I kitted out my PM2 with flytanium titanium scales, totally transforms the thing. I plan on doing the same with my delica. Although the standard stone washed flytanium scales are nice, titanium takes a really nice shine after fine sanding

Amazing how a scale swap can transform my whole perception of it. I dont like it enough for a $215 sticker, but I *DO* like it a lot more than the LW FRN handled option. A Ti Delica in something like m4/M390/etc would be crazy.

if you order directly from flytanium, you can tell them to drill the holes for the clip on the other side. it's just the distributors that only order the non-lefty scales.
I’ve been collecting (high end?) folding knives for eight years and never owned a benchmade or spyderco. I do have a microtech fixed blade but only because I really like the knife and because microtech knives are very rare where I live (they aren’t even sold in stores or conventions).
I never replaced my delica after I gave it away and now it is so much pricier even relative to other knife price increases. It is a great knife design though. Atom has kinda filled that cutting machine role for me though. This is a cool option and if I had a delica, I would be grabbing a CF set.
They're ok but like you said, they are a bit plain Jane. That lanyard hole would be better looking with the clip screws, me being a lefty after all lol. I agree if you don't have a delica and you want to do this, there's other options at that price point. Hell if you're doing this with a K390 delica, just spend the extra 20 bucks and buy a Spydiechef and I think you would be happier. It became my favorite folder out of my whole collection
In spite of all the overpriced, smoothy and swishy gear Nick favours, his loyalty to the Delica is admirable. The Chaparral has its gourmet outfits and I think the Delica deserves a nice suit.

I’m not a Spiderco fan but the titanium scales does improve the looks 100%. I still won’t be getting one but I’m sure Spiderco fans will love the new look 🐸😎👍.
I love the Delica size and blade shape, but I wish it came in a different lock. Anything that is single handed. Compression, button, framelock, axis, I don't care. Just give me a delica without the backlock!
@@Orgdorg Sure, but just because I can stand on my chair easily doesn't mean it's meant to be a ladder. All the locks I mentioned in my comment are designed for and intuitively used one handed, the backlock is not.
I’ve had a Delica for years, but the pocket clip screws stripped out (despite the fact that I never once backed them out), and I lost the pocket clip. So, I never carry it anymore. Also, *ambidexterity*.
Flytanium makes stock knives look like cheap knockoffs. If they would have made the lanyard hole like the pivot hold you could just add in another chicago screw and it would look 100 times better
Metonboss scales make flytanium look ugly. Sorry not sorry. Ive carried flytanium for years and years on many knives. Just got 2 sets copper Metonboss scales. Flytanium looks like a generic factory product, Metonboss scales look like art. Plus, Fly is made in China, Meton in the USA

For the lefties (like me): Flytanium will drill left-handed holes for you if you order from them directly! They'll do either side or both for you.

Those scales do make the Delica look pretty sharp! I’m on a waiting list for when they eventually make more.

I'm not a fan of smooth metal handles. I prefer grippier surfaces. Has anyone reviewed any of the textured micarta scales that are on the market?

Why would they not drill it for left handers like the original scales??? That's one of the things that I love about Spyderco.

Backlocks can be operated one handed pretty easily, the action can be a lot more satisfying than you'd expect if you haven't handled many.
