    The new cruwear version has non-nested liners and these won’t replace the factory brown micarta scales up will otherwise on most models, great review Nick!

      Exactly. These scales will NOT fit the Aluminum scaled Blade HQ PM2s OR the new "crucarta" pm2s.

      That’s why I got the dlt cruware so I could put the lotus micarta scales and not have that thin cut out for the lock but still have a crucarta

    Great review. Something that you’d have no way of knowing, since these were sent, but I believe that you can request the pocket clip holes put on the other side when ordering. Definitely still less options than 4, but a little consolation to the lefties amongst us.

    • @matthuck378
      @matthuck378 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup.
      It just means if you're a lefty (like me) you should order direct from Flytanium (as I did) and not from BHQ or other online knife store. They'll also not drill any holes for a clip if you want that too.

    • @MDM1992
      @MDM1992 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nobody ever needs 4 though, if you can choose which side you want them on it makes no sense to have them on the opposite side as I've never met a single person who swaps their clip from left to right and back.. everybody has one side, the only thing I've seen people switch from time to time is tip up or tip down I like to have a tip down knife for the days I want to have my knife in my shirt pocket it just seems to work better that way for me, I use tip up for everywhere else.

    Picked up a set of the Neptune Lotus scales for my PM2 a while back, love them and still use them. Great scales and the coloration matches wonderfully with the theme of the knife.

    My girlfriend has a para 3 with the flat CF scales from Flytanium and she absolutely loves it. I have a PM2 also with flat Ti scales, a flat Ti scales for the bugout (the scales turned that it into a knife that was worth a damn), and scales for the 940 all from Flytanium. They are amazing, I haven't had the chance to try the lotus scales but man do they look amazing. The fit and finish on really anything that Flytanium makes are great in my opinion. Personally I don't love the CF, but it is really nice, I hope they do marbled CF or something different if they have not already.

    The only bad thing about Flytanium is there's no way to cancel your order. I ordered TI scales for a
    cruwear Delica and then like an hour later realized the stainless steel scales from the damascus Delica would be lighter and give me the exact look I was going for so I tried to cancel my order but there's no option on the site. I had to email them, they took 3 days to get back to me to confirm it was cancelled and then took over a week to process my refund and stiffed me $10.

    As a leftie I don't like the compression lock. Strangely I usually leave the clip on the right side for ergonomic reasons.
    The extra weight is a no-no for me. These scales look great all the same.
    Sprint runs are a major no-no-no for me. Fools and their cash are easily separated.

    • @EDCandLace
      @EDCandLace 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sprints and exclusives are not bought by fools... we know we can buy the sprint or exclusive, enjoy it and sell it quickly for 50%+ more then we paid for it. Spyderco sprints have made me a fair bit of money.

    • @LyonTheGreat
      @LyonTheGreat 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah you have to pinch it to close the thing, it's not fun to do. Nevertheless, I cannot for the life of me find a leftie PM2 available on the market for anywhere near the MSRP of the regular knife. What a shame.

    With allt he aftermarket parts availale i'm kind of surpried there's still hasn't been someone making/selling "modfied blades" for Spyderco's more popular knives....in the popular Super Steels...e.g. w/o the recassa/nub.........if you can replace every other part....why not the blade? Does Spyderco sell them....yet???
    I mean, after so many sharpenings the cutting edge will have "receeded" too much. Time to replace the blade. Great time to swap in a S110V...or S90V...etc....or perhps you liked the Spyderchef blade....
    Odd Spderco still isn't offering "custom ordered knives" yet as Benchmade already is....they'd make even more money....saving customers from having to do the mods themselvces and investing in a Torx wrench...and bits...etc. Might only want to mod one knife...

      I bought a para 3 lightweight for about £100. It was alright. I picked up a set of Titanium scales and it's like a different knife. The lightweight scales don't really go with that particular blade. The titanium added an extra £55 to the cost but I think it's worthwhile.
