I thought the mitsubishi was named Dodge Colt in the US? I can't imagine a car this small being named a chrysler in the 70s

Yes, the A50 Galant was sold in the U.S. as the Dodge Colt and Australia as the Chrysler Valiant Galant. However, the fastback Galant GTO bodystyle was never widely exported outside Japan, and even then only to righthand drive markets.

No, it was introduced in 1968, and it also has '68 as its year in Gran Turismo 7.
