Hey man have you ever shot a desert tech? They are really cool and nice and short but with a long barrel. I hear if you own one it makes you about 20% more accurate and 25% more manly. Love your channel please review a desert tech x
Thanks for the support. I’ve seen your channel mate heard your a great shot on fellow deer in Tasmania. In regards to desert tech I did shoot one off a picnic table this year and was not really impressed with the bull pump style. But I have been told by a few people that they shoot extremely well specially the new model.
I have a 7 prc and guess I need to contact Winchester and see how much money they will pay me to not show my speeds out of a 27 inch Kline coustom barrel. 3110 with 180 eld hornady and bug holes at 1200 yards. What say you Winchester since you bought all powder inventory they released with for data.
@KillenNReelinoutdoors everyone values different things i suppose. Your not really using all the powder in a 20 inch barrel. My thought is,,, why use a magnum if your not gunna pinch all the speed out ya can. I hunt in the jungles of the northwest and i still do not want to give up even an inch of barrel for speed. I also don't run a suppressor either. Mainly because I dont want a 30+ inch barrel and I'm not willing to sacrifice any performance. I have a 24 inch barrel and I'm thinking about trashing the perfectly good barrel for a 26 inch or maybe even 27
@@MatthewKyle-sg5uo I get that man and see those benefits but when we are already talking about a cartridge that can kill further than I intend on shooting with a 20” barrel why go 26” also I am suppressed so for me it’s a bit different. Can see your point tho man.
Why do people put magnum cartridges in short-ass barrels? A 20-inch barrel is about perfect for 5.56 and does really well for .308 Win, but for 7mm PRC, 24 inches, minimum.
@nickhinkle8810 That doesn't make any sense. You're going with a long-action magnum, then chopping off the magnum performance. It would make more sense with a .308 or 6.5 Creedmoor. You're only losing ~80 fps chopping those cartridges from 24 to 20 inches of barrel, and you have a shorter receiver. You're losing twice that velocity chopping a 7mm PRC down, and not only are you losing that ballistic performance, you're turning it into blast, thereby insuring you don't realize the advantages of the cartridge or the suppressor. It is asinine and self-defeating.

What’s the FPS off the box compared with what the XERO showed?
The box speed is off a 24 in barrel and this is a 20 in so would not line up. But I know this is really good speed for a 20 in barrel
I've got a few 7PRCs all 24" barrels but one which has a 25" barrel. The factory Federal ELDX ammo in all shoots 2990 to 3025 fps
7prc needs a 26 inch barrel.
Needs? I need a short rifle lol. Just busting ya man yeah it really comes alive but it absolutely makes a nice handy rig with that 20”. Happy shooting

@KillenNReelinoutdoors I can see yours too brother. No worries.
Stupid statement. A 30" is faster than 26" too, doesn't mean it needs 30". Chasing velocity is rarely what makes a cartridge good.
2800 is not good my friend… should be getting closer to 2900

Lots of people hunt with suppressors now, shorter barrel allows suppressor without a bunch of extra lenght.
