Tbh it's not just the Adidas (although I'm sure that helps), but there seems to be a large russian hololive fandom in general.
I do believe there was a Russian watcher who clipped and translated one of her streams in Russian some time ago. I'm not sure the Adidas lines are a major factor, though. But I do believe that because she plays a lot of FPS (particularly Call of Duty and Russians love FPS games a lot anyway) that she suddenly has a large Russian fan base.
These are just my assumptions so don't take it as truth. I would love to actually hear from our Russian bros why Botan is hugely popular there.

But honestly i belive that this begun with the memes. To people who wonder why she has such a large Russian following :
1) Her timetable hits close to evening in western parts of Russia. Western parts of Russia have overwhelming majority of population, on top of being a colossal culture mix, so having a lot of people who like Japanese culture is no surprise.
2) Vibe. Unlike many other hologirls, Botan has very, VERY serene vibe, almost timeless. It's not chaotic, not forced cute, not really lewd or overhyped, it's calm and soothing, which is liked by a lot of Russians. After all, we want to calm down after long day at work.
3) There are 2 big clippers in Russian fandom, and one of them has first clip of Botan speaking Russian, which has crazy views by now, and second one clips almost exclusively Botan and Gura.
4) Relatable character. A lot of Russians love FPS games(you probably know russians in CS:GO meme, even if you don't play it). Also, majority of Russian fandom finds stereotypes about Russia to be very funny, and often meme themselves, though it's only when foreign audience is present. So Adidas was very warmly received.
5) Adding to vibe, Botan's cute side feels much more natural than other girls. Botan in real world will not be out of place, while, for example, Pekora will be standing out VERY much.

Yes, we call it a 'mass-size model'. These are used for training to service a real AK. There are also real AKs with specially damaged barrels. They cannot fire real bullets and are used to fire light-noise ammunition. No permit is needed to buy this one in Russia.
