove your false doctrine. You never interpret the clear by the unclear! You always interpret the unclear by the clear. So here are some VERY CLEAR passages that prove you very wrong.
      “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
      - 1 Timothy 3:16
      John 1:1-14
      ¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
      ² The same was in the beginning with God.
      ³ All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
      ⁴ In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
      ⁵ And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
      ⁶ There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
      ⁷ The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
      ⁸ He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
      ⁹ That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
      ¹⁰ He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
      ¹¹ He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
      ¹² But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
      ¹³ Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
      ¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
      “Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.”
      - John 8:58
      Compare what Jesus said with what God said in Exodus 3:1, which the Jews full well understood what Jesus was claiming to be and tried to murder him a result.
      “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.”
      - Exodus 3:14
      John 10 (KJV)
      ²⁴ Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.
      ²⁵ Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
      ²⁶ But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
      ²⁷ My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
      ²⁸ And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
      ²⁹ My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
      ³⁰ I and my Father are one.
      ³¹ Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
      ³² Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
      ³³ The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
      ³⁴ Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
      ³⁵ If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
      ³⁶ Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
      ³⁷ If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
      ³⁸ But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
      1 John 4:1-3 (KJV)
      Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
      ² Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
      ³ And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
      I will let whoever reads this post decide whose position is clearer. Yours or mine? 🤔
      Lastly, there is no point in trying to debate me on this as I won't be drawn in. I have answered you and won't answer again as per Proverbs 26:4-5. What you do with the truth is up to you.
      Proverbs 26:4-5
      ⁴ Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.
      ⁵ Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

      @@GospelandSpade ♦ 2 Peter 3:16-17
      * How did the author of 2 Peter know what would be scripture 300 years ahead of time?
      * Modern scholars unanimously agree 2 Peter wasn't written by Peter.
      * The apostle Peter was a fisherman who spoke Aramaic. 2 Peter was written by an educated Greek.
      * The only scripture that was available at the time of Peter was the Tanakh (Old Testament). The only person twisting scripture was Paul. e.g.
      1 Corinthians 15:3-4 - Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead on the 3rd day ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE..
      There is no such scripture. It's a phantom reference.
      Romans 9:25 "As indeed he says in Hosea, “Those who were not my people I will call ‘my people,’ and her who was not beloved I will call ‘beloved.’”
      vs
      Hosea 2:23 "and I will sow her for myself in the land. And I will have mercy on No Mercy, and I will say to Not My People, ‘You are my people’; and he shall say, ‘You are my God.’”
      Hosea was prophet to the northern kingdom of Israel and he was speaking about the 10 lost tribes. Paul twists this to apply it to pagans in Rome.
      Romans 11:26 "and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob."
      vs
      Isaiah 59:20 "“The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins,” declares the LORD."
      Isaiah says Jacob repents and the Redeemer comes because Jacob repents. Paul changes it so that the Redeemer will turn the heart of Jacob. Paul says you can't adequately repent by yourself.
      Habakuk 2:3-4 "3For the vision awaits an appointed time; it testifies of the end and does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it, since it will surely come and will not delay. 4Look at the proud one; his soul is not upright-BUT THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH."
      vs
      Romans 1:17 "For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, AS IT IS WRITTEN, “THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.”"
      Habakuk says the person of faith will wait for the redemption from the attacks of the Chaldeans upon Judah although it may be slow (Habakuk chs. 1 &2). Paul changes the meaning to say a person is saved into eternal life through faith alone.

      @@GospelandSpade 🔥 1 Timothy 3:16
      Your reference from 1 Timothy is worthless.
      Paul was a false apostle who had no eye witness testimonies to verify his Damascus Road "conversion".
      _“If I alone testify about Myself, My testimony is not true.”_ (John 5:31 )
      Each of the 3 accounts of the Damascus Road "conversion" that Paul gave to Luke contradict each other. e.g.
      *Did the other men fall to the ground?*
      _"And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.”_ (Acts 9:7)
      vs
      _"And when we all had fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me and saying in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’”_ (Acts 26:14)
      Paul contradicted himself in many places. e.g.
      *Approval by men*
      _"For presently do I seek approval of men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I would not be a servant of Christ.”_ (Galatians 1:10)
      vs
      _"just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.”_ (1 Corinthians 10:33)
      Paul contradicted Jesus many times. e.g.
      *On whom God has mercy*
      Paul says:
      Rom.9
      [15] For he says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."
      [16] So it depends not upon man's will or exertion, but upon God's mercy.
      [18] So then he has mercy upon whomever he wills, and he hardens the heart of whomever he wills.
      Jesus says:
      Matt.5
      [7] Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

      @@GospelandSpade 💊 John 1:1-14
      Jesus isn't the Word. Jesus gave us God's word.
      "I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it." (John 12:49)
      Jesus prays to the Father:
      "I HAVE GIVEN THEM YOUR WORD and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world." (John 17:14)
      You'll have to read the whole gospel According to John to get a true understanding of who Jesus is and is not.
      &&&&&&&&&
      John 8:58 vs Exodus 3:14
      That’s a good comparison but it’s wrong. The author of John gets a few things wrong e.g.
      No man hath seen God at any time. - John 1:18
      For I have seen God face to face. - Genesis 32:30
      &&&&&&&&&
      John 10 (KJV)
      Jesus didn’t claim to be God. Jesus claims to be the Son of God.
      “because I said, I am the Son of God”
      &&&&&&&&&
      1 John 4:1-3 (KJV)
      Even the demons confess that Jesus has come in the flesh.
      “What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?” Matthew 8:29
      He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” Mark 5:7

      You actually posted 2 verses that contradict each other. If you followed the instruction of verse 5 then you would become like a fool as per verse 4 who is wise in his own conceit as per verse 5. Try reading what the verses say.
      &&&&&&&&&
      I can see what sort of Christians you are.
      You started your reply condemning me as unlearned, unstable and one who twists scripture.
      You finished your reply calling me a fool.
