Currently rhearsing this with my quintett. I am the oboe. These 16ths are killing me. Very nice performance of the Farkas Quintett, though!!! (We used to play Farkas as well :-))
Playing the oboe part on soprano and those 16ths aren’t as bad. But I know oboe is much harder to tongue fast on. To make it easier I do two slurred two staccato.
@@MichaelWilliams-ow9ue I personally can't tolerate the late Romantics, so only Stravinsky would rate. I'm not saying they're not good composers, just that I don't like their music.
0:00 I - Allegretto
3:45 II - Andante

Thanks for this.
Love your pristine and delicate articulation Herman! Great sounding quintet!! :D

Second-rate composer my ass.... the second movement brought me to tears
I agree, it's an exceptional piece.
It's one of the most beautiful quintets I have player with my bassoon
I have a very severe rating system. A third rate composer is quite good. Bach is one, Beethoven and Mozart are two, so Three is not so bad
@@sigurdbjrnson1744 Where are Tchaikovsky Brahms Sibelius and Stravinsky in your rating system? Any ones other than bach?
