"I don't recommend it, because I think it can kinda kill you" is the greatest life advice any of us will ever get.
It truly does fit so many scenarios.
Helium truly is the drug of the drugs that everyone should stay away as best as they can, it can take you up on a crazy binge and people will comment and laugh for your voice, nobody needs that. "Don't do drugs".
He's not wrong, lol.
Not to get dark but someone I knew committed suicide with helium gas..

@Hello well he's not insulting them either, he's trying to help them. It's also all about attitude, I've had plenty of teachers, bosses etc over the years and most overlook the fact that it's also how they go about it.
It was cute to see him not outright dismiss some of the more dire ones.
A good artist remembers how they started and wont try to bring other down.

Agreed. Now we just have to convince disney and dreamworks to hire the true professionals
Disney and DreamWorks do that for their shows but not the movies. For example, DreamWorks Trolls:The Beat Goes On! Has a different actress for Poppy so instead of Anna Kendrick, they used Amanda Leighton but Amanda actually sounds really good in the role!
As someone who stutters, I am constantly "ad-libbing".

Its not easy thinking up appropriate replacement words instantly when you know youre about to stutter. Imo having a good vocabulary and the ability to access it quickly are essential tools for us stutterers. Wish i knew why we cant just spit it out lol.

I never in my wildest dreams thought my Tweety impression would be reviewed by someone who is paid to voice Tweety. Great advice! And would you have guessed that was the first time I ever did an impression on camera? I'll know what to do next time now... goodbye construction!

funny thing about porky's ad lib; as a child i had a pretty bad stutter and sometimes when i was having trouble with a word i would just give up and pick a different word with the same meaning. just like the ad lib thing
As someone who stutters since childhood, this is very relatable, maybe it's common to most people who stutter. I even developed a pre-selected list of options for words I often have trouble with. You got to adapt yourself.

There is a wonderful documentary called "I Know that Voice" all about voice actors and it's just fantastic, and he makes a wonderful point about imitating a voice versus acting with a voice, hence their title. It's one thing to do Bugs Bunny, but can you recite Shakespeare as Bugs Bunny? That's where the gold is, and that's what makes the talent iconic.

I am absolutely floored that 2 of my impressions were reviewed in this video. Thank you for the amazing tips for voicing these characters, and moving forward I’ll definitely consider them for other voices/videos.

It's sad that ever since the whole Robin Williams as Genie situation that normal actors and big names just use their own voices is animated films since it brings in more money
And what makes it bitter sweet was that Robin actually gave out a good performance. An awesome performance but Hollywood seems to care about casting celebs not for the talent but because of how popular they are

At 5:10 when he’s talking about tweety being sped up, when he does the voice play it back at 1.25x and see the difference
There's a scene where Granny is talking to Tweety and Sylvester and she says "C'mon boys". I assumed at the time that meant he was male but who knows.

You have absolutely not heard me try. Voice acting is flipping hard! I'm in awe of voice actors.
It's amazing that there have been dozens of voice actors recreating a couple of characters at a time since Blanc died... of Mel Blanc did almost all of them eveyr year for decades.
In one of David Letterman's WORST interviews, he sat with Mel Blanc. And I think he said he did 500+ .. COMPLETELY UNIQUE voices.
Mel redefined what it meant to be a vocal-talent genius, and Dave treated him like the intern that gets him coffee. I like Dave, but that was hard to watch.

you think he is just a family friendly cartoon guy, but he is a genious. When i say genious i mean people with many layers and dimensions. A normal person has like two or 3 dimensions, but this guys has like 33 sides, you cant describe him with one sentence or even put him into a drawer in your little head. He would do a great Tanos, Kratos, Joker or Deadpool at any time if he needed to and many things more that you cant even imagine. But as we like to think in reduced patterns this is just a family friendly voice actor to us :0

All these condescending comments ~HeS JuSt dOinG MeL bLanC ImPrEssIonS~ Mel Blanc died in 1989. Should Looney Toons have died with him? The characters are immortal because of voice actors. These voice actors take Blanc’s legacy and make it their own.
Exactly, while there’s only one true Mel Blanc, that doesn’t mean that other voice actors can’t carry on his legacy by doing their best impersonations of his legendary voices. It is the same thing with superhero actors being portrayed by newer generations of actors such as Christopher reeves superman people think that he’s the only superman that is not true as Tom Welling, Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill have clearly proved. I especially see this level of blind fanboyism and ignorance regarding Mark Hamills joker, as if he’s the only joker that’s allowed to voice the character which is entirely false, John DiMaggio proved this as well as Richard Epscar. But that’s fanboys for you. I say this also as an amateur and aspiring voice actor.
Bob Bergen is such a great voice actor, and he seems like a really cool guy. I like seeing long time voice actors talk about how well they know the voice over industry, and sharing their knowledge.

The one with the helium. Brian Hull was purposely doing a helium impression challenge.
Nice. When you referred to reading the newspaper front page in the characters voice, it reminded me of Seth McFarlane singing Cindy Lauper songs as Stewie and Peter when they were both on the Graham Norton show (utube has versions of it).
FREAKING LOVE THIS!! So inspired! Would love to learn at the feet of Bob Bergen someday. I also love that Bob reviewed the impressions of Brizzy and Brian Hull, two of my favourite TH-cam voiceactors!

And also, a huge thanks to you Bob Bergen, because of dedicated individuals like you, our children can grow up with the same good wholesome cartoon characters our grandparents grew up with.
Bob Bergen is more than just a marvelous voice actor; he elevates the art by encouraging other artists. This is just one example.

He definitely does Mel Blanc's creations some serious honor. The man is pure talent.
It would be cool to have the links to the impressionists. That way you're giving creators exposure instead of just using them for a video.
the first one is of Brian hull. he does all kinds of impressions. mostly Disney. he goes to Disneyland/ world and does impressions in front of the characters. it makes their day

I felt like the did Brian Hull dirty in this one, he only used helium in 1 video to see what his impressions would sound like on them, he doesn't usually use helium, that was the worst clip of his to show.
Brian has WAY better impressions than what this showed. Just viewing his videos, he's been known to do some mind-blowing impressions. He just uploaded that one video of his where he broke Goofy. Lol
Same with Brizzy Voices. That video was like eight years old. She’s excellent now.

It's interesting that voice actors are finally getting recognition. In Japan, it's more highly regarded as a job. They rarely use famous actors to voice, as they would in the West.

Brian Hall I think was thrown under the buss. He has done songs with these characters and has read stuff like letters in these voices. I think they set him up.
